Good sound, poor build quality and repair options

I’ve had these for 1.5 years now. They sound good, but have poor build quality and Apple doesn’t have any meaningful repair process. Skip these and go get the Sony, the Bose, anything but the beats. Good news: they sound really good (better than studio 3), the ear pads durability is fixed vs studio 3, the noise cancelling and transparency are decent, and they work well with iOS and android Bad news: they’ve been creaky since the day I got them. You move your head? Audible creaking. Worse is that the headphones have cracked on their own, completely ridiculous. I’ve got 15 year old headphones I used more and they never cracked. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the crack until after the one year warranty ended. Apple, a company that says they love the environment, won’t repair the headphones or give replacement parts. Instead they’ll do a unit swap for 200 dollars, which is nuts because that’s what these go on sale for

One side of the headphones started getting loose and broke within 3 months of purchase from my teen putting them on and off. Best buy wouldnt do anything. Apple said it wasnt covered under warranty. The headphones had good ratings so I didnt know this was a common issue with these until it happened to my son and then I did more research. I bought the a replacement piece that YouTubers recommend to fix it ourselves, but so far we haven't been able to unscrew the headphones. 6 months later we still cant finad anyone to fix them.

    Disappointed with Quality and Features

I was really excited about these headphones, but unfortunately, they did not meet my expectations. They’re not truly noise-canceling, which was a big letdown, especially at this price point. The sound quality is average—definitely not as high-quality as I had hoped. I also didn’t realize there’s no mic, so these are only good for listening to music and can’t be used for calls or meetings. Overall, they feel pretty basic and nothing special for the cost. I expected more and wouldn’t recommend them if you’re looking for premium features. The connectivity is great though because they connect like AirPods.

I tried replacing this under my 1 yr. parts and 1 yr. labor warranty. However, you need another warranty on top of that- Apple Care. Big waste of money! Amazon has wireless headphones like these for $30. They are more durable.

    Aux input - poor design

My needs for this are probably not typical, but I’m writing this in case there’s another musician who wants to use the aux input. You cannot both use the aux input and Bluetooth at the same time. Also the headphones jack is designed in such a way that it only works with their proprietary 1/8 in headphone jack. I bought a longer headphone cable because i wanted to hear my guitar (and also stream music from my phone) but only the beats cable fits in the aux jack. My goal to use these to both hear my guitar and play something over my phone to practice to was a total failure.

    Dollar Store Quality.. Luxury Price

Beats quality has decreased over the years. This review may sound nitpicky, but compared to the Beats I’ve used in the past, these new models are a joke. I purchased these after using the Beats Solo Pro (an older version) for years, and I was immediately disappointed with the Studio Pro’s quality. The plastic felt cheap, the padding was stiff and uncomfortable, and the buttons had a flimsy feel. Even the way these headphones turn on and off is poorly designed compared to previous, smarter models. Hoping it was just the over-ear design I didn’t like, I decided to try the Beats Solo 4, thinking they’d be similar to my previous Solo Pro. Unfortunately, the quality was just as bad. The padding was even stiffer and noticeably thinner compared to my old Beats, which you can clearly see in the photos. I tried to overlook these issues and give them a fair chance, but they were simply too uncomfortable to keep on. I ended up returning them the next day. The only thing I liked about these headphones was the color. I’ve since switched to Sony and have been very pleased. It’s disappointing that I had to take my business elsewhere, but Beats just isn’t what it used to be.

Sound quality is good but volume is low, not much bass, noise cancellation is good but spoty, feels good and fits good on head but made a bit cheap clicking and snapping sounds when u try to use buttons and fold them . The previous beats are 10x better aka solo3

    1. Sound Quality: Not great, maybe because I'm coming from Sony's wh-1000xm4 and those definitely have deeper, but clearer sounds. The volume is too low, not enough bass. 2. Fit/Comfort: I don't understand why these are marketed as Over-the-ear headphones. With the smaller ear cups, these are definitely not over the year. My ears are pressed like pancakes against my head. I remember when Beats first just came out and early iterations showed improvement year after year. Now apple with its overall lack of innovation and just riding it's brand name and fanbase, continues to put out poor products. 3. Build Quality: To be fair, I think it's almost on par with most headphones out there now days, they're obviously all made from plastic. What I will say is, that my previous Beats Studio's cups all pilled after a year, whereas my Sony's faired pretty well. So only time will tell how durable these will be. 4. Price: After saying all of the above for the regular of $349.99 + Tax, they're 100% not worth it. However, for the discounted price of $159.99 during Black Friday, they're more reasonable. If you're a person though, that has a fine ear for music, or movies, even at the discounted price, you won't enjoy them. This feedback of-course is my own opinion based on my experience and what I like. Obviously, other people seem to like it, so. Hope this helps someone make their decision.

    Absolute Pile of Hot Garbage!

I used to use the Bose Noise-Cancelling headphones, but for this last Black Friday, I noticed the new Beats had a better deal and I know it is a popular brand. I have been paying for it ever since. I use Noise-Cancelling headphones for work (I work from home) and used them for taking virtual meetings. The first red flag was the microphone quality. Every meeting someone complained they could barely understand what I was saying. My old pair of Bose headphones never had that problem. I solved this by using an old podcast microphone I had, but now I need to setup 2 devices to take a meeting. The next red flag was Bluetooth connection. Now, this may not seem like a problem to some, because the connection itself was fine, but my Beats were connecting to my desktop and phone at the same time, and if I wanted to use my phone without my Beats, I had to shut off my Bluetooth completely because even if I disconnected my Beats from my phone, the Beats would keep automatically connecting. This gets extremely annoying when trying to do 2 things at once. And now we come to today, about 6 months after purchase, where my left earphone just blew up. It is making a loud white noise sound making it impossible to hear anything. And it's not like I listen to music or any sound loudly enough to make it do that. My Beats are now useless. I could not be more upset about a purchase, especially considering the price tag that came with this product. I never should have switched away from my Bose, which I only had to replace because the stitching on the ear pads ends up ripping open after a while. Calling these headphones "Hot Garbage" might be an insult to hot pieces of garbage.

