    Great vaccum

We were testing out different robot vaccums and this is the one we've settled on. It works great, can run for 2 hours straight, and leaves the floors feeling great. Feet are always clean on the off chance I'm walking around without any socks on if that's something you're worried about. It is a bit loud (by no means overly so) but I mean it's a vaccum. Bonus, the "thunk" sound that can be heard when it starts emptying it's bin give me a giggle every time. As for the mopping, it is helpful when I need to use it which has up to this point only been twice because I don't want to block off my rug all the time but I believe there's virtual walls (or whatever they're called) that you can get to make it easier. The mapping is good and covers my whole place each time. It won't vaccum around it's base though, I believe because of safety reasons, so you'll still have to sweep that area.

This is a great vacuum for regular cleaning and mopping. It works efficiently, runs relatively quietly, and has an included dust storage bin for self-emptying when done. I don’t have much negative to say about this vacuum as it checks most blocks for what the average home might require. Pros: -Stylish -Smart -Mopping ability -Self emptying -Rubber rollers (prevents hair build-up) -Easy to clean -Great app Cons: -Mopping requires the removal of rugs first -No LIDAR or camera Setup: Assembly is overall simple. Attach the base unit to the wall, dock the robot, remove any plastic, and pair it with the app. Of note, my unit only paired via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi even though it detected 5 GHz, so it took a few tries to figure that out. Once I used 2.4 GHz it worked just fine. There is a spare bag in the dust bun included as well. Use: For the first use, I sent the robot out mapping. In doing this, it got stuck behind a door and I had to let it out, it took a few hours to notice this, and it was still bumping into walls trying to get out, so I was surprised it had plenty of battery left. The issue was the robot closed the door on itself, so I don’t fault the mapping software. After mapping, I let it charge and tried a cleaning run. It ran through the rooms effectively and was not too loud overall. What is loud is when the robot empties itself in the dust bin, this is very loud so I would not use that at night. The vacuum cleans very well on most floors, and I experienced no issues here. It does not include a camera or LIDAR so it will map things out by bumping into them but it gets more efficient with time. One aspect I wish was better is the mopping feature. It works well to clean but when used, it will mop everything! So be sure to remove rugs from the floor and tell it only to clean rooms that need mopping, do not push “vacuum everywhere” if you have mixed floors in your house when mopping. There are higher-end models that can identify the floor type and stop mopping but this model cannot differentiate. Software: The app works very well, and I experienced no bugs. You can easily control the robot's functions and tell it which room to clean, what schedule to utilize, and view history and errors. I found the product health page useful as you can see how many hours are left on the filter, brushes, and rollers before needing cleaning or replacement. You can also enable child/pet locks on the app to keep kids from playing with the device. My device took a few cleanings before it let me label the rooms that were mapped out.

iRobot Roomba Combo i5+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum & Mop - Woven Neutral Summary: Performant, powerful, multi-purpose compact robot vacuum. Pros: * Performant. I have another Roomba and I love it. But this one easily outperforms it in a direct comparison. * Powerful. This unit feels substantial, and you can feel the power behind the motors/wheels and the performance is clearly visible. * Vacuum and Mop. Multi-functional robot offers you the flexibility to clean different flooring types. * Self-emptying. The self-emptying base form factor is different than the jX models. It features a lower wider profile and offers a small chamber to store spare consumables. * App. The app, once paired, is perfect for controlling the unit. Though, I have the Alexa skill configured and use it to initiate manual cleanings. Otherwise, the app schedule runs 5 days a week. The mapping capabilities are amazing, and the feedback feature allows me to help the robots learn about obstructions, new obstructions, temporary ones, etc. The robot and consumable status are also very helpful. * Looks. The woven top panel, the materials of the base station, and overall design are pretty sexy for a robot vacuum. Definitely a differentiator as an appliance. Cons: * Mop. The mop bin unfortunately, is pretty small. I feel like it isn't practical enough for me to have on the main floor. I will likely leave it on the floor of my home featuring the carpeted surface. * App. I did have trouble pairing the Roomba at first. I'm not sure why, but the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi config just wouldn't work properly the first time. Second time it worked just fine. Use: As I mentioned, I have another Roomba. Though it worked well, it wasn't great at picking up my Corgi's hair. In fact, it would weave yarn with his hair and leave them on the floor everywhere. This unit doesn't do that - it appears to clean the carpeted floors really well and vacuums it all up. I don't even have to enable the "continue cleaning regardless of sensor status." Previously, I had to enable the option because five minutes of run time and the vacuum would think it's bin was full. But it wasn't close. The other vacuum still works well, but it has now been reassigned to another floor. I won't be using the mop bin, because it simply cannot clean the entire main space hardwood floors without several refills. The main floor is open concept and that is why it is so large. I know the price point for Roombas can seem a bit higher than competing solutions. But I have nothing but praise for Roomba's latest offerings. If you're on the fence and need a multi-function unit to clean an average sized room, then this unit is for you.

