    Horrible, terrible, UI

I’ll give this 2 stars even though it should be 1. Gets 2 only for the picture quality. Going by picture quality this could be 4 or 5 stars. It’s very good. What fails is the remote. The UI. It is terrible. First, I have a Magic Remote from a different LG TV. Does it work on this TV? Of course not. They want you to buy another one to pair with this particular TV. Sound? Same thing seems to be true of external speakers. Near as I can tell you have to use an LG soundbar. Nothing else works. The UI? Not intuitive at all. Something as simple as setting a sleep timer involves multiple button pushes, when it should be a dedicated button on the remote. But by far the biggest problem is the Home Screen. Taking up what I would guess is 15% of the Home Screen is Device Functions. These include Edit App List (which has 2 separate icons. Both the same.),Guide, User Guide, and Home Hub. (See Edit App List above. Again 2 separate icons. In case you can’t find one, use the other?) Once you have your apps installed are you really going to edit them? Once you learn how to set up the TV do you really need the User Guide? And of course the bloatware. You get the idea. Can not, and would not recommend an LG TV.

Hi Tom. Thank you for your detailed feedback on the LG 50UT7570PUB TV. We’re pleased you’re satisfied with the picture quality, but we understand your concerns regarding the remote, UI, and sound options.

For remote compatibility, please ensure you’re using the correct model for your TV. The LG Magic Remote compatible with this TV is specifically designed to enhance user experience.

Regarding sound, while LG soundbars are optimized for our TVs, you should be able to connect external speakers through the appropriate audio settings in the menu.

For the UI issues, we appreciate your input and will consider it for future updates. In the meantime, you might find it helpful to consult the TV's manual or online resources for tips on navigating the settings more efficiently.

Please send us a private message on our social media platform via @LGUSSupport if you need additional support or have further questions. We’re here to assist you in making the most of your LG TV. ^Sam LG

    LAGGY

If this TV wasn't already hooked into my wall, I'd be taking it back. The home screen is dominated by stuff I don't want - half with ads for TV programs I don't care about, 'collections' in boxes for 'sport', fitness' , entertainment etc etc. I can't get rid of them. I don't get cable and my service is over the internet only - this TV doesn't seem to understand that this is a thing. As every review says, the response is laggy - you press a button and nothing much seems to happen. I've never had such an awful user experience. These guys should stick to refrigerators.

    Immediately returning

I’ve had it for just two days and want to return it if I could find another brand. I can’t stand tvs with glowing lights when it’s turned off; it messes with my sleep. The remote has too many unnecessary buttons and I didn’t know numbers were still a thing. I have to turn a light on to find what I need instead of by touch and memory like all other remotes in the house. One wrong press and I’m out of what I was watching and have to reload. There is a delayed connection between remote and tv; I have to press twice until I realize it’s a delayed signal which again can make you have to start all over. The sound quality is cheap.

Hi, Danielle. Thank you for sharing your honest feedback on the LG TV (50UT7570PUB) model. We understand your concern about your experience so far hasn’t lived up to expectations—especially when it comes to the remote layout, responsiveness, and sound quality. We strive to provide high-quality products and ensure a smooth viewing experience.
For the standby light disrupting your sleep, you can disable the LED indicator by going to Settings > All Settings > General > System > LED Indicator and toggling it off. That should help keep your room dark when the TV is off.

Regarding the remote: we’ve passed along your input about the button arrangement and sensitivity to our design team for future consideration. For enhanced control, the LG ThinQ app on your smartphone might offer a smoother, more customizable alternative.

Sound quality can also be tailored in Settings > Sound > Sound Mode, or even improved by connecting a soundbar or Bluetooth speaker. And for the delay, try ensuring Quick Start+ is enabled under Settings > General > System for faster responsiveness.

We’d be happy to walk through these tips with you—please reach out to us directly @LGUSSupport on social media. We’d love to help improve your setup. ^Juvy LG
