What a disappointment!

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this De'Longhi Magnifica Evo to make capppuccinos during Christmas holiday when Starbucks are closed, and also in view of glory reviews online. But this 15 bar expresso machine we received could not even make a decent cup of coffee. Initially cappuccinos made from beans were decent. It was supposed to be able to make coffee/expresso/cappuccino from pre-grinded coffee too, but it can't. When tested, about half of pre-grinded coffee were not used, but got directly dumped behind the waste bin, see attached photos. On the 3rd day today, it can't even make any coffee drink from coffee beans. Yet, its operations appear normal. Call to De'Longhi customer support were not answered. Also called Bestbuy Total Tech Support, but they couldn't help either. My high hope turned out to be a big disappointment. Maybe I got a lemon? After I cleaned all the parts (milk container alone has 4 parts to be disassembled and cleaned) to put this machine back into its box, I've made up my mind to just return it (thanks to Bestbuy's return policy), not to try another unit. For those on the fence about buying a fully automatic expresso machine, I suggest you think twice before purchase, and think about why Starbucks type of stores don't use fully automatic expresso machines.

Belongs in a junkyard

The milk container clips keeps cracking and falls apart. Once that happens the machine cannot register milk container is plugged in and the whole machine becomes useless for milk based coffee. Delonghi will never have the part in stock of you are looking to purchase it. You may find on eBay for twice the price. I have two milk containers that cracked within 8 months. Each after about 3-4 months use. This machine and any other delonghi machine belongs in a junkyard.

Disappointing De Longhi Magnifica Evo machine

Contacted the De’Longhi customer service and am awaiting for their service department to determine if it needs to be sent back and get it repaired. You would expect the machine will work at least a while but it just passed 30days and it is not working properly already. Best Buy only has 14 days return window, so I am out of luck and so disappointed!

Quality control needs improvement

When I unpacked it at home, the espresso machine had blue tape holding the plastic side pieces together. I removed the blue tape only to discover that the plastic from the left side of the machine was disconnected and bulged out. There’s no way to push it back in or reconnect it. Someone at De’Longhi or Best Buy actually tried to tape the machine together to mask the issue and sell it as if it would go undiscovered. Further, the metal cup tray was significantly bent. Very disappointed in the quality control here, especially given the costs of the espresso machine.

Awful design, infuser gets stuck

Worst of the worst

The machine does not work and the company doesn’t do anything at all they tell me to clean it. That’s their help. The machine only work for less than a month.

Frother didn’t work…

Broken coffee machine

Cannot recommend this machine

The DeLonghi was on sale, so I went with it over the Phillips. I bought my machine in July 2023 and by September I was having to send the entire machine to DeLonghi to get the milk frother serviced. At times the milk frother will spit and spew steam and no milk comes out. In September when I sent it in the machine wouldn’t register that the milk frother was attached, but it would register the hot water attachment. DeLonghi’s ticket system is extremely slow, and each response from them takes DAYS.

Not a worthy choice in my opinion

The instruction manual wasn’t even inline with the buttons on the machine, it was all confusing and definitely not user friendly in my opinion. I returned and exchanged for the Philips 4400 LatteGo machine and this is what the De'Longhi should have been.

Don't buy!

I read reviews with a lot of others saying that they had issues with the machine. Well, I should've paid more attention. The machine is dead saying no water pressure but will pour water. After an extremely aggravating phone call with customer service they will send me return shipping directions in 3-5 days. I will not have this machine for a party that I've bragged about making espresso martini's. Very disappointed. I'm giving this a very harsh review based off how quick it broke and the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

Lemon

No more "Strong Double shot" coffee or espresso

It starts to make it by grinding the coffee, but then maybe a couple drops. After that the refill bean hopper indicator appears (but it is full). I did NOT continuously use the machine.

Horrible machine

It is not capable of making 2 drinks back to back. I wake up turn the machine on let it flush the lines, try to make an espresso and the dreaded exclamation mark appears!! Too much of a hassle, I called delonghi at first they are like “grind settings need to be a certain way” not written in the manual. Honestly don’t buy this machine, it’s not worth the headache.

Internal Cleaning Issue

However, it gave an error to clean the device internally before using again, even if that was the only time we tried to pour coffee. Have to take it now to Best Buy for service, return or replacement (I hope they do not ask me to pay more for exchange as it is a gift)

After 2 weeks of fiddling with it, and not having spectacular drinks, I returned it. A shame that they can't give you one comprehensive manual/video that makes it easier.
