    Upgraded Receiver

I moved to brand new house 6months ago and wanted to upgrade man cave. I am replacing Pioneer receiver that just stop working. Set-up took about 15 minutes to calibrate with provided mic. Caught this on sale for holiday. While visiting BB, I was looking at sony, sales tech referred me to Denon. This receiver packs a punch. I noticed that if you pass-through the receiver via Hdmi it is louder, but if you run all sources to TV and use Digital Audio (Toslink cable) it's not as loud. I even reconfigured audio settings on TV and receiver and not the same. I love the fact that I can keep subwoofer on, and not hear humming noise when in standby mode like on previous receivers. I also like the various sound modes Dolby Digital Plus, Atmos, Neo 6: Cinema and multichannel are the main ones I prefer.

This works exactly as expected. It was easy to set up. It is a good size, not huge like other receivers. The sound quality is good.

Replaced my 20 year old receiver for this and big changes in technology. Sounds great, easy to setup, and learned about and use the hdmi pass through. Treble and bass control and individual speaker volume. All I need for my 5.1 system. Lots of settings to make it what you want.

    Good receiver, terrible Bluetooth

Overall I like this receiver. The sound quality is excellent. The volume is good, it's not a powerhouse but it's loud enough that it can annoy the neighbors and you don't need to turn it up that loud. I would give it 5 stars but the Bluetooth is just about useless. Sometimes it connects good, most of the time it takes multiple attempts to connect and sometimes it won't connect at all. If the Bluetooth was adequate I would be very happy with it. I have 8 other Bluetooth devices that connect effortlessly so it's pretty cheesy that this one stringless struggles so much with it. I thought about returning it over the Bluetooth issues.

This is a great receiver. Easy to use, blue tooth is great except you are not able to blue tooth a speaker to it or it would be rated a 5 star, radio works great, tv sound is awesome with our surround sound speakers.

This amp was very easy to set up, compatible with most of my existing 5.1 surround system, and has great sound quality. I am very pleased. The only issue I ran into was that my old bose sub was incompatible.

I'm using it with existing speakers from an older system. I Iike the on-screen set up instructions to balance the speakers and also for making personalized adjustments. I did NOT like that the instructions did not specifically tell me that the output from the DVR needs to go the the ARC input port on the receiver. It took me a long time to figure that out. I was also please about the 2year warranty

Good receiver if your speakers don’t require large amounts of power to drive. This unit ran smoothly for my set up and handled heat distribution really well. Simple set up and easy interface to navigate. If you want to just turn on a unit and have it work this would be a solid option.

I've got a lot of old and new AV devices hooked up to this receiver and it handles them all like a champ. I chose not to run all my video through the receiver and instead pipe the audio for everything on my TV to the Denon via a single HDMI cable utilizing ARC. The receiver still works great with this setup and recognizes all audio formats.

This receiver was bought for my girlfriends apartment. I supplied her with (2) Klipsch RP-8000F tower speakers and (1) Klipsch 12 inch SPL-120 subwoofer. She already had a Samsung 65 inch smart television and needed a power source to bring it all together. Considering that she is in an apartment, it was important to have a power source that did not provide overwhelming power, but provided a richer, fuller sound than the television. We were successful with this entry-level receiver. Connections were simple and she is extremely pleased with the Bluetooth capability. This receiver also provides additional HDMI inputs as she purchases additional components.

I really liked this receiver but I returned only because I needed to be above 45 in volume to start hearing conversation and sound effects from the movies! Note: I used an HDMI ARC cable and I have a Sony OLED TV.

Hello, and thank you for your feedback. The receiver's distortion levels are accurate to max volume of 98. Depending on the connected speakers, a volume level of 75 can be expected during reference volume levels. Adjustments can be made in the setup menu using the Test Tone feature.
