    Well, I used it for almost 2 months before writing the review. To start off, it requires multiple cycles to dry off clothes. Just last Saturday, a full load of wash (mixed bag), sweat pants, jeans, T shirts and socks took 3 cycles of 2 hours each, 6 hours to dry off! Ridiculous! I would not recommend it to anyone. Secondly, the door lock is cheap and it’s made with inferior quality. To open and close the door you need to hold the dryer with one hand so that it doesn’t move. Very poor design.

    Waiting for my next electric bill

    I have to put it on 90 min setting 2 times just to get my clothes to dry and im not even doing big loads, sometimes just 2 pairs of jeans, u4 shirts, a towel, some socks and underwear. I already called GE they sent some dummy out who blamed it on my vent being clogged but i just cleaned it out and my old dryer from 2013 did not take this long to dry a huge load before cleaning my vent so he doesnt know what hes talking about. Also every time it stops drying there is so much lint all around the door like its not all going into the lint catcher.

    This set is very loud. It’s large but very noisy. I wouldn’t recommend this set with someone that has a open floor plan in there home. The washer wash’s hood but to loud. The dryer is really loud as well.

    Fire Hazard

    After owning this dryer for a little over a year, my dryer stopped heating. After dismantling the dryer, I discovered that the heating element wire caught fire and damaged the heating element terminal, and now I have to replace both parts for over $175. This is a fire hazard and is unacceptable. This should be recalled. GE knew this was a design flaw, so they came out with a newer wire with a thicker gauge. I will never buy a GE appliance again. I am going to report GE to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission as well.

    Horrible Set

    Horrible, I ordered the set of the washer and dryer and it has been a nightmare. I first made the order and the washer was ok and the dryer came in bad. I scheduled a return exchange and the second time the washer was bad and the dryer was ok. Third time I kept the dryer and exchanged the washer, things worked well for about 2 weeks (as soon as the return policy ended). After the 2 weeks the dryer does not heat up the same, it takes 3 cycles to dry a set of clothes. This is the worst experience a customer could have. I’ve been a long time best buy customer but I’m never buying anything from best buy again. DO NOT make the same mistake I did, don’t buy this set.

We recommend checking the vent hose on the back of the dryer and the vent cap on the outside of your home for any type of restriction or obstruction that would affect the drying performance as you described. Also, if you have not already done so, we encourage you to disconnect power to your dryer for 2-3 minutes to reset the electronics.     This dryer was very disappointing. It takes longer than expected to dry and the heating element is bad. It broke down on me twice. I had to pay a deductible to have the repair work down. 94 days later, the heating element went out again and since the work is only warrantied for 90 days, theyre making me pay the $125 deductible again and BB wont do the right thing and cover it. Terrible service on a bad product.

    I bought this dryer in Jan 2023 and it has stopped working 3 times already. The first time was in Nov 2023 the heating element was not working, second time Dec 2023 the heating element was not working and it would not heat up. Now its May2024 and again the heating element is not heating up again. I want to get a replacement and Best Buy is refusing to do it since is out of the manufacture warranty but it started to have problems within the 1 year warranty. I need Best Buy and GE to get me a solution ASAP.

    Never Again

    Called November 22nd stating the dryer is broke and will not spin. I was then told that we would get a new one delivered on Thursday, November 30th. I told them I want it sooner if possible and the lady explained she will escalate the matter to try to get a sooner date. I called Monday, November 27th to see if they could deliver it sooner than the 30th and the lady informed me I was not setup to receive a new dryer and that I was not eligible to exchange it and they could only fix it. Being that it is a new dryer, I was not happy about that and said I wanted a new one. She told me that is not an option and they can only fix it. I scheduled to have it repaired but then decided on Tuesday, November 28th to go in the store and talk to someone directly because that just isn’t right. They said they can definitely have it a new one delivered and said that someone would contact me to setup a date/time to deliver it within a half hour. The next day, no one called me still so once again, I had to call the store to setup a delivery. By this point, it was now my 4th contact I had to make just to get a working dryer from your company. The gentleman set up a delivery of Tuesday, December 12th. The delivery was set between 7am-11am. No one showed up or even called. I had to take off of work to make sure someone was there which is EVEN MORE money I had to lose out on because I have no PTO since I had to use it all for my maternity leave. So, I called my mom to come to the house and wait in the event someone showed up so I could go to work for at least a few hours since I can’t afford to lose out on a full days paycheck. I had to call Best Buy ONCE again, for the fifth time, to see what is going on with the status of our dryer since we still have not heard anything. The lady could not get ahold of the delivery team and said she would call me back. However, she never called me back. So I called, once again, now being 6 times I had to contact your company on this matter. Come to find out, no one can get ahold of the delivery team. Finally, the delivery team himself contacts me around 1pm stating we were never even on his schedule to begin with. He apologized to me and asked when we even got scheduled for this. I told him two weeks ago this was scheduled and I am confused how we weren’t on his delivery schedule for today considering the app and phone calls I made stated today was our delivery date. Needless to say, I will never purchase from Best Buy again. Which, I am sure you don’t care because you have a lot of customers but this has caused a ridiculous amount of stress. Not only are we a family of 4, but we are a family of 4 without a working dryer. Which meant we had to use a laundry mat which has costed us even more money between paying for the laundry and gas to get back and forth. Being Christmas is coming up, money is already tight as it is with the Holidays. But, not only that, my 3 month old baby is sick and I had to take her out in the cold to keep going back and forth to do our laundry. The lady I spoke with offered to send me a $200 check which doesn’t even cover the lost wages and money I have spent using a laundry mat/gas to get there combined. Let alone the hours I have spent on the phone just trying to get a new working dryer. Thanks for a ridiculous amount of stress during a already stressful month with the Holidays, along with, costing us a lot of money. I appreciate the $200 check but again, that doesn’t even compare to what I have lost between money and time on this matter.

