Designed For Small Spaces
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This microwave replaced a 1988 GE Space-Maker II that had been a loyal and faithful kitchen companion, I have a very small kitchen and I like the fact the old unit could be mounted under the cabinet. I was afraid I could have find a unit that would do that anymore. The GE Profile PEM31SFSS does! Very happy with the look. I had to order the hanging hardware. When the hardware arrived, I spent a number of hours trying to install the unit. It took a while, but I was happy with the result. The microwave does everything I want it to do. What more can you ask? The only thing I did not like was the price. I'm not sure why it cost so much. As far as I can tell, it does not have any features that are special, other than the size.

One of the few cabinet-mount microwaves
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.$500 is a lot for a microwave, but it's hard to find one that will mount under a cabinet. And it seems like no one manufactures a microwave with a door that opens from left to right. This one replaced another GE that decided to run every time you opened the door. This one was supposed to use the same mounting holes, but of course they didn't so I had to drill new holes. There is no manual or mounting template included, but you can download those off the internet. Good luck printing out the template! The buttons are very dark and it's hard to read the text and numbers. Even though this one is only 700 watts it cooks just as fast as the 1200-watt unit it replaced. It's an okay microwave, but way too expensive.

GE Microwave
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The microwave oven works great and it is quiet while cooking. That said, it was kind of expensive. We bought it because the size/dimensions worked for us. We also bought the under cabinet mounting kit and we paid a technician to install the microwave under our cabinet.

Small, GE built-in microwave
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good: very quiet operation, okay for re-heating food, nice looking. Bad: expensive for what you get, under powered (cannot even cook popcorn)

Very disappointed!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not be more unhappy with this microwave. It replaces another GE Profile microwave that I've had for over 10 years and have been very happy with. The labels on the control panel are impossible to see, both because of the font size and the lack of back-lighting. Only the time is illuminated, and that light is very BRIGHT. The panel is poorly organized, and the buttons require very forceful pressure to register (not just a finger push like most microwaves, but an arm push). What were these designers thinking? They'd obviously not considered the consumer. And with 800 watts power, cooking/warming time seems much longer. According to BestBuy, GE microwaves are now manufactured by Haier Microwaves under the GE label. I bought my old microwave in 2011 and the price of this new one is 116% higher than the old, even though inflation has gone up only 30% in the last 10 years. So, for a far inferior product, this one sells at a steep increase. The only reason I bought it is that it's housed on a shelf above the counter that requires these dimensions. GE, you can do better than this!

Posted .Hi there, thanks for the review. So sorry to hear about your disappointment with your new microwave, especially since you've had our appliances in your home in the past. You should not need to press each button on the control panel with a lot of force to make a selection. If you're finding that you need to press very hard to make a selection, we'd recommend taking advantage of your warranty as seen on page 27 of your Use and Care manual, here: https://content.syndigo.com/asset/70a7eefd-ff30-4aa8-91f1-d6d6627ebddd/original.pdf - We do hope this is helpful for you. All the best. -Michael@GEA

Works good, and fits allotted space.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced exact same model from 2018. Not a very long life for a kitchen appliance, but it had to fit a specific space. Also overpriced for a mid-level microwave, but it fits, and it works, so I guess I'm happy with it.

Works for the size if you need it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed this microwave for the very specific size we had, to replace a previous Spacemaker II microwave. For that purpose, it works. It's a fairly small microwave inside, and I'm not a big fan of the huge GE logo on the front. But it works. However, it is very expensive for what it is (it should be a $200 microwave), so only recommend it if you have specific space constraints.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use but pretty spendy. There are lots of other options. We only got this so we could it it into our home with the space.

Exactly what I needed.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The size of this microwave is exactly what I was looking for. Price is a little high but you are getting a quality product! The beeping noise when the food is completed is not as loud and annoying as most microwaves and I really like that. Has all the features you would need...defrost, popcorn, etc.

Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's good, and it's not too deep which is what I needed. But it's really wide as a result. And it's pretty expensive.

Unique size
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This GE is basically the only microwave with short and shallow dimensions for special or existing cabinet requirements, and has been for many years. Therefore it is overpriced relative to its other capabilities. But it works fine and has the features we need, so we buy one every 5 or so years.

Expensive, but fits space and looks nice
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had an old spacesaver microwave that was built in to our cabinets, and after 20 years it died. Unfortunately this microwave is the only one made that comes close to the dimensions of the old one. Since we didn't want to redo all of our cabinets, we were kind of forced to buy this one. The first one received starting making a very loud clicking noise after about a week. We exchanged it for another one, and luckily have had the new one installed for a little over a month and so far is working good. I like the look of the microwave, and it seems to be working fine, but very expensive for what it is. The door is made of plastic and seems a bit flimsy, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that this microwave will last a while.

Run! Run far away!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is easily the worst purchase that we have ever made! We purchased this microwave to fill in a space to appear customized as a built in. It is the most useless piece of equipment on the planet. It cannot even pop mini bags of popcorn. You have to heat room temperature food up for a minimum of 3 minutes. Also, to make things worse, it is more expensive than more powerful and useful microwaves on the market. GE is exploiting the customer with this one. It is also devastating that these companies make it so hard for consumers to return these useless products. Run! Run far away!

Mediocre oven for the $$$
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terribly overpriced microwave. Build quality is mediocre. Max power is only 800 watts. However, this is the only oven that fits an existing niche in the kitchen.

The was the only microwave that fit.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was replacing an under-the-cabinet GE microwave and this is the only model that fit the space. It is a little pricey but not much choice as it is the only replacement that fit the space. Had to purchase new hanging hardware as the old ones did not perfectly fit the new model.
