The JLab Flex are a fantastic find – especially if you're like me and don’t like the feeling of in-ear buds. These are open-style earbuds, which means they don’t go inside your ears – and that’s a huge win for comfort and awareness. Comfort: Super light and you barely feel them. Since they rest outside the ear canal, there's no pressure or soreness even after hours of use. Perfect for people who hate traditional in-ear designs. Situational Awareness: This is what makes them amazing – you can still hear what’s going on around you. Great for walks, bike rides, commuting, or working in shared spaces where you want to stay alert. Sound: Even though they’re open, the sound is surprisingly clear and well-balanced. You won’t get super deep bass like in-ear models, but the mids and highs are solid, and they sound great for calls, music, and podcasts. Battery: Long-lasting with a small, stylish case. I use them throughout the day and rarely need to recharge more than once or twice a week. Mic Quality: Calls are crystal clear, and people can hear me even outside or in noisy areas.

Wow! I was skeptical at first but this ingredient won me over quick. The open ear concept was new to me. I like the flexible of being able to take calls while still being alert with my surrounds. The sound is crisp and clear and the battery lasts my entire 8 hour shift at work

I expected nothing and got so much more. Genuinely expected to use it for 2 months before they break to get my moneys worth considering theyre 50 bucks but i had to leave a review after I just found them after leaving them in my pants through a washer and a dryer and fhey still charge too. Ive dropped them a dozen times walking biking etc. and they still work just like the day I bought em. I also have been using them at least 40 hrs a week as I use them throughout work for the past 6 months so they have been used, beaten, washed, and dried and are not slowing down. I WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND but Also! I did see a review of them not fitting in the case but they were put in backwards and that was user error. The left only fits in the left and right in right.

Not perfect but they their job, sound quality it's ok, little lack of bass, battery lasts a week, at fist they don't feel comfortable however you geit used to it. The case is getting some scratches for putting in my pockets with my keys.

Hi all, this is tge best ever sound i have heard in my life.

This has got to be the most interesting design in earbuds I've ever used. My personal preference is in ear noise cancelling earbuds but I do have some open ear ones as well. Just depends on the application. My anc earbuds are meant for the gym while the open air can be when I do yard work or walk the dogs. I like to be able to hear my surroundings. For a very affordable set of earbuds, the Jlab Flex comes with a lot of features. Multi-point connection and volume control are 2 features alone that you usually don't see at this price point. Out of the box, you get the earbuds, a very short usb cable for charging and setup pamphlet. I took the earbuds out of the case and my phone found it immediately. Paired it and then downloaded the app. That's it. Ready to go. The app gives you options to change the touch controls and customize your eq. Because the way the earbuds are designed, the touch pad is actually behind your ear lobe and that took some time to get use to. I wasn't a fan. The touch control was responsive but at times was finicky, that could be because I wasn't use to reaching behind my ears. The case was very compact so easily fits in the little pocket of your jeans. Phone conversations was acceptable, but not the best. I found myself at times raising my voice. Music, was a 7/10. Now being open ears, I didn't expect it to be great and it wasn't. If you really like bass music, this set is not for you. But, if like me, you listen to a lot of podcasts while doing yardwork or walking the dog, it's perfect. But what make the JLAb Flex stand out from all my other earbuds, it is the most comfortable set ever. I really can't even feel it on my ears. Not only is it comfortable, but it stays in place. I ran with it thinking it might move around, but nope, stayed exactly where I put it and couldn't even tell it was there. That by itself was worth buying.

