I bought this for my covered/screened patio fie which i also bought a Roku TV. Also my wife likes to sit outside amd listen to jazz so it does the job. Yoi get exacly what you pay for. Its about what i expected for $300. As an audiophile i didnt expect a whole lot - nor did i want tp spend alot for the patio. Anyways, so far its worth the investment. I gave it 4 stars because it’s a great value as far as soumdbars go.

There is too many issues with this sound bar that makes me not recommend it. It was highly recommended to me by store associates and when I looked at the reviews online they all looked really good. My issue is that even when I power the sound bar off if I change any settings with my TV such as going from cable to Blu-ray or Netflix it constantly powers the sound bar back on even though it was fully powered off. When I first turned on the TV in the morning the sound bar will turn on, and I power it off two seconds later it powers back on then again power it off and once more it will power back on by itself where I have to manually power it back off. This is really starting to get annoying because if I power something off it should stay off until I manually power it back on. On top of that at times it’s not any louder than my regular TV volume. I don’t like it especially for that price. If it wasn’t for Sonos having the issues they had with their app I would actually have that brand instead.

Great Bluetooth speaker that replaced my old Bose solo 5 and it’s night and day difference. Audio is clear and the bass is excellent. Try to get open box if you can for extra savings

Excellent quality, sound, and plenty of power. Yes for a whole lot more $$$ you can definitely get better sound but I doubt you can get better unless you double the price of this item. JBL is providing great value with this one.

I've had the JBL - Bar 300 soundbar for about a month and really like it. It's the first soundbar we've ever had (we're older and old school!). It is much better sound than the TV speaker--richer and fuller. I don't need to turn the sound up as much. My husband, who thought the soundbar was unnecessary, commented that movies sound much better. It was easy to install and get working--I'm decent with technology but certainly not the most experienced person, and I had no troubles. The soundbar works with the TV remote, which is great! I was able to get this as an open-box excellent condition, so I paid significantly less than the regular price. I had been looking at it for several months after doing some research on mid-priced soundbars. I was waiting for a sale and then the open-box became an option.

Fantastic soundbar with significant bass without a subwoofer. This soundbar has more power than I expected. The Dolby Atmos is a plus. Awesome speaker with separate surround speakers. Super-easy install with accompanying app.

Thia soundbar is a great bang for your buck. Seamless connection to my tv with the hdmu ARC input and app is easy to use ti be able to adjust levels. Out the box, i wish it did come with tv mounting hardware but it comes with wall mounting hardware. Bass at stock EQ is more than enough to fill a good sized living room. I live in a townhome so it’s relatively close and i had to turn the bass down 5 notches and its still at times crazy loud when the bar haa the volume up a bit. Has to mess with treble and mid range to get the sound right to be able to hear dialogue but once i did its really hard to complain. Definitely worth the money.

Started out with a sonos beam 2 didnt like that I couldn’t connect my phone to it via Bluetooth since sonos does not support bluetooth and also not having a remote. Anyway i ended up exchanging the sonos for this JBL 300 and my gosh it is in my opinion way better than the sonos is its more bass more clear more vivid in my opinion. I can clearly hear much more distinct sounds in my movies and video games compared to the Sonos as well. Yeah I recommend this soundbar only thing i dislike about it is you cant connect other speakers or sub woofers wirelessy to it.

Love this! Live in a condo now so I am not using a surround system with subwoofer anymore. I still wanted good quality sound with punch. This definitely does it!!! I am quite impressed. I was expecting to be disappointed to be honest. Especially since I am not usually a JBL fan. This product fit all specs I was looking for though so I took the chance. Does it replace a sound woofer system perfectly? No. Does it do a phenomenal job as an alternative? YES!!! And I love that you can control the bass level via the remote or app.

