Didn't work out for me....
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely wanted to love this and find a reason to keep it however mine would not 'wake up' if left sleeping for too long, say, overnight. I tried resetting a couple times and tried a couple different HDMI cables but still didn't fix for me. I suspect it was some sort of handshake issue with my receiver but I have a Yamaha RX2080 which is relatively new so I'm not sure. I've read forums with others experiencing the same issue. When it was in use it provided a very crisp picture and sound...more so than my Apple TV....dissappointing.

Going back to my Shield Pro 2019
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a decent streamer if you don't need to play AC3 or EAC3. It sends those formats as PCM stereo and reading forums it's been a problem since over a year ago. Weird that I don't recall my Fire Stick 4k Max having this problem. Surround output is way weaker than my Shield and needs read tuning levels when switching inputs. Prime app is worse than Google TV android app mainly because of seeking. You're either constantly moving forward or constantly moving back. There is not stop at key points with a preview like on every other android streamer. It's more powerful than the Nvidia Shield Pro 2019, but not better for my use. I swear I can't find a suitable replacement and it's been 5 years now.

Performance doesn't justify price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a pretty great streaming device but not as great as I expected. Upconversion compared to a Shield isn't in the same ballpark (although the price is). It is fast and allows for external storage if you record or want a video library on a thumb drive. The reason I ultimately returned it is it is a lousy Echo device. Volume is very low especially near a TV with a center channel. Since it is a pain to have two Echo's in one room it really creates issues when Echo controls every light in the house. For me a Firestick 4K Max with an OTG cable is just as good of a streaming device for way less money

Not good for Amazon Music
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stepped up to the Gen3 because the Gen2 was having issues with over saturated skin tones once I switched to a TV with HDR. Didn't have the issue with the 1080P non HDR I used before. Don't have the issue with the Gen 3 either, so it did fix that. The Wi-Fi 6 is good, getting 450Mbps download so the 100Mbps NIC isn't an issue. The 4 core processor makes moving around pretty effortless and apps open quickly. Haven't used the find my remote feature yet. Note about Amazon Music on this thing: You CANNOT create playlist or add music to a playlist. Went through 5 people on a support chat today and they said use another device. No! I will cancel my Unlimited subscription and keep using Tidal! Connected to my Denon DRA-800H, 24-bit/192kHz music, streams and plays fine. Another thing is Amazon Music does not have an "exit" it keeps running and you have to go to settings/apps/manage apps/ and force stop it, else it might start on its own while you are watching something else. I use this mainly for streaming audio, so this is why only 3 stars. All in all, it is a good device.

Just a step up from a fire stick
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bit faster response than the fire stick. Some things I think should be improved and seems very outdated even this newer generation model, has outdated Ethernet port 100 mps Bluetooth doesn't support newer faster codecs it's terrible so expect delays and almost impossible to sync. I truly expected better hardware

Fire TV Cube Review
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works Pretty well, picture is good and the audio is good. The only issue I have with it is it hangs intermittently after about 4 hours of being powered on and I have to unplug it and do a power on rest to clear the hang. I have it out in the open with the IR Extender running into the closed cabinet where my Yamaha Receiver is. I have it connected to my Yamaha receiver and Samsung TV with 8k HDMI 2.1 Cables, and use it for streaming Direct TV Streaming, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV. if it didn't hang up occasionally I would give it 5 stars.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Third generation is faster than the second generation. There is an issue with the home theater system. Sound drops out and after a few days the volume doesn’t increase to a higher volume compared to when first used. I had this same issue with the second generation and stopped using the cube. I thought I would try the third generation but after having the same issue I returned the cube. I’m using a soundbar connected to the HDMI arc at this time.

I like Fire TV but this model could be better.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased due to some missing apps on the previous model. I have only noticed minor improvements such as 4k and easier connection with my tv, cable box, and receiver. I still like fire tv but they could have made more upgrades so I’m a little disappointed.

Very average
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a fire cube 2 or a fire stick Max I urge you not to buy. If your going from a original fire cube or just a 4k fire stick then I could see a upgrade being warranted. However the main problem is the fire tv operating system with ads galore that slows everything down. The upscaling is nice but the shields AI upscaling is better in every way. This was a let down to be honest.

Posted .Hello! A Fire TV Cube is a Fire TV device that would give you access to streaming apps such as Prime Video, Hulu, Sling TV, Netflix and many more. It allows you to only use and subscribe to the channels you want to use. It also has an Echo Dot built into it, so you can control your TV hands free just by asking Alexa. It comes with an IR reader in the box, so it will control devices in your home theater set up that use IR control, such as a gaming console, or cable box, or even some sound bars. So everything can be done with your voice. I hope this information helps. Have a great day!

It's ok-
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not as impressive as I was hoping for. Definitely faster than the firestick but some of the settings compete with other devices over HDMI. Like the built in Alexa.

If yours isn't working right away return it

It’s ok
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s ok. Not worth the higher cost of upgrading from previous cube. Didn’t benefit from the additional hdmi in/out port. Thought by connecting my ps5 on this cube, it would eliminate my Samsung tv from switching hdmi input port when gaming. Seems it’s the tv causing it. Also, my sound bar configuration gets screwed up when ps5 connected directly to the cube.

Not bad for the price but could be better
|Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does not have upscale or doesn’t do it as good as a nvidia shield, the sound is also not as good as the shield, I would expect this device to have better performance that a three year old device. Not a bad product though, it can control your tv using Alexa.