The JLab open wireless earbuds are what I need to listen to the radio, music, podcasts or to answer a call. They are small, but powerful. The speakers (12mm) are remarkably decent for their size. They produce pretty good sound. You in fact can make quite a few adjustments through the accompanying J Lab app. There you can play with equalizer settings to get the sound that suits you best. Call quality is pretty good and clarity back seems to be good as well. Out of the box connecting to your phone it is a bit odd. You have to link to both of the earbuds separately. I really don't understand why they set it that way. The earbuds take a bit getting used to in terms of 'clipping them to your ear' to set them right. Like anything there is a learning curve. They are quite comfortable on your ears. I do find that the touch function on the earbuds is not as responsive as others I have owned. I seemingly need to press hard for the function to understand the command. That can be a bit frustrating. I have only had them for a few days, but they have only been charged from the factory. The claim is 24hrs playtime. I am nearing that and they are still going. You get that from charging both the earbuds and the case itself. This type of earbud should be owned by everyone. It is much safer for your ears. The app is pretty good too. You can change touch commands, adjust sound quality, gwt updates and more. The earbuds and the app work well together. The earbuds are backed by a 2 year warranty. They come with a charging case and a small length usb-c cable. Overall, I recommend them.

Outside of their Epic line, I think JLab has got to be the top of budget-friendly earbud makers. The Flex is no exception. They are an unusual style, when I showed them to my coworkers they were polarizing, either they loved the look or they hated them. I don’t mind they look and I think they’re pretty comfortable but I do have a problem with the design. Since the tap buttons are on the back of my ears, if I shrug my shoulders or turn my head fully left or right, it takes it as a tap or long press and changes the volume or skips a track. You can’t really turn them where they don’t get pressed either, they need to be turned a certain way to point the sound into your ears for the best sound. My wife tried them and had the same issue. So my advice is try them in person and see how they fit you. It’s not a deal breaker but it is kind of annoying. Sound quality is good, little light on bass, definitely download the JLab app and switch the eq to the JLab Signature Sound mode or tweak your own custom mode since the default mode was a little tinny IMHO. These do stay in place well and I like the open air style earbuds over an in-ear bud in transparent mode, I feel like I’m better connected to my surroundings with the open air style. Battery life is great, 7+ hours and the case holds about two more full charges for 21+ hours of use. For the price, if you like the style, I think you’ll be happy with them.

These earbuds are perfect for different reasons, and more specifically to be aware of my surroundings while enjoying great sound. First, they arrive nicely packaged with charger, cable, instructions and earbuds. After downloading the JLab application, they were very easy to setup and customize. The clip-on design is unique, they wrap around the ear, and they provide good sound, and they stay on without needing ear clips. Also, this design is perfect while running, hiking, cycling or basically just be outdoors and I want to be aware of my surroundings. And they are not inside my ear canal, so they are comfortable for longer periods of time. The sound is good, while the bass is not the best due to the open ear design, on the other hand, they do deliver good mids and highs. They are perfect for audiobooks, podcasts and music but without the immersive sound of earbuds. The battery life can last up to 21 hours with its case and 6 hours without, and that is more than enough for me. They connect to two devices simultaneously with its multipoint technology and they have good connectivity with its Bluetooth 5.3. Other features are splashproof with IPX4, so they are ready to workout. Also, the calls are clear even while being outdoors. I also like they controls on the earbuds; they are soft touch controls that are easy to use and with the JLab App I can customize the buttons to fit my needs. The JLab Flex Open Clip True Wireless Earbuds offer long battery life, good sound and great for different occasions to be aware of my surroundings. I have the Black version and there is also a Teal color as well and both look great. They are also comfortable and easy to control right from the buds as well as the JLab application.

The ear part never stay in the case easily, always jumping from the charging case!! I struggle to put them back to be charged! Charging wire is so short. But Nice sounds and Easy to wear.

Definitely a unique take on the earbud design. These are definitely great for an active lifestyle and one where you don’t need and/or want to block out ambient noise. The accessory looks a little unusual for sure, but it delivers on audio quality and battery life. The only downside is making sure not to get the buds mixed up on which side they go in the case. The magnets will quickly tell you as you drop it in and it shoots it back out! Reminds me of Mexican Jumping Beans. I did find that I felt a little more ear fatigue than normal compared to a standard style earbud. If just using for workouts or short periods of time, it's not an issue. If you are looking for extended periods of time, may need to take that into consideration. There is a bit of pressure exerted for the buds to “clip” around your ear. The companion app is quiet good with lots of useful features. The soundscape mode is pretty neat with calming nature sounds and cityscape if that is your zen. Most of the modes are water related, but you can build your own scene by selecting multiple sound options at once and setting the volume independently on each. This feature is not limited to the Flex earbuds, but available across their line of products.

