Customers enjoy the Yoga 910's lightweight design, impressive screen size, and strong performance. Many appreciate its long battery life and ease of use. However, some users have noted issues with fan noise and heat generation, while others find the placement of the shift key less than ideal. The fast SSD is also a frequently cited positive.

Good Laptop that is up to task

I have had the laptop for about a month now and have not had any problems with it. Some reviews mentioned that the fan was annoying and although it does kick on occasionally for a few seconds at a time and is a little loud compared to the silent running that is normal, I wouldn't say it was a problem. I typically have about a dozen programs running at once since I use this for work and it has always been up to task. Only gave it 4 stars because it is hard to say it is a 5 star product after only a month.

Great Laptop with Misplaced Right-Shift Key

this is my 2nd Yoga, I had the 900 model first and upgraded to the 910. they are both great machines; lightweight, powerful with excellent displays, especially on the 910. but that misplaced right shift key will definitely take some getting used to. It's a stretch for sure. (see attached pic). all I can say is practice, practice, practice, or return the machine! (I didn't use the right-shift typing this review; it was easier not to!)

With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP. lenovo

Love the thin profile and weight slightly over 3 lbs making the Yoga 910 very portable. The SSD speeds up startup and launching programs. The ultra hd touchscreen displays a brilliantly sharp image.

    Outstanding 2-in-1 Laptop!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This 2-in-1 laptop is outstanding! It replaced a Dell XPS 15 from 2011 that just wouldn't play nice with Windows 10. After exhaustive research of probably 20-30 different computers ranging from the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book all the way up to 17" behemoth gaming machines. My main priority was an outstanding display. The other features I wanted were an i7 processor, minimum 16gb RAM and 256gb SSD drive. I watched hours of YouTube video reviews and comparisons, read scores of articles, and looked at at least a hundred computers in Best Buy and other retailers. In the end, I just fell in love with the Yoga 910. I wasn't sure if I needed a 4k display or not, and it wasn't a requirement in my search, but I was leaning towards 4k since I plan to use the computer for at least three or four years, if not longer. I know 4k isn't fully utilized by many windows programs yet, but neither was 1080p when I bought my XPS nearly six years ago. So for future-proofing purposes, I think 4k is a plus. This display is really beautiful. Very clear and bright, with good contrast and great color that seems pretty accurate. It's not as bright as my old XPS, which I would generally keep at about 50% brightness indoors. I've been sticking around 75% brightness on the Yoga. So if you intend to use your computer outdoors very much, you might want to look elsewhere. The glossy screen would not help outside, either. The backlit keyboard has a great feel and good layout. I tested my typing speed for this review at 10fastfingers <dot> com and got a 95wpm score, which is significantly better than my usual. My only complaint about the keyboard is the Home/End/Page Down/Page Up keys being combined with the arrow keys accessible only by using the Fn key combo. The touchpad is extremely smooth and responsive. My fingers glide across it's surface and it responds well to two-finger scrolling and other multi-finger gestures. The only minor issue I've had is that the cursor seems to move quite often as I'm right-clicking causing it to miss the target of my click. I don't consider it to be a huge issue and figure I'll probably adjust to it, and it may even be something addressed by a future driver update. The watch band hinge is a polarizing feature based on my research. I find it to be very sturdy and, in my opinion, attractive. It is fairly stiff, requiring two hands to open the screen, but I don't mind that and feel like that bodes well for it's longevity. It easily folds back into tent and tablet modes and stays where you leave it with no undesired movement. The screen also doesn't wobble at all when I'm typing in regular laptop mode. The silver finish on mine is very attractive and doesn't seem to show fingerprints at all. Speaking of fingerprints, the built-in fingerprint reader works very well and allows for quick logins with the Windows Hello feature. Overall performance is very speedy, but you'll have to temper that judgment with the knowledge that this is my first SSD equipped computer. My XPS had a 500gb 5400 RPM hard drive, so pretty much any SSD would probably have impressed. Belarc reports my drive is a NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLW512, if anyone cares for that info. Boot times are incredibly fast and all disk operations seem to be as well. Photoshop start-up time on my old XPS was probably close to a minute or more, on this Yoga it's closer to 10 seconds or less. I read another user's review about this model having super loud fan noise under light to moderate load. I have had zero problems with heat or fan noise at all. I could barely hear it come on briefly while I was installing all of my apps, syncing my Google Drive and Dropbox and simultaneously trying to watch 4k videos on YouTube with Chrome. The fans are not a problem on this computer, so don't worry about that. Battery life is hard to judge at this point, because I've been using it heavily while installing my apps and have been plugging it in regularly just to keep it topped up. I'd expect something around 7-8 hours based on my usage so far, but your mileage may vary. There was no bloatware installed on this computer at all, which was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting to do a clean install right off the bat, but that turned out to be unnecessary. I will update this review if I have any significant changes to what I've written. I will also be happy to respond to any comments or questions.

