It does not turn on automatically. The app is confusing and has too many features that are hard to understand for an ordinary person. There are hardly any useful buttons on the soundbar. No power on indicator on the bar. The volume on TV does not have a number and only plus minus signs show. Will not be buying a Bose product again.

If you're having HDMI-CEC issues, e.g. with the soundbar not turning on automatically, go to Settings > Power > HDMI Power and Audio in the Bose app and try the different options there. One of them should resolve the issues you're having.
