The Sonance SR 2-125 amplifier we include with the Garden Series 8.1 package can power up to (16) Garden Series satellites and (2) Garden Series subwoofers before you would need to add a 2nd amplifier. Also, we recommend using color coded 14-gauge 4-conductor direct burial speaker wire when installing your system. I hope you found this information helpful. . A: Yes, it works great. Sonos told me I could run the 16.2 off of one amp. I'm only running 8.1 off each amp so I can adjust volume by zone. The 16.2 would require all speakers are the same volume.

Outstanding System
Amazing Sound! We just had a new pool and patio (with retaining walls) constructed. Wanted a high quality sound system that that would not disturb the neighbors (as typical outdoor speaker pairs would). Installation was not complicated (just careful trenching and speaker location selection). Due to limitations we could not install sub in center of space and ended up burying it at the end of daisy chain near corner of stone retaining wall/planter. Didn’t matter as bass is strong, clear and even (non-directional) from everywhere. Clear highs and mids too. Powered by Sonos Amp. Very Happy. Will see how it holds up to the elements. Expensive but so far well worth it…

Love it
Phenomenal bass. Great sound. Very directional so I can enjoy my music without bothering the neighbors. I hooked mine up to a Sonos amp for easy coordination with music in the house.