    Best 2-in-1 ultrabook out there!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Disclosure: Lenovo Yoga 910 as part of the Lenovo INsiders program. All opinions are my own. The Yoga 910 refines essentially every flaw on last year's Yoga 900; with a drastically better keyboard and trackpad, larger display, smaller bezels, and much better battery life. Even though the Yoga 910 is 13.9" (almost an inch larger), it is the same exact size as the Yoga 900, meaning the sleeve for my Yoga 900 fits the Yoga 910 perfectly. Design- Just like last year's Yoga 900; the Yoga 910 has the same beautiful watchband hinge. The Yoga 910's hinge is actually much sturdier than the Yoga 900's hinge; which means that moving the display has much less wobble. This year though, the entire machine is made of metal. The sides are made of shiny, chrome metal, and the inside is covered with the all-metal unibody design. Resting my arms on the metal chassis feels great, since it's cool to the touch. Don't worry about the metal scratching; there's no scratches during the time I used it, and it's been carried in a backpack with a laptop slot. Also, the fingerprint sensor is super fast and responsive, awesome add-on. Performance- It's got the Intel Core i7-7500U processor, up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB PCIe storage. It's as top of the line as any ultrabook this range gets. It zips through whatever I throw at it. I edited multiple videos on it, and noticed no glitching or stuttering. I was able to stream YouTube while rendering a video, and even though the fans kicked in a full throttle, the system still didn't stutter. Speaking of the fans, I noticed in the beginning that the fan was always on, even though I wasn't doing much. There's a BIOS update on Lenovo Support that drastically improves this: I barely hear the fan when I'm just web browsing or editing documents. The only time I hear it is when I stream videos or edit/render video. Keyboard & Trackpad- The keyboard is much more clicky and gives you more tactile feedback than the Yoga 900. The left shift key is also larger, but the right shift key is a bit on the short side. I got used to it in a few days, and I'm able to type my typical 80wpm on this keyboard. I could see writing a paper or essay very enjoyable on this keyboard. There's a huge improvement on the trackpad. This time, it's a Microsoft Precision Trackpad, which means you get a lot of gestures that you didn't get before. More importantly, scrolling, regular trackpad usage, and zooming is miles better than the Yoga 900. Everything is smooth, just like using the touchscreen. It's pretty amazing the drastic difference the Precision Trackpad has over the non-precision trackpad. Display- It's about an inch larger than last year's display, even though it has the same dimensions, because Lenovo cut down the bezels. Texts and photos are extremely sharp on the UHD display, and the display get very bright. I had no issues using it near direct sunlight. The colors are vivid, and it has a high contrast ratio that leads to crisp details. Battery- It has a 78Wh battery, which is 30Wh larger than the Yoga 900, and is considerably larger than the competitors out there. If you're really power hungry and need a lot of battery life, you should go with the FHD model. Lenovo says up to 15.5 hours with that display. I have the UHD model, in which I get 8-9 hours of mixed usage. Of course, the UHD display takes up more battery because of all the pixels it has to push out; but it's entirely up to your needs. Audio- The two JBL speaker with Dolby Audio sound pretty good. There's a Dolby app preinstalled that allows you to change what mode you want to be in. There's movie mode, music mode, game mode, and voice mode. You can also personalize it to your liking. Dolby also adjusts the audio output when you which modes, and by that I mean laptop mode, tent mode, tablet mode, etc. Tons of modes! Webcam & Microphone- It has a 720p HD camera with dual-array microphones. The camera looks good; but since it's located on the bottom, typing during a video call would block about one-fourth of the camera viewing angle. Since it's a Yoga, I suggest propping it up into either tent or stand mode, and use it that way. Conclusion- It's the best 2-in-1 ultrabook out there. It's by far the best looking out there, but also has top of the line performance, a wonderful display, amazing battery life, and an amazing unibody metal design. I'd say the only thing to really consider is FHD vs UHD. If you need the laptop to last a really long time on a charge, the FHD is the best option because you get 15.5 hours of juice. Otherwise, the UHD is the way to go.

