The sound is very good, the only thing I don't like is that you have to use an application to play the music.

Excellent hifi grade speakers. Versatile and have many solutions incorporated into them. They would be great for a desktop solution, but I bought them for my office TV/multimedia setup. I have HDMI to the TV, optical to my CD player, and run my phono preamp to the aux input. Yes, the aux input bypasses the internal dac, however the other inputs don't have that option. That said, the internal dac and amplification (both speakers have their own isolated amplification and power cables) are fantastic. Not to mention Spotify and Tidal Connect. Changing inputs happens with the remote, I don't mind using it and quickly panning left and right to select the input (LED indicators on the main speaker). This to me, this product is a no brainer over a soundbar system, or a great 2ch/2.1 for a small room. I fully intend on adding a KC62 to it in the future with their wireless subwoofer adapter. Love the KEF Products - lots of quality of life here. I also purchased the matching stands for cable management, I included some phots.

These get better over time. They need to break in. The app makes it easy to fine tune. Debating if I still need a sub or not.

LSXII - Excellent Connectivity and Sound

These replaced an AV receiver and stereo speakers for TV duty in a medium-sized study. Along with a third-party sub, these easily fill the room. They sound great with movies and music connected to the TV’s optical connection using an Apple TV 4k as a source. They do not sound much different than the previous AVR/passive speaker combo except for movie dialogue, which I think is better with the LSXII’s. I would consider these too large for desktop speakers and too small for a large den or media room. Just right for a 250sqft room, though. I have not tried streaming from the KEF Connect app. AirPlay works fine. They wake on WiFi and you can set them to wake on a second source. An optical signal will not automatically switch the source. Other reviewers may be able to comment on source-switching with HDMI. Expensive, but I could not find any other set of active speakers with the connection options and good looks of the LSXII. They are not your typical sharp-cornered black boxes. Setup was easy and the app is great for integrating a sub with independent high and low-pass frequencies. They sound fine without the sub…plenty of bass for music though you may want more for movies. The stands are also expensive, but very sturdy with a threaded connection to the speakers. If you don’t mind the price, you will not be disappointed with these speakers in all but the largest spaces.

It has a great sound for a bookshelf in the end it boils down to your room dimensions. It has bit sharp tone for highs and a bit subsude mid range. If your room is compact and closed its a great choice

These are really great sounding speakers, really punch above their weight. Uni-Q driver is awesome, if you have not heard it, do yourself a favor and test these out. For a small desk, they are almost perfect. There are a few little things that a little more involved in getting these working. However, the adjustability these have with the software, really changes the game. Added a KC62 and the sound just comes alive. These will not give you room shaking bass, so do not expect that. They are clean, precise and look great.

I am very torn writing this review. Id like to start saying I returned these speakers because the secondary speaker cone was rattling at mid volume with slight bass. Definitely a defect and from what I can tell, rare coming from KEF. These speakers have a beautiful soundstage. If you turn the speakers on with your eyes closed, you wont be able to point out exactly where the cone is. They are phenomenal for the right listener. Jazz, classical, string instruments, etc are beautiful. Modern music, rap, dance, electronic, etc will not be this speakers strong suit. I wouldn't recommend these for gaming or movies. The bass just isn't there. I'm no basshead but these things are very bright. If you want the soundstage and form factor then I would suggest pairing these with a good subwoofer to make up for the lack of bass.

Thirteen is the magic number. That is how many times I had to order speakers at Best Buy for them to actually not cancel the order and ship the order. Over a week of my time. Best Buy inventory management sucks. They have been on sale for a few weeks, about 30% off. Here are some reasons I couldn't seem to get an order. Out of stock, but then becomes in stock again Paypal, maybe use credit card Credit card didn't work Try again, credit card thinks it is fraud happening Become a member Order something else Order something else again At first I was ordering LS50 Meta, same discounted price. Then changed course and tried to get LSX II Wireless. LSX II Wireless doesn't have meta material technology, it does have integrated DAC, 70 watt and 30 watt amplifiers for midrange and tweeter respectively. Integration with all wireless streaming services. Optical input and HDMI ARC, as well as analog in. The LS50 Meta's would have needed a matching quality amplifier to be best utilized, like a Macintosh, which I don't' have. So the smaller, wireless, self powered LSX II Wireless can be used in lots of places. Color is red, which demands attention, but might not match all decors. I didn't want the fabric versions. Set them up at my house, only a few iterations of ethernet and wifi configs with KEF app and required Google Home app. I brought them over to friend's house, set them up on his internet, a few more iterations of cable and wifi configuration challenges. Then brought them back to my house, and tried to set them up again, and was not successful. The requirement for android users to use all the cables, wifi, apps and especially Google Home (which sucks) make me figure I never want to have to deal with them again. Not ready for prime time if you are moving them around to different internet places. Sound is good, design is good (probably 30% of the costs), interaction with Beezer, Tidal, Qobuz all good. (I like Qobuz best for price/performance).

