So if you have a 2 or 2.1 system and you are unsure on how this will help your experience. Here's what I can assure you: Set the settings from your receiver from stereo to digital, pro logic I or II (etc.) and all the sound you hear coming from the front/rear speakers will go straight to the center channel that will now focus on the dialogue, music, bringing it out toward you filling your room and the bookshelf speaker will now purely focus on the background noise. It will truly be worth the investment and will bring you closer to that sound you want for your very own home theater.

With limited verticle space, I was seeking a compact center channel speaker that could handle the output from a Denon X3000 7.2 amp. It is paired with a set of Klipsch up front. For balance, the amp setting is booster for ProCenter 1000 by about 2 dB over the Klipsch. My comparables are a Sony HT-ST9 Sound Bar and a 20-yr old Infinity with dual 5" drivers. As expected, the ProCenter 1000 is lighter on the audio depth but far superior to the sound bar. Voice clarity is there, but that really depends on the movie sound track (which seems quite variable from Charter cable) with some movies driving more into the bass (subs) and surround tracks; or perhaps I need to twerk my settings a bit more. The fit and finish are superb! Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase.

This smaller speaker will amaze your ears. Whether it is the low whisper of dialog or the high intensity of an action scene the clarity is truly second to none within the size (5 x 5 1/4 x 5) and price point of this speaker. I've found that you can not go wrong with Definitive Technology products.

Sounds good. I ended up returning and upgrading to the DT 8040 because it was a better sound at an open box price. Prior to returning, the speaker was awesome. Used in my tailgate trailer.

I am really pleased with my new Definitive Technology center channel speaker. I wanted something as small as possible, but with good sound quality, and I found it in this speaker. When the speakers on my TV went out, I enlisted the help of my friend who has a surround sound system which he installed himself after researching numerous speakers and receivers. Since the TV picture was still working fine, we decided to install a receiver and bypass the TV speakers entirely. I used my old stereo speakers which were OK, but once we added the center channel speaker what a tremendous difference it made for the better. Since I had to place the speaker on a table under the TV which also had a sculpture and some other decorative pieces, I wanted as small a speaker as possible. The Definitive fit that need perfectly. At just over 14 inches wide by 5 inches deep, this speaker is one of the smallest I looked at, but the amazing thing is that it sounds like a much larger speaker. My friend, who has a much more expensive Definitive center speaker ended up buying this one as well.

I decided to upgrade to this seriously great-sounding Center channel from the already-potent proCenter 600 (which I acquired via purchasing the Procinema 600 system at Best Buy in a great package deal along with the equally impressive Denon AVR-X1200 7.1 receiver with Dolby Atmos & DTS-X). As it is, the Procinema 600 is a very impressive system, with far bigger sound than its diminutive size. But, seeing how I was pushing them to just about their limit, I decided to do the right thing and upgrade the 3 front channels to '1000-status' and relegate the 600s to the side and back surround duties.... It is simply the best audio decision I have ever made! The ProCenter 1000 was actually the last missing piece... The first order of business was to upgrade the 2 main front left/rights as the 600s were quite excellent for movies but a little strained playing music at higher volume levels. Adding the Promonitor 1000s was the first giant leap...what beautifully detailed and punchy sound...They can handle anything you throw at them! So, for a month or so, the lineup was the Promonitor 1000s as the main left-rights, the 600 sats for side/back surrounds, pro-sub 600 subwoofer for LFE and the ProCenter 600 continuing in its center-role. I was quite thrilled with this configuration at first, but then I noticed that the 600 Center (which still performs amazingly well) would sometimes get a bit lost in louder sequences and I didn't want to stress it out, so I 'bit the bullet' and decided the best answer was to.spring for this, the substantially larger and beefier ProCenter 1000... Hello home theater bliss! To be clear, the 600 is a superb system, but if you like to really push the volume, then the 1000s are the way to go. The 1000s - including the ProCenter 1000 - deliver incredibly robust midrange, clean highs and respectable mid-bass. Whereas the the 600 sometimes required increasing the volume to cut through the louder 1000 monitors during loud sequences, the ProCenter 1000 effortlessly delivers dynamic, punchy effects and clean, distortion-free dialog while seamlessly blending with the tonally-matched Promonitor left/rights. It's worth every penny of its very-reasonable $220 price tag. In fact, it sounds about twice as expensive as it is. Definitive Technologies is the real deal if you want a top-shelf home theater experience on a modest budget. Highly recommended!