i7 - 7500, 16g RAM, 512g SSD, 4K screen I, like all of you, have read the reviews on the Yoga 910 before purchasing. After having this laptop for just over a month let me tell you my thoughts. 1. Fan noise is noticeable but only on heavy task..sometimes. Lenovo has a firmware update hat allows you to run the PC in quiet mode that helps a lot. I wonder if I just pay attention to it more since I am so worried about it. 2. Heat is very minor and never to hot to handle. 3. Processor becomes exactly how I would expect, handles multiple take like a breeze. 3. Screen looks awesome but does drain the battery quicker when set for 4K. Turn it down a couple notches and battery improves. 4. Battery- I find that I get a good 8 hours on average depending on if I'm watching more video or just cruising the web, or playing around with my virtual lab. 5. Build quality is top notch. Feels solid in your hand the watch band hinge is really pretty awesome. Makes me confident this laptop won't fail due to hinge issues like my last two have. Overall I give this laptop a 4

Have been a macbook air user for the last 10 years - wanted a somewhat bigger screen with touch capability but without sacrificing on portability . The lenovo 910 14' UHD delivers in all of them. Screen resolution is great, touchscreen works smoothly, so does the trackpad. While I have almost 1 inch more of screen, the computer is almost the same size and weight as my macbookair (Im impressed !). I has an overall sleaky and nice design, even though I am not much a fond of the watch band hinge - would rather prefer something more "traditional" for the hinge. Performance has been overall good (if you are a mac user, keep in mind it runs on windows = some unavoidable annoyance from the OS). Two issues highlighted in several reviews I bought before buying it are true - odd location of the shift key on the right and pretty noisy when the fan goes off. It has been two weeks since I had and so far so good - happy with my purchase

This computer is an absolute delight to use: it is incredibly fast with an amazing screen and great sound. It starts immediately with only seconds of load time. Internet download speeds are very fast. Navigating with the touch pad or the touch screen is perfect. I love using the computer as a "tablet" by flipping the keyboard completely over; surfing the web or watching shows is so easy. It is a great size and very lightweight. Also, it is super quiet with rarely any fan sound. The battery lasts all day and the case is strong enough for my use- I am not a road warrior. And the screen! It is beautiful! I never knew how crisp and clear digital photos were until now. A few things you should know (not really negatives) on a really amazing machine: The keyboard keys seem further apart than other laptops I have used. Also, with the placement of the shift key to the right of the up arrow directional key, it took me a while to get used to stretching my pinky finger all the way over. The volume is good, but could be a tad louder at full volume (no biggie: just connect a bluetooth speaker). I am looking for a thin fabric sleeve to cover the keyboard with in tablet mode; the keys can get in the way when holding it. The screen is not perfectly immobile when touching it in regular laptop mode. But its movement is minimal and not bothersome. Biggest negative: people think it is an Apple MacBook. Which it is not, because it is better in almost every way, especially the screen, processor and price!