Well built speakers that look really nice and sound good. Good output for its size. These are small speakers; much smaller than anticipated (which is my fault). They’re best suited for smaller rooms. Setup was simple. I didn’t need or use instructions to pair speakers to network or to each other. Though I like the speakers from a sound and aesthetic perspective, they are expensive for what you get. For me Better options exist.

These speakers are very impressive little powerhouses that have tremendous high fidelity sound. KEF mid and high frequency is hard to beat. A bit weak on the low frequency end but still good for such a small package. A subwoofer would help here. Love the WiFi capabilities The only issue is the WiFi signal cuts out periodically and I’m not sure if that is a speaker or source issues yet. Must go online to get instructions as none are included. We got the KEF stands and it makes for a very stylish addition to our listening room. Very happy overall.

Super clean sound and the best speakers I’ve ever owned. A little low on the bass but good enough for a bit of immersion. The app allows for easy use between devices (turntable, TV, Spotify)

Awesome for listening to music!! Originally tried out many different sound bars and music on them just wasn’t the best, but tried out these guys and they’r amazing!! I only recommend them for small-medium sized rooms but they’re awesome, the only complaint I have is sometimes the speaker can rattle depending on how much bass is in the song but tuning everything made it a lot better. Thinking about pairing it to a subwoofer soon! And you can use any subwoofer not just the kc62. Overrall Strong recommendation from me :)

Great sound from digital sources. I have these set up as desktop monitors for near field listening at my computer and they sound amazing. If I could I would deduct one and a half stars. The usb driver implementation feels like a beta test. The volume control from my pc doesn’t incrementally increase but rather makes large jumps only 4 or 5 times between 0 and 100. It also frequently crashes requiring me to unplug the usb cable and replug them in. One more minor annoyance is that all analog signals from the line in are converted to digital and then back to analog which might be super frustrating for vinyl purists out there.

Wow these are good for computer speakers! Everything you hear about how good KEF powered speakers is true. As I said I use them as computer speakers at my work desk. The connectivity of these what originally got my attention. It has about every plug and wireless connection available. I purchased these without seeing or hearing them knowing BB would take them back if I was not satisfied. They are good sized but put out FANTASTIC sound near field at mid to low volumes. At really high volumes these do run out of juice but that level is too high at a desk. I don't know how to rate the value of these. These are expensive but the quality of sound is very close to speakers costing much more. I enjoy every minute listening to these. I bought a set of heavy duty tripods and mounted them 8" high off of the desk. The stands allow me to get them closer to ear level and have a swivel mechanism to point them just right. As a side note I would consider these and a subwoofer instead of a soundbar in my bedroom if these are in your budget.

I owned these speakers for 1 year and they consistently would stop working every few weeks. I think it was a problem with the goofy KEF app that runs the connection on your phone. Having eArc not work over and over again was incredibly obnoxious. Sound and form factor were nice enough, but the unreliable software/eArc is insane for this much money. I gave up an sold them. Go with with a reliable amp and passive speakers! I warned you!

5 stars for the great sound out of the compact speakers. However, way too complicated. Love the old school receiver and wired speakers. Took Geek Squad an hour to set them and get every thing talking to each other over wi-fi and using my phone to download an app, create an account, get the speakers to talk to the wireless sub woofer, tv etc. The next day I turned on the tv and nothing worked. Spent an hour trying to get them all to play nice with each other to no avail. Brought everything back and now going simple plug and play. To those that want to deal with the high tech of it all, great sound.

Got this during the Black Friday period, and I’m very impressed with these speakers. I use these wired via usb c to my Mac mini running Roon in my work office. These are “Roon Ready” and the integration of the speakers with Roon is great. Easily the best speakers I’ve owned.
