We had to replace a faithful 11 year old Miele and found this Insignia model to be perfect. Its design and cycles are nearly identical. Controls at the top of the door, except the display is clearer to see and easier to wipe clean. A third shelf for cutlery except it is more adjustable. Whisper quiet operation just like the Miele. Stainless steel inside and out, except the Insignia's exterior is a thinner gauge and thus more susceptible to denting. Dry dishes achievable with extra heat setting. Sanitizer cycle achievable with extra setting. Removable bottom rack cutlery basket for large loads too big for the top rack. Geek Squad installation was flawless and well worth the extra money. Total installed cost was one third of the Miele dishwasher 11 years ago. Let's see how pong the Insigna lasts us.

I really wanted the 3rd rack in a dishwasher, but didn't want to upgrade the cost. Consumer Reports gave this a good review, so I thought it would be worthwhile. I had Best Buy install and take my old dishwasher. They took care of everything. The dishwasher is very quiet, I can't always tell it is on, and I don't hear it at all in the next room. I don't like that I need to hold the Power button for 3 seconds before starting, then press the start button. I don't use the dry cycle at all...I put plastic in the bottom rack. If you leave the dishwasher shut and use the drying agent, I have been very happy with no spots and minimum puddles of water anywhere. I would say no puddles, but some of the deeper indents in glasses, etc do have a little water. The multiple beeps at the end of the cycle is annoying, but not really bothersome. I use the express cycle unless something is really heavy duty dirty. I have only had it a few months, and the loading of the dishes is different than any other dishwasher I have had. I use only the main part of the silverware holder (the 2 sides come off) and the stem holder for glasses can take up room, but I am getting the hang of loading. I really recommend this dishwasher...even though my mother swears by her premium brand 3 rack dishwasher. I am really happy with the Insignia brand in general.

First of all I wish they would have included the 90° elbow you need to install. You go to your local hardware and you have to buy a complete hose kit to get the elbow included. Installation was not hard. I like how it secures to the cabinet from the removable plugs to screw into the side of the cabinets. I wish they would included the right size screws for cabinet side securement. Test run all dishes were clean like everybody else is complete it does not completely dry the dishes. But for the money you spend on this unit considering it has a third rack for a fraction of the cost of other units. I am excited to see how long this machine functions properly. Either way I paid for the 5-year warranty. It is the quietest dishwasher I've ever heard.

I chose this one because of the price and that the inside was entirely stainless steel. I didn’t even realize that it had the third rack at first which has been a Godsend because we have reusable chopsticks which won’t stay in the silverware basket. It’s quiet and gets my dishes nice and clean. Dries them off well too. Very happy.

Bought this for a friend whose condo I stay in when working from out of state. Hers never worked right since the day she purchased this place and I decided she needed a new one finally! After doing much research this was the one. It’s sleek, quiet and does a great job cleaning all dishes.

My husband and I flip houses, so we buy a lot of appliances. This will be the third time I’ve bought this exact dishwasher to put in a flip house. That’s how much I’ve enjoyed this one! The stainless steel tub interior is what I believe makes all the difference in the drying of the dishes. Don’t forget to add Jet Dry every so often, and you won’t be disappointed.

    Design flaw, quality control issue.

We purchased this dishwasher in early July 2024. The lower right corner foot gasket was pushed inward when closing the door. After taking detail looks, we found the dishwasher was not manufactured symmetrically. So the door is ok on the left side, but the door pushes the right side gasket inward. Also, the lower rack will hit the right side rubber gasket when pull out the rack. This definitely is a design flaw or quality control issue. We have installed it before finding this design flaw. It is a hassle to uninstall it and return. We decided to take out the right corner foot gasket. Fortunately it does not leak so far. The dishwasher does cleaning and drying very well. Will see how long it lasts. By the way, the model we received is Revision C, manufactured back in 2023, more than a year before we purchased it.

Bought this and installed it myself. The configuration was a little odd with the water supply line being on the front of the unit. You might need a water supply line hose that is longer than one from a kit. The only odd thing about this appliance was that you have to power it on while the door is open. I thought I installed the power cord wrong because I couldn’t get it to turn on when I was trying to test it before putting it in its place. As far as functionality it’s quiet compared to 2005 unit that was still in the house. The configuration of the slots on the bottom is a little odd. But for the price and being stainless steel I can’t complain. YouTube videos were super helpful. I would suggest if you have a power cord getting one that has sold connectors. (Solid vs Stranded)

Pros: One of the best value 3rd rack with stainless steel dishwashers. Cons: Like others said, dishes not dry enough. When dishes are done dripping, it collects about a quarter cup of water in the filter basket that starts to smell bad overnight. There isn't a button on the dishwasher to force the undrained water out with a press of a button.

Thank you for your concern but there is no need to worry, a dishwasher operates the same as a sink with a trap. It is designed to capture a small amount of water in the bottom of the filter to not allow direct airflow into the drain. If you are detecting an odor and believe it is from the water within the trap, please make sure there is no food caught within the trap. Water alone should not create an odor to permeate throughout the dishwasher. For best drying results we recommend a drying agent should be used with every cycle. There are other factors that inhibit drying during the last phase of the dishwashing cycle. A very full dishwasher, plastic plates and glasses which do not dry as well as other materials, the shape of the dish or glassware which creates pooling of water. These factors can contribute to water still being present at the end of a cycle. BBY-ExBrand_Insignia

Great dishwasher works really well. Cleans the dishes very well - compared to my old dishwasher this thing is the bomb! It was a learning curve for me to actually turn it on and make it go - to be fair - I didn’t read the book.

We bought this washer 6 months ago and have been putting it through it's paces ever since. Installation was standard and straight forward with the included instruction. The user guide does display the "best" loading practices. However, we have not had a problem just piling in as much as we can into each load, provided that you do allow spaces in between the dishes for the water jets to get through. Most, if not all, dishes do not require any sort of prewash and will still come out sparkling. There are multiple cycles to choose from, but most of the time we just run on automatic and the washer is able to detect which cycle is best based of how dirty the dishes are.

We purchased this dishwasher in replacement if a Bosch that had condensation drying instead of heated dry. The Insignia had this functionality and so far since a month ago it's working good and drying as expected. The look is great and it is quiet. The existing opening was a little bit smaller as previous owner installed tile in the kitchen and this reduced the size and now the controls are visible as I'm unable to push the dishwasher further. Anyway it looks great!