Ok, to start, I did have some problems with this laptop. I'm actually writing this from my 4th(but final) Yoga 910. The first one I bought was great but, when the left side fan kicked in, there was a slight grinding sound, as if the blades were rubbing on something. It was minor but, for the money, I felt it shouldn't do it and returned it. The second one did the exact same thing but worse. The main fan(right side) on the third one made a very high pitched whine and smelled like smoke when it kicked on.. My fourth one is great however and I'm happy I stuck it out. Everyone is complaining about the fan noise. This has been fixed. From my experience, with four different 910s, it was never unbearably loud, but it was definitely noticeable and louder than expected. I can see how people could get annoyed by it. On 12-14-16, Lenovo released a new BIOS update that improved this issue immensely. It really is night and day. The fans run very quietly now and don't kick in nearly as often either. The good: The 4k screen looks great. The touchpad feels great, probably the best I've used. The keys are nice and big and make typing easy. The SSD is fast. From a completely shutdown state to online and loading your first web page is about 15 sec. The laptop is also very thin, very light and just feels like quality, aside from the fans. The not-so-good: Those cheap-o fans. Just know that you may have to wade through a few duds before getting one with ok fans. I think it's worth it though. The speakers are decent but could be a little louder. And I will NEVER understand why they are on the bottom of the laptop.. Those nice speakers are muffled by your lap or desk. Very bizarre choice. The webcam being at the bottom is a little weird too. This is solved by putting it in tent mode, but then you can't type and some apps don't flip the image, so you're upside down.

This was the top model available at the time by this brand which ive had good experiences with in the past. I needed fast solid state drive and processor for video editing. Be aware of only one usb port and no disc drives so external will be needed but fortunately are very inexpensive. I dont use the flip around tablet only style option, but the mechanism / joint that facilitates that function seems well designed. Battery life is very good and screen image and clarity is also very good. Unit is so flat and thin that i had to buy an additional case to put inside of my exisiting computer bag so it wasnt just flopping around. Lol.

This review after 1 month of use. Bought this one after months of researching. Reasons to buy • 4k monitor with 14 inch • Beautiful hinge band • Faster than XPS 2 in 1 • Fingerprint scanner Pros: • Gorgeous watch hinge band • 4K display with stunning color • High performance without any hassle • Fast boot • Lightweight • Fingerprint scanner • 2 in 1 • Fast charging Few things to consider: • Fan Noise: It does make fan noise when you playing games or working on photo/video editing. Latest Bios update which includes Quite Mode should help you bit. • Shift Key: It might be problem for a week and then your finger will get adjust to it • Battery life: It will give you about 7 hours with mixed usage as advertised by Lenovo. Suggestion to EDGE browser!. It has a very fast charger. • USB ports: This sometimes let me down. But an USB C hub should serve the purpose. • Web Cam: Placed in little awkward place. • Heat: With heavy load, the place between keyboard and display does heats up a lot. Hope this gives an idea for buyers! Conclusion; One of the worth investing Ultrabook in the market.

I love this computer! With a 14 inch screen it's a little bigger than other notebooks. Has a 4K screen which was a must for me and it is the lightest computer I have ever encountered. I honestly don't have even one complaint about it. It has fingerprint ID too which is awesome. As far as value goes this one to me beat the other laptops with price and specs out right now. I have never heard the fan come on as others have complained about, as I was researching this computer I heard it was just an update so maybe mine already had the update I'm not sure but I never had that problem. I got the upgraded computer that has the higher memory and GB and it's lightning fast. Great purchase and replaced an HP laptop that ended up being a huge disappointment. I love the look too it's thin, light, pretty and I love the way it closes.

I am very pleased with this device, the clarity, speed, and quiet operation. I like the weight and thin design with a larger screen size than my previous 2 in 1 device. Just a heads up to a potential buyer, some of my Windows apps do not recognize the new approach to fonts for a 4K display with Windows 10 especially with 1080p external monitors attached. Temporarily changing the internal display to 1080p has been a workaround. Hopefully app developers will catch up with upgrades. BTW, this device has successfully driven the internal display plus 3 external 1080p displays when needed.

