I purchased these to fill my living room space. We have a movie room, so I didn't want a full blown surround sound system with towering speakers and such. These b&with seamed to fit the bill. All I can say is WOW! Not quite the fullness as my 685s and 686s, but they sound great. I also have a 10" sub which helps make up for the size deficiency of these speakers.

There simply is no down side to these speakers, allowing that no premium product of any sort can be purchased for a low dollar amount. But even at about $250.00 each, these speakers are worth the price in spades. There is hardly anywhere these speakers cannot be placed, fixed or hung, even on top of your head, if you like, by mounting them on a bike helmet or other head gear. Aside from that, their compact size and style allows you to locate them as inconspicuously as possible, to least detract from your interior décor. Last but very pointedly not least is their sound quality. Their wide frequency range and clarity, and their capacity of making speech intelligible at low volume levels is a thing of wonder.

Phenomenal sound in this small package! I integrated into my system powered by SonosAmp and pairs with Sonos gen3 subwoofer and we couldn’t be happier with the crystal clear high end and beautiful midrange these gems are capable of. Solid and dense sound when you thump the side-no unwanted resonance here! Just the look alone is amazing but the sound that the M-1 can reproduce is really impressive! Bravo and these should be a “Go-To” for a smaller size speaker. Ingenious placement of the adjustment tool in the base/bottom support of the speaker-you’ll never forget where that oddball wrench is because it’s stored in the base! Brilliant design touch.

    Bowers & Wilkins M1MB / Open Box - Satisfactory

These small speakers more than exceed their size and sound great. I'm using for front surround for my Sony TV and stereo with a Yamaha receiver. ** My only complaint is I purchased two as open box/ satisfactory condition. So I was prepared for minor nicks or marks on them. One of the two came in original box and was actually near perfect condition. The other was in unmarked carton. This 2nd speaker has been used to the point that the swivel function left-right or up-down is warn out. So this one only only points down. ** So I would recommend for purchase. Just beware of open box product.

The colors couldn't have matched my walls better. Aesthetics are perfect. When you crank up the volume the sound is way above my expectations. Do yourself a favor. Spend the money and by the BW complete set. Anything less is just, well... Less.

I purchased 3 of these speakers as Open box items. Fortunately, I planned to mount them in my theater and did not need the missing bookshelf stands. They work perfectly in my 7.2 surround sound system as front and center speakers.

I purchased the B&W speaker to use as a center channel after discussing my options with the Magnolia specialist. I was originally thinking of a dedicated center channel speaker but I was limited with the amount of room I had beneath my TV. The specialist recommended this speaker even though it is used as a bookshelf speaker. I could not be happier with this product.

These Bowers & Wilkins M1 speakers are replacement for my JBL 25 years old surround speakers. They sound absolutely amazing no matter what you throw at them, I listen to a lot of reggae. They are configured as large in my speaker setup in my Denon AVR-S760H receiver. I use them for center, 2 surrounds & 2 rear surrounds. For the front I’m using 2 Polk Audio and a 12’ Klipsch subwoofer. I’m absolutely loving them and I would definitely recommend them. You definitely can’t go wrong with them

I had my doubts on these being so small. Like Bose...No highs...no lows.... However, I was pleasantly surprised using these on a second zone for music in a small room/office setting using a Yamaha RX-A4A. Incredibly crisp and clear sound even with some elevated volume. They are by no means an audiophile level speaker, however, they seem well built and to my ear better than your run-of-the mill entry r-series Klipsch or similar speaker. For the majority of people, they will enjoy these within a practical use environment such as TV/movie watching and casual music listening. A case could be definitely argued that these would make a fine 5.2 system in a small to medium sized home theater with say, a couple affordable JL Audio D110's... ;). I'd try it. =)

I bought these speakers to complete my collection for my surround sound. I like the fact that they're really small and a little more inconspicuous. They sound really good keep in mind they are Bowers and Wilkins so the quality is there so, the price is to be expected. Don't get me wrong the price is really fair for quality in my opinion. If you're looking for a small good sounding speaker this is the one for you.

Our theater room size is approx 40' x 15' and we have a 7.1 Pioneer Elite receiver head-unit. We have speaker wire buried in our walls so our choices were limited as to what bookshelf speakers we could buy. The the "on the floor" sales guy at the Signal Hill Magnolia Room really knew his stuff and convinced me to listened to several brands but left the B&W's for last. There was no comparison to the other bookshelf speakers-these blew me away. The highs, mids and lows are crisp and clear. Music sounds much more "mature" than my previous set of speakers. Movie audio is much more enjoyable. I listened to several bookshelf speakers most of which made music sound louder, however movie quality audio was lacking or vice versa. The B&W's were a perfect balance for both music and theater audio. The only negative is that it took a little while to mount them as the B&W's have a unique mounting bracket-The time spent mounting was well worth the quality that I received in the end. I'm very happy and plan to get another pair for the garage.

I included four of the Bowers & Wilkins 4" satellite speakers in a 5.1 setup together with a Bowers & Wilkins 700 series Center Channel speaker. Before my purchase, I did extensive research on the speakers. I also requested a demo at my local Best Buy Magnolia store. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. While they are small in size compared to floor standing speakers, they worked perfectly in a 15' x 15' room. Their size also allow them to not be an eye sore, as I did not want to have huge speakers in a small room. If you have a similar size room, I definitely recommend these speakers. They provide more than enough sound to fill the room. On a side note, there have been several instances where my family and I have been fooled by the surround sound, thinking someone else was either knocking on the door or thinking someone else was in the room talking. If you're on the fence, go to a Best Buy Magnolia store to hear for yourself how good they really are.

I setup these speakers in my home office mostly to listen to music. The sound is so impressive out of a relatively small set of speakers. Bowers and Wilkins always have such a great sound and the quality you get for the price is definitely worth it.

Incredible sound for such a small speaker. I bought 3 and use one as a center speaker and it doesn't matter if I'm listening to music, watching tv, or watching a blue ray these speakers create a clear, crisp sound. You can feel the quality when you pick up the speaker because of the weight and how solid the speaker feels. One can tell the time and craftsmanship which went into creating the speaker. The only downside is that the largest wire you can use is 14 gauge. 12 guage wire is to large to fit into the inputs. Otherwise I highly recommend them.