The last time I visited my local Best Buy my husband and I checked out the new "open style" earbuds. The ones we saw were more 'high end' as far as cost, so while we were interested, we wouldn't buy unless we knew they performed well and would be comfortable to wear. Which is why, when these JLab Flex Open-Clip True Wireless Earbuds were offered, I jumped at the chance to try them out (or on, lol). Testing these out would give us a better idea of what they are like. Recently, I've come to realize that regularly wearing the type of earbuds which fit into your ear canal opening, have begun to give me issues. I do clean the soft rubberized tips often with an alcohol wipe, but that doesn't seem to solve the issue I'm having. These JLab "clip-on" instead of fitting inside your ear opening relieving some of the discomfort and problems I experience wearing traditional earbuds. However, I must stress that in order to get the best audio performance from these JLab Flex earbuds, you will need to take the time to adjust your earbuds position to fit properly, or sound clarity will suffer. Long hair, glasses, and even earrings may affect getting that proper fit. Now, the JLab app isn't necessary to use these earbuds, but if you want to, the settings are pretty basic - Battery Level indicator, Equalizer, Touch Controls reference list, Music Mode/Movie Mode, Safe Hearing level slider. Under the 'My JLab' tab, there is even a choice of 9 Ambient Sounds you can listen to if you just want to relax or have some background audio playing as you go about your day. Touch controls were easy enough to remember and master. They are pretty standard as per other earbuds I've used. Call quality was just adequate. And sound quality was also what I'd expect from this type of audio device. Battery life is pretty good. While a full battery didn't last me a whole day, these Flex earbuds charge relatively quickly. The charging case is compact, which is nice if you want to bring the earbuds with you and tuck them into a purse, pocket, or backpack. The price of these JLab Flex Open Earbuds is more than fair. They are inexpensive, yet of good quality.

I can not wear ear buds. They tend to irritate my ears and cause problems not only with my ear canals but the ear drums themselves so I traditionally wear "normal" headphones for most activities but even then, they can get a little hot. I tried the ones that were individually connected to wires like the Apple included models, but they always seem to be "tugging" with the wire and will shift and move because they are so light weight. I want the lightweight, but the way they rest doesn't work for me. For working out, I have switched to the much thinner headphones that have a near wire thin neck wrap piece and these actually work well and are my go to models, but in the end I would like to have the functionality (or close enough) of an ear bud without having to press it into my ear to hold it into place. Enter the Jlab Flex Open-Clip True Wireless Earbuds. The idea seems to work well enough on paper. Clip on ear, pair and go. Pairing was easy enough as they connected to my Iphone and worked immediately. They slide quickly over your ear with the smaller part on the inside and the larger part on the outside and they are very light weight. The one problem I encountered initially was placement. Depending on how and where you place them on your ear, it can greatly compromise the sound quality. After much testing, I found that keeping them lower than higher produced the best sound quality. As for the sound quality itself, it is good. Not great, but good. Bass is minimal but acceptable. Treble is ok. I wouldn't use these for high level quality music but they work well enough for basic music, podcasts and more. I tend to listen to podcasts when working out so these fit right in. Build quality is solid and they come in the standard "earbud" charging case design that is USB-C. There is a cable included but it is super short. Luckily, these can be charged from just about any USB-C charger so I plugged them into my USB charging hub and that worked just fine. I did find that after awhile, the grabbing/pinching of the Jlabs was noticeable and started to irritate my ears a little. Not a game breaking level, but definitely there and something you may want to keep an eye on. Overall, I will use them for short workouts for which these will work perfectly, but for long term wearing, I feel like the clasping on my ear may become an issue.