What a beautiful laptop. I've had 5 macbook pros over the last 9 years and won't go back unless Apple can create a touchscreen with more horsepower than what they now call "pro." Flawless machined aluminum body! Good weight balance between the two halves. The touchscreen works perfectly and I find myself scrolling news by holding the laptop with my left hand and using my thumb to scroll directly on the display. The hinge is the best I've ever used and is stiff enough to be able to touch the screen without it wobbling. My left thumb fits in the watchband comfortably so I can walk around the house while using this laptop comfortably. Only the SSD, wifi module and battery are replaceable but that means I'll be able to install a ~4TB drive in this 2 years from now. The factory 512GB drive reads at 2.8GB/s and writes at 1.9GB/s. Samsung SM961 high end stuff. The bottom-right of the keyboard is laid out impractically for me so I keymapped the shift and arrow keys around to make it behave more like my macbook keyboards. From: <slash> <up> <shift> <left> <down> <right> To: <slash> <shift> <up> <left> <right> <down> The fans kick in a little loud and settle quickly, it would be nicer if they turned on more gently. Still subtle. CPU is pretty good, 16GB RAM is great. What really surprised me is that I can charge my Nexus 5x with the laptop power adapter and charge the laptop with my anker usb charger that I use for my phone, watch, camera... Interchangeable phone and laptop chargers! On my last flight I played Civilization VI in 4k, touchscreen tent mode with low graphics settings for 4 hours, with 26% battery remaining afterwards. This laptop in tent mode on a coach seat flip-down table is glorious. I need some 4k movie rips...

Great ultraportable laptop! Great battery life, extremely light and powerful! It's Lenovo! I have used for the last 7 years a Lenovo T420s - no issues at all! And this one does exactly what it is expected from it! This is not a gaming laptop! It is a powerful, light ultra-portable machine!

The touch screen works exactly as you'd like... being able to touch magnify, or point and navigate. The machine is just fast, quick network, SSD, even the USB interfaces impress you with how quickly they move data. Fully supported with driver and BIOS updates on a regular basis.

The Lenovo Yoga 910 has everything you want from a highly portable and highly powerful 2 in 1. It has Intel's latest generation i7 chip, comes with up to 16gb of ram, a finger print sensor and up to 1TB ssd. The icing on the cake was the 4K screen and a total weight right around 3lbs.... At its price point and quality level, it should be the best of the best......BUT FOR one major issue and one minor one. Major issue: for whatever baffling reason, they cut the right shift key in half, and put an up arrow on the in...side and the shift key on the out...side. For anybody who touch types, this is a categorical deal breaker. I gave it every chance, tried to adjust my typing, bought an external keyboard and mouse for when I'm docked, everything. But every time I got on the road, I just could not type. This may seem like a small issue, certainly when I saw it in reviews, I ignored it. Let me just say, I ended up returning the laptop for this reason alone. Best Buy had the laptop ridiculously priced (the good ridiculous), and it pained me to have to give it up, but I had no choice. Minor Issue: The camera is at the bottom of the screen, which makes any video conferencing highly awkward as the close-up is of your nose hairs. That said, this really is a minor issue I could live with and likely required to accommodate the perfect 4K screen.

With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP. lenovo

Clearly, this is a classy machine. The profile is thin, the bezels are nearly non-existent, and the watch band hinge is sharp. Move beyond the aesthetics and this is still a competent device, with 16 gigs of RAM and an available 4K screen that is stunning to behold. I've had my 910 for a couple weeks, and it appears to sport great battery life, thanks to the i7 Kaby Lake and its alleged extra efficiency. So far my only qualms are the intermittent fan noise issues, which stem from software and not hardware related issues; likely the minimal applications Lenovo has pre-installed on the device. Thankfully, it is relatively bloat free and will not require as much time to optimize as other off-the-shelf systems I have purchased in the past. I would give this laptop four and a half stars, being knocked only half a star because of the fan issues and the useless fingerprint reader. Seriously, you are more likely to be recognized by a childhood friend in the middle of China than your index finger by this laptop, which is a stunning fail. I would say 1 out of every 15 attempts does this laptop recognize my well-trained fingerprint. My OnePlus 3T phone has a 95% success rate, and does it within 3 milliseconds. Why can't Lenovo build in a quality fingerprint sensor on this pricey, upmarket laptop? Hopefully a software patch can fix this myopic security misstep. Even if it doesn't, however, it earns its solid 4.5 with relative grace.