    This item gave me problems twice in a month. The return process was an absolute disaster; and I have been waiting for nearly 3-4 weeks for my full refund. After going back and forth and best buy reps telling me they will call me back and they don’t, I had to dispute the amount through my best buy card. An absolute joke of a process all around and poor customer service.

    Garbage - Possible Fire Hazard

    Absolute garbage. Paid $700 for this dryer and dropped it on a 12 month interest-free BestBuy card. 13 months to the day of purchase the heat stopped working. Paid $150 appliance repair for a melted wire attached to the heating element. 3 days later it melted again. Warranty was up by 10 days and GE refused to stand by their product.

    Worst Dryer

    Worst dryer. It takes forever to dry. To dry My bed sheets and pillow cases it takes over 4 hours!! It has a flimsy door, and I’m already having to have it serviced less than 2 years old.

If you have not already done so, we encourage you to check the vent pipe on the back of your dryer for any blockage or obstruction. Also check the vent cap on the outside of your home as a blockage in either location can cause long dry times like you've described.     I have gone through all of settings and read through the manual, but cannot get the dryer to complete drying cycles where the clothes are actually dry. The sensors don’t seem to read the moisture correctly and the dryer turns off before the clothes are dry even with the setting on “Max Dry”. I was going to return the dryer, but only had a two week window, so I’m now going to have to deal with the warranty and manufacturer. NOT HAPPY!

    The dryer looks nice. I was pleased to have a matching set. Apparently looks is all it has. It failed to do its main job was to dry. No matter what setting, no matter max dryness, no matter how many hours of running time, clothes end up damp. After owning a couple days, I'm returning it.

    Not only are you purchasing the appliance but they include absolutely nothing for parts for installing it into your home. They make you purchase even the power cord for this product. So be ready to spend an extra $400 just to use your dryer. NEVER AGAIN FROM BEST BUY

    About 2 months old and already broke down

    I was excited about the purchase, but after 2 months, the motor would not start. The controls were lit and the app would tell me it washed a load, but it wouldn’t do anything. Called service and they had to replaced the lid lock and had to order a new motor and multiple parts to assemble the motor. It takes 2 weeks for the parts to arrive so I’m having to wash at a laundromat. Crazy thing is that my previous washer and dryer lasted me 14 years without a hiccup until the end of their days.

    Do not buy this. Especially don't buy this if you own anything >5 years old GE. The first dryer I've ever owned that actually doesn't dry clothes. Normal setting defaults to the midpoint between "Damp" and "Very Dry" settings. When you manually select Very Dry, Eco mode turns on. Guess what? Eco mode = no heat. That's right folks, you get cold and soaked clothes after an hour. You can't make this up. Even turning off Eco mode, the clothes are still damp coming out of the dryer. The lint screen is less than half the size of my 5 year old GE dryer in another house and this new unit weights less than half of the older one. Quality has gone the way of the shareholders. We will be returning these.

      This unit has a Max Dry option; however, ecoDry should not come on automatically. You can disable ecoDry by pressing the pad. Furthermore, ecoDry uses a lower heat setting to reduce the total energy consumption of the selected sensor cycle. If your clothes are not drying properly, please view a helpful troubleshooting article on our GE Appliances website titled "DRYER - TAKING TOO LONG TO DRY CLOTHES." If you continue having issues with your unit, we recommend utilizing the warranty by scheduling service. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737) or scheduling online. We hope this helps! GE_Appliances