I have been wanting the Bose Ultra Open earbuds, but don't want to spend the high price tag... so! I picked these up instead. The good-ish: - Comfortable (for about 3 hours) - Can hear everything going on around me - Good battery life The okay: - The sound The negative: - Not very loud - Spotty connectivity if I am walking around with my phone in my pocket - Not comfortable after about 3 hours of wear in a row - Mild Bass - Cheap Overall: I like and dislike these earbuds. They serve the purpose of being able to hear what's going on around me while at work, however, the spotty connectivity when I'm walking around is incredibly inconvenient, and is enough to make me contemplate returning them. Final verdict: They are okay.

I recently received the JLab Flex Open wireless earbuds, and I have to say, they’re unique. These earbuds have an open-ear design, which means they do not go inside your ear canal but rather sit just outside and grip the part called the Pinna. If you have ears that are above average in width, or your ear canal is situated more towards the front these may not be for you. Picture a rubber swimming nose clip, but it’s an earbud that grips your ear. This is great if you want to stay aware of your surroundings while listening to music or taking calls. The sound is decent, but do not expect booming bass or super crisp highs. They are good for podcasts, audiobooks, and casual music listening, but if you’re an audiophile, you might find them lacking. But they do have 2 preset equalizers set for “J Lab Signature” or “Balanced” sound plus the ability for a 3rd custom preset. Additionally, they have a preset Music or Movie mode. You can use both buds at once or either one as a standalone. The case is compact but lacks wireless charging. But it does have alternating polarity magnets so you cannot put the wrong earbud on the wrong side of the case! Plus they allow for multi-point connections which is a plus for buds at this price point. The phone app is intuitive and includes options to turn off the bud touch controls and limit the dB output from 85 to 100. They are quite comfortable for short periods, but the clip can feel a bit tight if you wear them for too long. It is a bit of a trade-off for the secure fit, especially if you are moving around a lot. The battery life is solid. I got around 7 hours on a single charge, and the case gives you a few extra charges, so you will not be left hanging during the day. They seem durable with an IP55 rating, which means they are resistant to dust and water. I have not had any issues with them during workouts or in light rain. They are affordable compared to other open-ear designs and you get a lot of value for the price.

BUILD QUALITY/DESIGN The earbuds themselves are solidly built while the case feels a bit on the less premium side. The look of the buds is almost earring-like. None of the promotional pics from JLab are taken straight on facing the user–they’re all oblique shots in which you can’t really tell how conspicuous the loops are. Depending on your ears and head shape, the loops will be more or less obvious. I don’t mind the look, but people will definitely notice and do a double-take. I would have preferred better marking of the left and right sides of the earbuds so that they are identifiable at a glance. An “L” and “R” are molded into the inside of the “earring” back, but to see it you need to pry the two ends open. There’s a USB C port in the back of the case. This is a welcome change from JLab’s signature integrated USB A cable. Although I always appreciated that cable, USB C is becoming more and more ubiquitous, and being able to use a phone charger cable is more convenient than finding an unused USB A port. THE SOUND (the good) I was impressed with the sound. I wasn’t expecting much more than very open sound with not much in the lows, but these surprised me with acceptable lows and fuller sound given that they are open air buds. In fact, the audio is actually downright good. It’s important to make sure that the drivers are facing the ear canal, so it can take some fiddling to get the best sound. I was intending the Flex buds to replace my bone conducting earphones for use while doing chores around the house and listening to podcasts or YouTube and Netflix. Bone conducting sets are admittedly a major compromise, and the Flex is a big step up in sound while obviously allowing for similar ambient sound passthrough. THE FIT (the not so good) The clamping pressure of the clips created hotspots inside my ears. I want to stress that I’m pretty sure this is going to vary for each user’s anatomy, but I feel like JLab should have either designed the clip with less clamping pressure or greater space between the driver section and the outer clip. The hotspots are tolerable to me for about an hour, after which it gets to a level that is either irritating or impossible to ignore. I’ll be able to use it for the intended purpose, but not for as long as I had hoped.

I got these for a very low price during holiday season, so I don’t feel so bad about keeping it. I would no recommend it otherwise. Pros: Mic Battery Comfort Size Cons The sound quality is not why you buy it. Mediocre Connectivity; when it works it’s fine. When it doesn’t… you have to rest them.
