Design and Build The Midnight color is elegant and sophisticated, giving the MacBook Air a premium look that’s unmistakably Apple. The 15-inch size offers more screen real estate while maintaining the slim, lightweight profile that the Air lineup is known for. At just a little over 3 pounds, it’s incredibly easy to carry around, making it perfect for students, professionals, or anyone on the go. Display The 15-inch Retina display is vibrant, sharp, and a pleasure to work on. With a resolution of 2880 x 1864, it delivers excellent color accuracy and brightness, making it ideal for creative professionals and content consumption. Whether you’re editing photos, watching movies, or working on detailed documents, the display won’t disappoint. Performance Powered by Apple’s new M3 chip, the MacBook Air delivers impressive performance for everyday tasks and even more demanding applications. The 8GB of unified memory may seem modest, but thanks to the efficiency of the M3 chip, multitasking is smooth and responsive. For users who are focused on typical productivity tasks, such as web browsing, word processing, and light photo editing, this configuration handles it effortlessly. Storage The 256GB SSD offers fast read and write speeds, ensuring quick boot times and snappy application launches. However, the storage might feel limited for those who store a lot of large files, like high-resolution videos or games. For most users, though, it’s adequate, especially with the option of cloud storage. Battery Life Battery life is another strong point of this MacBook Air. Apple claims up to 18 hours of usage on a single charge, and in real-world use, it comes quite close, especially when performing less intensive tasks. This makes it a great option for long days without needing to hunt for a power outlet. Keyboard and Trackpad The Magic Keyboard is comfortable to type on, with good key travel and a satisfying tactile feel. The large Force Touch trackpad is responsive and accurate, making navigation a breeze. Apple continues to set the standard in this area. Ports and Connectivity The MacBook Air comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which offer fast data transfer, charging, and support for external displays. However, the lack of additional ports might be a downside for those who rely on peripherals and don’t want to carry a dongle. Conclusion The 15-inch MacBook Air with the M3 chip is an excellent choice for those who need a larger screen in a lightweight, portable form factor without sacrificing performance. It’s perfect for everyday computing needs, creative tasks, and even some light coding or design work. While the base model’s 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD might not suit power users, the efficiency of the M3 chip ensures that this laptop delivers strong performance where it counts. If you’re in the market for a sleek, powerful laptop that can go all day without needing to be plugged in, this MacBook Air is a top contender.

    Still in Love With Apple

Full disclosure I am an Apple Snob. This is my third MacBook (first MacBook Air). I have 2- 13in MacBook Pros I still use one at our church for our screens, 1 at home to use, and this new MacBook Air 15in because I’m getting old. My new job requires a lot of computer work and the 13in screen was getting to me. The new 15in is is phenomenal. I started with MacBook in 2015 and have never looked back. IMO Apple makes the best laptop on the market. My oldest is still used weekly for presentations. This 15in MacBook Air with the M3 chip is the smoothest Mac I have ever used. It is amazing the difference between the i5 and i7 chips my older MacBooks have. This model flies with nearly undetectable lag. Battery life is superb. From full charge with moderate daily use I can go three days and need to put it on the charger on day 3. It comes with the MagSafe charger so I don’t have to lose one USB-C port. I can ALSO charge with those USB-C ports. There are 2 USB-C ports, 1 Magnetic charge connection, and 1- 3.5mm headphone jack. No HDMI ports and no Ethernet port. I can use the USB-C ports for added display outs with adapters. Which works fine for me.

    15" is a great machine

I am an Apple household and have 2MBP 14, 1 MBP 16 and have owned the Airs M3 in 15 and 13. I really do like the Air best but there are some downsides to consider between the Air and Pro. My true wish is a thin like Air with Pro power! If that is ever released I will be all over this type of machine. The Good: M3 is a beast (I recommend 16GB for future proofing, though 8 will work depending on your use case it can get clunky at times). Consider your use case carefully. The machine is very nicely built, thin and 13" is a great weight the 15" is a decent weight but it is quite big to carry around, not impossible but large. Screen: The 15" screen is very good but the Pros are far better. There is something about the 15" that is a bit off for me (I think the way the resolution is or screen rendering for retina) the way it comes standard is a smidge blurry for me. The 13 doesn't have this impact and the screens are supposed to be the same technology. The colors are OK (again Pro is far better) and it's not quite as bright as I like it to get. But they are fine overall. But I recommend you check both types out at a store. Weight/layout: Great! The 13 is amazing for portability! The 15 is great if it is your only machine the extra real estate is amazing. But again check out the rendering. I love the overall weight and thin ratio they are phenomenal in that regard. The lack of ports is a downer. Especially on the 15 where there is plenty of space. Overall: I highly recommend this machine for the right user. If you value thin and light this is for you. If you pro power you generally know it but the M3 is a phenomenal chip for almost all users. Consider 16GB for future proofing the machine as they are built quite well and should last years.

Much faster processor that was in my 2009 MacBook Pro. And faster than my 10.5 inch IPad. The only thing missing are the extra ports that came with the very early model. I like the fingerprint ID.

Much fast than my 2013 Macbook Pro. However, Apples decision not to include any USB or HDMI ports is frustrating and stupid.