So disappointing, might return. I have had beasts headphone in the past (Studio I think) and it was loud and had bass, which I loved. I had to get a new headphone bc one side broke (they were fragile back then) and it got worn out from use. So I got the Sony WH-1000XM3 wasn't as loud as the studio but wasn't bad and it had good features. Now, the Sony is worn out and I decided to go back to beats to get back that loud/bass sound, since I use them a lot for working out. BUT it's not loud at all and the bass is so low. The Sony sound a little louder and has a more bass. The Sony had a voice indicator that tell you when you are switching in between features (Ex: If you switch to noise cancellation, it will tell you. which I thought was great but seems like Beats doesn't have that. I also feel like i have to yell "Siri" for Siri to answer. I might just return it and see if I do some more search for a headphone with bass, loudest and good features.

So where do i start… this was my first reintroductuon to over the ear headphones and i gotta say im severely dissapointed. Ive used gaming headsets like the turtle beach stealth, or the corsair wireless ones, and those are amazing and provide ALL day comfort. These headphones i put on for a few minutes and already they were compressing my ear area the top where you adjust the headphones is fine it feels fine on your head but once they go over your ear its like the most uncomfortable thing youll ever feel its like someone is grabbing your head with both their hands and smushing it as hard as they can. I have a pretty average size head so I definitely dont think it has anything to do with that either theyre just so uncomfortable and they cause so much pain even after a few minutes with them on. Next the transparency mode and noise cancellation, so the transparency is barely transparency ive used other headphones with the greatest transparency ever but these ones are not it, even with them on its baeely transparent it feels like any old headphones without transparency. The noise cancellation also for some reason causes a lot of pain for me on top of the tightness of these headphones the noise cancellation feels like it puts your ears in a vacuum chamber and theres just this constant pressure like the feeling that youre on an airplane and ur ears are about to pop but they dont thats what these feel like and ive had other headphones with noise cancellation and it doesnt feel that way at all. The cables feel all fine the case is okay its kind of hard to get them in and out though. They feel extremely cheap and clunky every movement u hear the creaking of the plastic it definitely doesnt seem like a 350 dollar pair of headphones even 200 wouldnt be an accurate price for these. If ur gonna listen to any review please keep mine in mind these are not even close to the best at all thwyre horrendous and im not entirely sure how they have such good ratings. The sound quality is also subpar.

Positives: They’re trendy, usually a good sale (but not good enough), and the perfect find for the teenager that likes to drown out nagging lol Negatives: Out the package and the noise-cancellation does not work. There is no difference between transparency mode and noise cancellation so there is a defect. I checked online and this is a common issue with this model of headphones (we had an earlier model with no problems). I hate spending the time and energy to return things, so this is EXTREMELY inconvenient. Another negative is the sound continues to play once you remove the headphones. I think I’m spoiled with my Apple earbuds, but I wish these headphones would have a detection, so the sound stops when there’s no ear detected. Bluetooth only connects one device at a time so we can’t connect multiple devices to the headphones. We spent way too much time trying to connect the headphones to two devices, so this was a DISAPPOINTMENT. Lastly, we purchased the chocolate brown, and the new matte finish allows for noticeable fingerprints so if you decide to buy then be ready to wipe every day. I would not recommend buying.

I was actually sold on these from the salesperson at Best Buy. they had a great sale price and connectivity features I thought would be a benefit for me. I had owned the original Beats Studio Pro when it was still owned by Dre and they were fantastic! comfort, sound quality, noise cancellation, the whole package. This was a total disappointment! Cheap materials, felt like a plastic vise on my head. I bought these for extensive plane travel and they are horrible. The ANC is a joke. You'd do better to just pull down a sweat band over your ears. I couldn't wait to land and find the nearest store to exchange them for something that actually works. something I could wear without feeling like I was being crushed in a garbage truck. I would up paying $150.00 more for another brand that is waaayy more comfortable and the ANC is flawless. I think Apple stripped Beats of all their tech and pushed it to their own device. I went with something that was not an apple device because it sound better and the noise cancelling is the best . I don't mind paying for something that is comfortable on a 5 hour or more flight that doesn't even let me know someone's baby was crying the whole flight.

This rating is because of the post sale service I recieved not the Beats Studio Pros. I never used these headphones. They were a present for my wife for Christmas for use on a cruise we were taking. She decided to use her iPods instead of these. They were not use and remained unopened. Our cruise lasted until one week after the last return date by which time they could not be returned. I felt that since I had been a lotal customer for years and never returned anything, they might make an exception. No luck either in store or on the chat line. I was elevated to a chat supervisor but after 40-45 minutes I gave up waiting I don't know that the supervisor even existed, but I felt that my business was not appreciated. Yes, I was out of the country and late returning these, but am highly disappinted in not getting to talk to a person who would care about my situation. I am sure the headphones are great being that they are Beats. But, feel like mybusiness is not valued.

Very disappointed by the performance. I expected premium quality for these headphones. There was zero depth to the sound quality in terms of actual beat/bass. There was just 'sound' that's it. The noise canceling is apparent. Outside of that and the esthetically pleasing color options there isn't much to offer here, especially for the price. The case is pliable fabric material that is not protective of your "investment". It can easily be damaged if you're not very careful with where it's placed while traveling. These headphones seem to be more for "status" above anything else. Overall I do not recommend. Package arrived today, will be returning tomorrow.