Good robot vacuum with a good app

This is our second robot vacuum, first from Roomba. You will need to download the mobile app and create an account. I was wondering how it self-empties. In the charging device, there is an area where a disposable bag is attached to a long hose. The other side of the hose connects to the vacuum while it’s docked and charging. The vacuum blows it out of its compartment, through the hose, and into the disposable bag. This process can get loud. At first, I was thinking, more accessories to buy and replace. The bags themselves are inexpensive. You can buy them from Best Buy or Amazon. This feature is very convenient. Our previous robot vacuum had a small storage where I had to keep emptying it every run. This one should hold at least 2-3 runs maybe even more (for our house, which may differ from yours). It also comes with another disposable bag – so you start with two. The app is intuitive to setup. It failed to connect initially. It tried three times then provided a different option to connect and it finally worked. You can schedule the vacuums. You can even have the vacuum map the area. There is a history of recent jobs. Or you can just have it vacuum everywhere. The vacuum is smart enough to return to its base to recharge when the battery runs low. We do not have much carpet. We have porcelain tiles and vinyl. The mop part comes with two filters and cloth. The bins are interchangeable. So, you will have to swap bins if you want to vacuum or mop. This is a huge improvement from our previous robot vacuum. The app is easy to use and has many options.

    Nice Automatic Vacuum

I have never had one of this type of Vacuum but I can already see the advantages of owning one. I never thought I would need or even like this type of Vacuum but it has sold me wishing I have had one for a much longer time. Out of the box you have to setup its base and get it charging. In approximately 2 hours. While that is going on you need to download the app so when the charging is complete you can teach it where to vacuum in your house. I had some issues with the app too as you have to get a conformation email before you can go any further in the app. I tried multiple time and just gave up until the next day (this was on a weekend) On Monday I tried again and was successful but later that same day I received a whole bunch of emails in answer to my attempts on Sunday. Once I got the app working correctly I set it up to learn my small apt so it can vacuum when I need it too. It is a little noisy when it is running so not something I will use while I am sleeping. Now I did notice that I have to have my phone on my Wi-Fi system, or it would not talk to the Vacuum. It took about 30 minutes to complete its mapping but that will depend on the size and obstacles in its way. You can give it a time and day ot days to run and it will complete its mapped area. I you move furniture or obstructions that were in its way just remap your room.

I am supper happy with my i5+! I was initially going to go for the top of the line J9+, but decided to try out a lower end model first. I have named him Claymore. He does a good job cleaning my house while I'm at work. It took a few runs to map out my place (which can be viewed on the app), and he got stuck a couple of times (once on my bar stools, another time on a power cord), but once I made a couple adjustments he didn't get stuck again. The auto empty feature was a must have and I can already see that a ton of junk got sucked up. Something to note with these lower end models without a camera is you can't set up "no go zones" without an expensive IR blaster thing (which I did not purchase), for example the area around a dog's water bowl or an entire room without closing the door. I also have not tried the mopping function but I've heard from others that it's not great due to the low fluid capacity. I have a single floor 1500sqft house and it takes about 4 hours for him to vacuum the whole place because he has to stop halfway through to recharge. But he will do that on his own and pick up where he left off after the fact. I'd say this model is good if you don't want to blow $1200 and only need vacuuming ability; otherwise I'd probably spring for a higher end Roomba. But overall I'm happy with the machine!

Best Roomba Iv'e had so far, I have the Roomba 694 since 2019. It did the work, kind of loud, but the iRobot Roomba i5 is just great, less noisy, Does mapping: (Wish I could do the mapping with the phone, not the Roomba running around). Way smarter, It knows when you add the mop, (when you follow the instructions). In the end does the job, You can send I to just the living room and to the base or kitchen and then the base. It's up to you. If you want the Roomba to not mop the carpet, then look for higher end Roombas. Great for the pice

After reading a lot about robot vacuum cleaners, I decided on this model. The first time I tried using it, it was horrible. But it wasn't the equipment's fault. I'm using this equipment in my fitness studio and it's a large space, I saw that the i5 was lost in space. I resolved this by redividing the space through the iRobot app. Once that was done, wow, the i5 cleaned everything up perfectly. I am very satisfied. Now I plan to buy one for my home.

Mapped the house well. Can tell it to clean certain areas. It's nice not having to empty it every time. It's a little loud when it's getting cleaned out at the station but it only lasts a few seconds.

The mop option is completely useless and would recommend just buying the vacuum. Keep moping with the good ole mop and bucket. Mapping function is great!! You are able to pick and choose what rooms you would like cleaned. Product would be 5 stars if it werent for the useless mop attachment.

This was an upgrade from an older 960 model. It is so much quieter and gets und the table + chairs so much better. The self emptying is a major plus. Also the ability to map the house to pick and choose rooms rocks. Have not used the mopping feature. I would recommend to anyone looking for a roomba to get this model.
