Premium plastic heafty price tag!!

Worst pickup experience ever. Just handed over the sound bar right to hand with no packaging or anything to carry home. Took home connected to power and played music just to see Connectivity issues. Loss of bits. And the aacent grill popping out. Not bose standards. I own lot if bose products and i love them. But not this item.

Great soundbar

I did have a very minor issue with connectivity on my 85in Samsung not turning on the soundbar overnight once I updated the software on the soundbar itself I longer have any issues and the Bose app is very easy to use and I’m very happy with it.

Great sound easy to install

I have owned many Bose products in the past and this soundbar that I paired with the SB500 subwoofer has not disappointed. I tried a different brand first trying to save a few bucks but ended up returning it in favor of the Smart Ultra. I have not experienced the connection issues that others have mentioned. Other than the firmware update that took place without warning it has performed flawlessly.

When it works.

The TV is a one yr old top of the line Samsung. Not sure if Bose is keeping up with modern circuitry, it connects as you turn on then disconnects.

Phenomenal soundbar!

Only issue I’ve experienced so far is it occasionally disconnects for no apparent reason, and then getting it to reconnect can be difficult sometimes, but the sound quality is incredible and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it!

Sometimes it will connect with the remote. Sometimes it requires a complete power cycle (I bought a remote-controlled power outlet to make that easier). But it almost NEVER just powers up connected via HDMI. Optical was worse. For this kind of money, and with the Bose name ... shame on Bose! The sound is wonderful. The surround is wonderful (as long as you also buy the rear speakers), and it can be tailored just the way I want it. I like it for sports, above all. The app is good. It's a great product, the best sound bar/rear speaker system I've ever had ,,, once it gets connected. It just shouldn't be this hard. Or this random. No product should be this random, let alone a high end product. I tried all the connectivity options in the app - none of them made it better.

Posted .Hi there - I'm happy to hear you like the sound of the Smart Ultra Soundbar per se, as well as the performance of the Bose app. If you're experiencing connectivity issues via both HDMI and optical, then the different HDMI-CEC options in the app might not be the fix. It could be that there's an issue with the TV, or with the cables between the TV and soundbar. Excellent sound, too many connection issues

The only disappointing part is I'm having a ton of connection issues over eARC hdmi. Every couple of days the soundbar will not output sound until I hard reset by unplugging it. I've tried updating firmware, resetting to factory, nothing has worked

Amazing sound but horrible connection issues.

It’s a nightmare. It constantly disconnects from tv, constantly make my tv flash when playing PS5, I know it’s the. Bose soundbar because I never had flickering issues with my old Samsung Soundbar, and it’s near connect to the app to make adjustments. It sounds great but the connectivity issues are so bad. I wish I could get a refund. Do not buy this soundbar, be a soundbar that does not require app controls.

Royal pain in the ....

Do NOT have the HDMI plugged in when setting tis bar up. The Ap will not find the device. After getting the sound bar added in the ap, wifi set, THEN connect it to the TV. After 2 days of messing arround, it worked...once! Id you turn off you TV, good luck trying to get it to work again. The biggest problem, is having to use an AP to use this system it is a terrible and unnecessary interface between the TV and the sound bar. GET RID OF THE NEED FOR AN AP! I returned this Bose sound bar out of frustration. Too bad, it sounded beautiful the couple of times it cooperated. Just not worth the hassle.

Have to use Bose App

Had to unplug and replug the bar in daily for the sound to be heard from my TV. Way too much trouble so I returned it and bought a Sony Theater 8 bar and am much happier.

Connectivity is lackluster

Spoke with several people from tech support and they had to replace our unit. The new unit works, but still has connectivity issues. Everything is connected correctly and we have ample wifi for the unit. With the price it shouldn't have this many issues.

Bose sometimes great sometimes good and sometimes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always buy Bose some products are great others are finicky this is that finicky one I upgraded from the 700 for the ai sound voice feature seems like it works but the constant disconnects from your device the constant not turning on when you turn tv or cable box on has me calling tech support 5 times since Christmas Day. Extremely annoying and frustrating I just can’t get it to work consistently
