    Design and programming flaws.

The sound is amazing. My only issues are design and programming flaws. The buttons are indented, all joined together and smooth so they’re hard to press for anyone with nails, and you can’t press them in the dark. It doesn’t stand up well on anything other than a hard, flat surface. Mostly, I hate that you can’t power it off with the app. I don’t like that it continues to make a chime noise every minute rather than auto power off (like it’s programmed to do) if it’s not connected to anything. So for example I use it with my tv at night. If I want to go to sleep I turn my tv off, but the speaker will chime every minute because the Bluetooth disconnected. And rather than it just power off after not being used for 5 mins, it will continue to alarm every min. So I have to physically get up out of bed to turn it off. I want to be able to turn it off in the app or for it to not make a chime noise. But there’s no option for that. There’s an option to turn off the voice in the app but that doesn’t stop the chimes. Kinda frustrating in this day and age.

    Decent but needs a tweeter!

It would have been a perfect speaker with a tweeter. While the sound stage is wide it is not well defined. The bass over powers any highs. It's all mids and bass. I initially love the speaker until I compared it to the beats pill which was actually a real shocker since I am not an Apple fan at all! But Apple definitely nailed this product. I was also extremely disappointed in the Sony Ult Field One. The bass (which I absolutely love on Sony's headphones) sounds horrible choppy and The passive radiators sound like they are going to pop in not a good way. So close Bose.

Great Speaker, But Needs a Big Red Toggle Switch

Wonderful sound but somewhat hard to turn on and off due to its heavy rubber cladding. Switch often does not engage, and battery status is often garbled. Disappointing that this small glitch makes a return likely.

I'm glad you like the sound performance of your SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen speaker! The speaker's physical controls are designed to be easy to operate; however, if you're finding the power button difficult to operate, pushing down with a fingernail or thumbnail should help. As for the "garbled" battery status, we'd like to know more about what exactly is happening there, so please do get in touch: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US. Impressive sound output in a small package! I can't provide an separate rating for value, however, so I will say I think these speakers are overpriced for what you're getting and my rating is lower as a result.

Bought this on sale for $119.00. The price isn't bad for whats on offer but I am somewhat disappointed in the volume. I expected the BOSE brand to deliver a much higher volume setting than it has.

I’ve had it for a few weeks already. The battery on it dies really fast considering the few times I’ve used it. The speaker is not loud either. But other than that, color is cute and size is convenient. It does charge fast too.

I returned it. The sound was good but the buttons are difficult. You have to press them more than one time to turn it on or off and the indicator lights don't seem to operate at the same time. Too bothersome to be bothered with.

I've always been a big fan of bose speakers but this one does not have great battery length. I will use it for 30 minutes and it will go from 100% battery to 40%.

Hi Alex, thanks for leaving your feedback on the SoundLink Flex 2nd Gen. You can expect roughly 12 hours at average listening volumes. This can reduce if you play it at maximum volume.

Please see this page for additional troubleshooting assistance regarding shorter than expected battery life. https://bose.life/40b5LQH.

Music lover review... Nice but . . .

Purchased 3/14/25 ... This is the cutest speaker . . . I purchased the teal color. I was completely blow away by the sound in the store, amazing. Unfortunately, when I brought it home I wasn't impressed in comparison w/ my JBL $99 speaker. Also if you are a music lover you will on get 5 hours of play time if your volume is over 50%. I love to clean and listen to music and not even half way through my day battery was less than 30%. Other than that nice product. But I will be sending mine back due to the short battery life.
