Not Very Good....
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to like this printer, but I don't. There is so much wrong here you wonder why HP would make it. From the frustration of installing ink, to the crazy way you have to install the print heads, to the paper tray that holds so little paper you are left scratching your head wondering who designed this thing. Upon installation you have to install the ink by tipping the ink bottle onto the printer ink tank. It works ok. Not great. The bottle has slightly more ink than the tank can hold so when you turn the bottle back upright there can be an ink drop or three that gets around the tank. Poor design. How about a positive fill where once it disengages the bottle reseals and there is no leakage. I have owned other tank printers with bottle ink and had zero spillage. If that were not bad enough the way you install the print cartridges is pure crazy. You have to get on your knees and look into the face of the printer and press a button and disenagage an orange shipping device that protects the head. Be warned when you pull that orange shipping protection device off the print head housing it has some ink in it from your just installed ink. It dripped all over my new jeans. Oh well. Perhaps HP should reverse the installation process of the print heads and the ink. Do the print head first and ink second. Just a poorly engineered way to install the print head. Once that orange shipping protection device is removed it is a bit of playing back and forth to get the print head installed into the track. Might be easier for tiny hands, but not for mine. Seems HP would be better off having a hinged top that exposed the print head area versus having to go on your knees to install print head. On the plus side the setup to my wifi went smooth and I connected the printer through the HP Smart App which worked very well. Now if the aforementioned were not bad enough. The paper tray is by far the absolute worst paper tray ever on any printer. First, the tray barely holds any paper. Why? Holds far less paper than any printer I have ever owned. Don't try and print your taxes on this printer. You may have to refill the paper tray two or three tines before your project is complete. A real head scratcher as to why HP chose to have such a small volume paper tray. Makes ni sense at all. Beyond that the paper needs to sit just right to print or you will get error codes. You may have to play with the paper a bit to get it just right for the take up reel to accept the paper. I do think the ink will last quite a bit of time, but the negatives are far too many for me to recommend this printer. Good ink longevity and good wifi connectivity are not enough to overcome the many weaknesses of this printer.

Posted .Hi there.
Thanks for your thorough and detailed review. While it’s good to know you like the longevity of the ink delivery system and the Wi-Fi connectivity, I’m sorry to learn that your setup process was difficult and that you’re not satisfied with the device’s paper capacity. With that in mind, I’ve passed along your suggestions about the setup timeline as well as the paper tray to the people overseeing this product line. Next, I want to help you have a better experience going forward, so I’ll suggest some resources that I hope will make that happen.

Not for older systems
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is tough. Part of the problem may be on me, running an older system and not reading carefully, but the experience was not good. I trust HP, having one of their monitors and a computer, HP-110. 8-9 years old, survived a lighting surge(except the ethernet port) but it ran Windows 8. The printer box appeared to support this, but it did not. Finally updated, worked over the course of 2 days to get it to print, and finally found a configuration that worked. Quality is fine, but the printer and now my computer are slower than they use to be(old printer was an Epson). Customer support basically unhelpful FAQ's. Again, my old system and ways did not work smoothly with this printer. If you're running Windows 10 or 11, you shouldn't have my experience, but the days of PNP and OOBE seem to have passed.

Buy a different model
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer because the refillable ink was quite easy. That would be a good idea, i was told it had dual Wi-Fi, but it does not. so it prints slow. I have 5G, but this printer does not print fast have problems with Wi-Fi when it was hooked up printed slow . the worst problem I had was jammed up three times . The paper and there’s no way to get it out easily. You can’t pull up from the front you have to flip the printer, unplug it turn it upside down and try to pull a full sheet of paper out of the bottom of it . extremely difficult never had a printer. It was so difficult to remove a jam. I am returning it to buy a different model. Do your research, I didn’t do enough!

Somewhat aggravated
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was extremely difficult and time consuming to get my HP lap top and my Apple iPad to both communicate with the printer. I also haven’t yet determined the root cause of why it sometimes splatters ink all over some of my printouts. I’m hoping it has stopped, but time will tell.

Slow printing, flat colors
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited to long so I can not take it back for a refund. I wish I could have tested it in the store to see the quality and time it takes to print. So here is my review: It prints extremally slow and the quality of the print is very flat and muted. It does not hold that much paper at a time and it takes up a huge amount of desk space and the color of the unit feels outdated. For the price of this printer I am overall very unhappy with it.

DID NOT LIKE WAITING 2 HOURS FOR A PRINTOUT
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I WIRED THE PRINTER TO MY HP LAPTOP. EVERY TIME I WANTED TO PRINT IT WAS A DISASTER. I SENT 3/4 OF A SHEET TO PRINT AND IT FINALLY PRINTED IT 2 HOURS LATER. I GAVE IT TO MY KIDS AND BOUGHT A EPSON. I NOW GET A PRINTOUT IN A SHORT TIME AS SOON AS THE PRINTER INISALISE.

Promises
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Promises are a good thing except when you don’t keep them ,says 2 years of ink but when you get the printer you have no way to sign up for it. Just another ripoff

I DON'T RECOMMEND
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer itself is only okay. It takes a lot longer to print items than expected and there's an error message about the ink cartridge's more often than expected.

Not so smart
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even thoughthe name has 'Smart' in it - it is lacking that for sure. Constantly jumps off the networks, takes forever to print, etc

Problem Printer(S)
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having problems with the color printing. The paper feed does does not feed right especially when using photo paper. Also instead of printing one page, 2 papers come out with just regular computer paper. This is the second print I brought from you that is not up to par.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially I was very pleased but as soon as the Geek Squad tech left I could not get this printer to work. Very very frustrated and disappointed. I had to go out and buy another less expensive printer that I am now using so I can continue to do my work. the new laptop I purchased from Best Buy requires a wireless printer, which is what I purchased. At this point I cannot use the printer and I still cannot print from new laptop. I am back to using old technology and spent money on something I cannot use.

Ok Printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up and prints, but is more manual then I’m use to. It’ll double side but you have to flip and reload the pages, so not good for documents. No automatic feeder to copy several pages. Even the paper catch has to be manually pulled out. It’s connected to Wi-Fi but why? If in another area I need to go check if paper is in, pull out the paper catch, and make sure sitting next to to flip for double sided documents. Thinking of replacing-or trying the older printer, it did everything automatically but a few years old. This printer is good if you print occasionally.

Didn't do what I expected.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It showed capable of two-sided printing on the display. When I got home, I discovered that it required printing on one side then reloading the paper to print the other side. I wanted something like my older (and much cheaper) printer did which did that automatically. So I returned it and got a cheaper printer.

Not great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I told the employees that I was looking for a user-friendly printer because I'm not really high-tech. They suggested this one would be great. It's not. It takes 20 minutes to get the printer to properly connect every time I use it. Most of the time I end up using the app from my phone because it's easier, but not easy.

Review
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very difficult to set up. Directions says go to the website. The directions and website directions are not the same. I have had it for 3 weeks still not connected to wifi. Had to hire Geek Squad to connect it.

Manual double sided printing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cannot automatically print double sided. Followed directions and put paper in again to print the remaining sheets, and it printed one blank page first which threw all the page numbers off. Huge hassle to print a simple document.