Wow!!! Just WOW!! I hear everything I'm suppose to hear. This is replacing a Bic America CCS. That was a BIG speaker. Speech is crisp bass is great and not overpowering . Easy to set up. I live in a trinity so I have a 3.1 system. Deftech CC a pair of Deftech 1000 for left and right and an Onkyo sub that ll soon to be replaced with a Deftech sub.

I originally bought the B&W center speaker to match my floor speakers and subwoofer. Unfortunately, my TV is only about 4" above the piece of furniture underneath it, so the B&W center speaker blocked part of the bottom of the TV (it is 6.5" tall). I begrudgingly brought the B&W back and listened to every center speaker Best Buy had. This one, despite its size (short enough to not block my TV), was amazing. The highs during music are unbelievable and the sound in general is very, very good. I honestly think I prefer the sound to the larger, more robust B&W center. This speaker was also half the price of the B&W so it was a win-win. This is a great center channel and an even better value. The fact that it is much smaller is icing on the cake.

First I will say that I did return this product but the why I did was the important part.... It was because it blew me away at what this little speaker could do. I originally purchased it to replace an older center channel that I needed to fit into a small height. Once I heard the sound I could help but go all in! I returned the single center channel and replaced all my system with Definitive Technology speaker package and I am estatic at the amazing sound, found myself to using it more than I ever had before!

On the entry level/budget friendly side of the home entertainment speakers. compared to other center channel speakers in a similar price point its on the smaller end. if placing on an entertainment center it takes up little space, but also has the ability to be wall mounted as well. has a nice crisp sound thats really help dialogue for watching TV/movies and crisp vocals when listening to music.

Last year I bought Definitive Technology's outdoor speakers from Best Buy and have been amazed at how great they sound. Began researching center channel speakers after getting more and more annoyed with the poor weak sound coming through my 10+ yr old Bose center channel. Got the Def Tech and immediately noticed a huge improvement. These are also so much more powerful I had to reset my gain setting on my AVR. Only bad thing is now I'm fighting the urge to swap out my mains and surround sound with Def Techs!

I purchased this center to line up with my PB8060ST L/R. I couldn't be happier. My setup consists of the 8060ST + a Bose Lifestyle 15 as my rears + front high (as Atmos). I have the 5th Bose as my center for a while, but visually, it just wasn't appealing. This center has an extremely small footprint, great for underneath a flat screen. The sound is incredible -- crisp with zero distortion even at high volume. Great center especially if you currently have Definitive Technology.

I am so happy with the quality and performance of sound that comes out of these speakers. I had the same surround speakers for about 17 years until I bought these. The price in speakers has really gone up but so has the quality. These speakers are twice the size of Sony’s I had before but way better. Definitely happy with my purchase!

The bass drivers on either end of this unit helps fill in where a subwoofer would be. Living in an appartment, we ge everything we need in sound quality from a three speaker set, with this one in the middle also providing the low end. This setup doesn't rattle the windows so the neighbors are'nt annoyed, yet we still enjoy ample sound quality in our small space.

I came into the store to buy a Klipsch center channel. The store did not have that item in stock, and I was talked into buying this one by the Magnolia specialist. I am happy with the purchase. I'm no audiophile so I can't use the flowery language like "this one feels warmer than the Klipsch, etc." Specification wise-this speaker is miles ahead of the competition, and the price is not too much higher.

I was worried this center would sound small and tinny and thin but boy was I shocked in our room. I’m sure as usual bigger is better but I do not think you will be disappointed at all with this speaker. You can also adjust or aim the speaker with a screw on the back up and down. I bought the Sony bookshelf speakers and was going to buy Sony center so all would match but was out of stock and with recommendation of BB manager I-tested this speaker. Do not worry about the “ timbre matching” there is validity to some of that but in my opinion unless you are spending a ton more money and are a total audiophile it’s not a deal breaker. Oh and by the way this center channel is with a Sony 1080 receiver the voices are cleaner than my Atmos enabled 1000+ dollar sound bar. I wish at the time I could have bought L and R channel Definitive Speakers just to compare to the highly rated Sony’s (which are good I will add) because the Definitive Center is really that good in our situation.
