Powerful Frigidaire Disposal
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not even a month ago, the disposal that came with the house I bought in 2019 died on me. Replaced an old Badger 1/2 HP with this 3/4 HP big boy. My experience is going to be doing a replacement instead of a new install. Luckily my house came with an outlet beneath my sink area so power was no issue for me. Make sure to take a look under your sink to see if that will be an issue. The box came with everything needed to either replace an old disposal or simply install it fresh except for the hose to your dishwasher (so you will use the existing one). Start to finish took me about 40 minutes as this was the 2nd ever I have replaced so I was reading the installation guide like crazy. Very easy to follow along so you don't miss anything. Even though this Frigidaire is bigger than my old Badger, it fit perfectly into the existing piping. Though I did remove and did a thorough cleaning job on all the pipes. It twisted and mounted perfectly into the existing clamp and locked into place. Removed and replaced all seals to make sure a tight, leak-free fit and then it was off to the races. Disposal itself is a lot powerful and quieter than my old unit and chewed up a family of four's uneaten meals with no effort. A cool and neat feature is the installation of the magnetic ring that fits near the neck of the unit. It is supposed to catch metal utensils or maybe even a metallic ring before it gets shredded to oblivion or damaged. Overall I am highly satisfied with Frigidaire and this well built disposal.

Easy to install! Fully insulated makes it quiet.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, what you do say when reviewing a garbage disposal? I opened the box and found all the necessary items I would need to install the unit. There was the stout ¾ horsepower unit with pigtail installed, the mounting/drain assembly, rubber sink baffle, the downpipe with flange and bolts, and stopper. This unit is replacing a very inexpensive no-name one-third horsepower unit that’s about 12 years old. It’s loud and as basic as one can get. I unplugged the old unit, removed the airgap hose, and loosened the downpipe connection. The old one came right out. I was worried the Frigidaire unit was much taller and would require me to move or change the pipe configuration, but the airgap inlet and the downpipe are located in just about the same place. Only the unit below the tailpipe is longer. I installed the downpipe, tightened the airgap hose on the Frigidaire, and put it back in. It took just a few minutes. Oh yeah, I did punch out the knockout on the airgap inlet, just for those wondering. If I didn’t, I’d have a mess probably down the road when I ran the dishwasher, or the pipes backed up. For those in states that don’t require an airgap, it’s a ‘Y’ pipe under the sink, next to the faucet, and has an overflow cover that will allow backed-up water to flow back into the sink. Now that the unit was installed, I plugged it into the dedicated 110v outlet, turned on the cold water, and flipped the switch. It sounded like it was stuck. It hardly made a sound. I turned it off and put about forty ice cubes in it and fired it up again with the water running. It ground them up in a flash and then sounded stuck again. It works, I’m just used to my old cheap one making a ton of noise. The Frigidaire unit is nice and quiet with the sound-deadening insulated shell! Things that make this unit better or worse than my old one. The rubber splash guard is removable. That’s nice since food gunk builds up under it. It just pops in and you can hear it click as you press in four different spots. I’ll be able to take it out safely and give it a good scrub and rinse. The internals are stainless steel. I’m hoping that means less or no rust. The old one looked like it was left on a beach for years and you couldn’t tell where the rust started, and the metal ended. The most obvious benefit is the horsepower. Going for 1/3 to 3/4 hp makes for a quick grind. The unit is heavy and balanced, even though its outer shell is plastic. The only negative I’ve discovered, and it may not be a negative is there is no key slot on the bottom to spin the motor should it jam. The instructions state it has anti-jam features, but also say that if the blades should get stuck and not move, I have to revert to what my parents did back in the 60s. That is to stick a wooden handled broomstick in the unit and work it back and forth to dislodge the blades and stuck item. No biggie, at least Frigidaire put that in the instructions so it can be done safely, and I know that it won’t damage the unit. Lastly, even though it’s a bit longer, it doesn't take up much more real estate under the sink and what I had stored there, is still there and I didn’t need to make room for it to fit. I’d recommend this unit to anyone wanting to replace and/or upgrade their current garbage disposal.

Out with the old in with the New
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first impression of the garbage disposal was WOW its huge. My old one is half the size of this one. The instillation was pretty easy , like I said I already had one installed. I simply unscrew the old one and attached the new one. But even if you had to do it from zero its still pretty easy to install, its not brain surgery. The garbage disposal comes with a removable splash guard in which it will help keep out all that nasty leftover food and odors. It grinds the food nicely without leaving any in the disposal. This garbage disposal comes with a magnetic band that can be install around the bottom part, which will help keep out any metals going into the disposal. I always drop small metal utensils and it scares me one day they will break into million pieces but with this magnetic band I don't have to worry about that. As for the noise of the garbage disposal, In my opinion is about the same as the old one. Its not too quiet. Unless it has the splash guard then Yes its on the quiet side but other than that sounds like any other. Overall this is a great garbage disposal definitely gets the job done.

Excellent Garbage Disposal
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Frigidaire 3/4 hp garbage disposal does an amazing job of powering through loose food and small particles that collect in the sink or go down the drain. The unit is pretty simple to install. Please make sure you have the proper space under your sink. The motor is pretty quiet. This Frigidaire garbage disposal does not make an excessive amount of noise or vibration which I really appreciate. Especially when washing dishes late at night when the family and kids are asleep. There are no issues with clogging or jamming. This disposal runs smooth every time I turn it on. Every food item that has been rinsed down the drain is disposed of with ease. The kit includes everything you need to complete the installation. The total installation time was approximately 40 minutes for me. I did pre-prep the work area before getting started, but that only to 10 minutes. The Frigidaire 3/4 HP Corded Garbage Disposal is a quality unit that does just what it is designed to to do. It handles the intend functionality effortlessly. It is built with solid material. All of the required attachments fit snug. The design is pretty nice as well. Even though it's a not visual focus area, it looks really nice under there sink. Goes well with the cabinetry. I highly recommend this Frigidaire 3/4 HP Corded Garbage Disposal. I has the power to handle all of your common household disposal needs.

Almost a direct drop-replacement for our old one. Purchased specifically for the under-cabinet size, as well as the stainless steel blades.

Great upgrade for my old disposal.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never owned a new garbage disposal as everyplace that I have lived always had them already and never needed replacement. Now that I am a homeowner, I have finally found myself in a situation where I was in need of a new garbage disposal. I am relatively handy but by no means a contractor, plumber, or electrician and I had no trouble installing this garbage disposal went smoothly and with relative ease. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Not only does it grind through food waste with ease, it is much quieter than my previous one which is a huge pluse. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new garbage disposal. It is well worth every penny. The size of it is a plus as well. It fits nicely under my kitched sink without taking up all the space under the sink. It leaves plenty of room for other things under the sink. I tend to put more down the garbage disposal then I probably should, but since upgrading to this new garbage disposal, I have not had a single issue.