My last Bose speaker lasted me 4.5 years and died suddenly, was upset that it didn't last as long but whatever. It took me roughly 1.5 years to find this speaker as all the other options available wasn't what i wanted. I didnt want a sepetate speaker for just bass. If you love a bit of bass without extra speakers or just love the feel/sound it is surprisingly packing it. My old speaker never had this amount of punch to it, sound/voice clarity is spot on. The price is great for what you get

Amazing! Wanted a quality but not expensive soundbar with no sub for outside and this hits on all cylinders. Solid bass with crisp voices, almost as good as my $900 Bose soundbar. Would recommend, when my 26 year old JBLs finally give out will be getting a JBL soundbar for my theater room.

    Good Soundbar Upgrade, Complicated Purchase

I purchased this as an "Open Box-Excellent" from Best Buy, which was a pretty good deal on its face, to replace a previous JBL soundbar (moved to a different TV in our house) which I was very happy with, but decided the BAR 300 would be an upgrade for our 75" TV in our living room. Well, the BAD news was that when I received the BAR 300 in the mail, things looked great until I realized the power cord and the HDMI cable were missing and that the remote control had apparently been damaged by the original purchaser (it still worked, but they tried to open the battery compartment the wrong way and cracked the plastic case). I contacted Best Buy and they initially told me to return it, but the Bar itself was in excellent shape; I contacted JBL/Harmon after registering the BAR 300 and offered to buy replacement parts, but JBL/Harmon just replaced all three for free (even knowing it was Best Buy that had apparently screwed up). I went back to my local Best Buy and, to their credit, was refunded the difference between "Open Box-Excellent" and "Open Box-Poor", about a $40 difference. I'm still working on getting the Bar to recognize my home network, so I'm using an optical hookup for the time being (which works quite well). The sound is excellent, the Calibr button seems to have done a good job getting the soundbar to work properly for my living room configuration, and it works quite well with my XBox console. I've enjoyed JBL/Harmon's quality with my smaller soundbar for the last few years and it works quite well with my other TV (which hooked up without a hitch) and I'm impressed by the quality of the BAR 300 build. I didn't want a separate subwoofer for a few reasons and, while the BAR 300 isn't exactly great surround sound, it does a lot better than my Samsung's TV speakers and better than my old JBL soundbar.

I am blown away by the sound quality and depth of bass in a small all in one sound bar. The dolby atmos surround is awesome for movies and xbox games.

For a small soundbar with no separate subwoofer, the overall sound is good. It is used in a small guestroom that is mostly used for a gaming/media room for kids and friends. Sound is pretty clear, and bass is good for such a small speaker. Don't really notice the dolby atmos though, but still a good speaker for what it is used for without taking up much space.

I purchased the bar on sale $349 for an older gentleman that’s hard of hearing being a retired carpenter / general contractor. He struggles with dialogue mostly. This bar is an all in one without a Sub which he prefers. Before I installed it in his living room I test drove the bar in my bedroom for a few days. As it’s designed, it did a pretty decent job of adding weight to the deeper frequencies without at all being boomy. The faux surround sound makes the bar sound wider more enveloping than the Stereo mode and was the way I preferred it. However the Stereo mode was a little better for strictly dialogue intelligibility, no need for equalizer adjustments at all. The sound didn’t seem thin or bright either which was really nice. Heads up though the bar automatically sets its mode to the source that it’s being fed. So set your TV sound output to default for stereo if that’s what you prefer so it doesn’t change with the switch of channels / Apps. I personally liked it so much I decided to pick up its bigger brother (JBL Bar 500) for my bedroom at an open box discount. The 500 is better all the way around but 300 was totally fine. I’d have chose the 300 at a deep discount or open box price no problem. So far no issues with the 500 either. Recommended…

Set this up under a 58" Insignia LED Fire TV for our parents in the corner of a living room in an open layout area. Sound is excellent for movie dialogue and sound, whether you are near or 20+ feet away. Replaced an older multi-speaker setup and we are very pleased with its simplicity and ease of setup, and despite a separate remote comes on/off with the tv. Very happy with the purchase.
