A High-end Vacuuming Experience!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's products like this that can take a mundane task, such as vacuuming, and make me actually look forward to it. This LG CordZero is most certainly the most premium stick vac with one of the strongest motors that I've ever used. For starters, the build quality is excellent. The stick vac itself is constructed from beautifully finished aluminum and premium grade plastics that feel like they will hold up well over time. The thoughtfully designed tower is constructed from plastic which helps keep it light if you need to move it around. Although LG recommends situating the base on hard floors for optimal stability, I tested situating the tower in both hard and carpeted surfaces. In both scenarios the tower was very sturdy. This is due to a large base that LG includes which adds a great amount of stability. I love the way LG designed the grip on this stick vac. The handle is extremely comfortable for long sessions and I love that I don't have to hold down a trigger button to keep the vacuum powered on as you do with some other well known brands. The performance and convenience that the CordZero stick vac offers is in a league of it's own. The CordZero vac has an incredibly powerful motor that provided some of the best suction I've ever seen for a stick vac. LG backs this motor with a 10 year warranty too! Dust and small debris was effortlessly picked up on both my carpeted and tiled surfaces. For some debris, like yarn or string that was deeply imbedded in my carpet, it did take a few passes to suction them up but eventually got them all. For larger debris, like chunks of cereal, I did have to lift the vacuum up a bit in order to pick them up. A really useful feature with this stick vac is the built-in obstruction sensor that immediately alerts you to any debris that may have gotten clogged in the body of the vacuum. While this only happened to me once (while I was testing vacuuming large chunks of cereal), placing the vacuum on the tower and utilizing it's auto-empty function removed the debris. However, you may need to manually disconnect the vacuum product body in order to manually clear the debris. This CordZero stick vac has three power levels; Normal, Power, and Turbo. I always run this vac on the "Power" mode as it provides the best balance between great suction and good battery life. I live in a two story 1300 sq ft townhome that is primarily carpeted but also has some tile surfaces. Therefore, vacuuming my entire home is usually pretty time consuming. I was able to thoroughly vacuum the entire downstairs and upstairs of my home in 30 minutes using the "Power" setting. With one battery, the "Power" setting lasts me 35 minutes and the "Turbo" setting lasts me 9 minutes and 30 seconds. I love that LG provides two batteries as it allows me to do additional vacuuming after my upstairs and downstairs has been completed. The combination tool attachment was great for cleaning my sofa, my air purifier sleeves, and dust from some of my wall art. The crevice tool was perfect for cleaning along the crown molding or along crevices in the bathrooms. Although I don't have pets, I tested the pet attachment on pillows that had some human hair and it did great! I did also try the LG Thin Q app but aside from seeing my cleaning history and some cleaning guide tips provided by LG, I personally didn't find much use for it. However, there is a smart diagnosis feature if you do ever experience any issues with your vac. A quick note: the app will ONLY work with the 2.4Ghz wireless band. Since my home wireless router advertises both 2.4Ghz AND 5Ghz in a single SSID, it would not initially allow me to connect the stick vac. I had to manually create a 2.4Ghz SSID on my wireless router in order to be able to connect to it. For those wondering, manufacturers typically impose this restriction as the 2.4Ghz band allows for much better distance than the 5Ghz band. To be honest though, I don't think you're missing much by not using the app anyway (but your mileage may vary). In terms of maintenance and convenience, I could not be happier with the features of the CordZero. Even though the CordZero is a beast of a stick vac, the all-in-one tower is the star of the show. The auto-emptying experience has been flawless for me. The auto emptying-tower has two modes with a press of a single button: auto-empty and manual empty. As the name suggests, auto-empty will automatically empty the dust bin every time you dock your vac in the tower. I personally prefer the manual mode as I like to sometimes temporarily dock my vac in the tower as I move objects around in my living room while I vacuum. This requires you to simply press a button when you dock the vac to start the emptying cycle. Every empty cycle I've had on the tower has been fantastic. This is due to it's incredibly strong suction. It leaves the dust bin looking like new. Replacing the bag is super easy. You simply open one of the side tower doors and pull on the neon green hinge which exposes the dust bag slider. As you grab and pull out the dust bin slider tab, it closes the fill hole automatically in order to prevent dust from spreading in the air. There's also a convenient little window that you can peek through to see how full the bag is. LG also includes a couple of free replacement bags to get you started. Another feature I really like about the tower is the thoughtful storage considerations. Both sides of the tower have panels that open up to reveal storage areas where all of your attachments neatly clip unto. LG even thought about a storage hook for the included brush (love when manufacturers pay attention to the small things!). The tower also includes an integrated charging dock for the spare battery which is tucked away neatly at the top of the tower. I found the Kompressor feature on the stick vac to be very practical during my use. Since you don't get an oversized dust bin, the Kompressor lever allowed me to compress the dust and debris as I vacuumed throughout my home (freeing up extra space in the dust bin in the process). Cleaning the pre-filter (LG includes a free replacement) and mesh filter was a simple process. Simply remove the exhaust filter cap on the body of the vacuum to expose the pre-filter and you can then wash it under running water. LG recommends that this should be done once a month. The cyclonic mesh filter can also be removed with the crevice tool (by turning it counter clockwise) and then you simply rinse it under running water and let it dry for 24 hours. Are there any things that I wish LG could have done better? Although I do consider this to be one of the best premium stick vacs currently on the market (if not the best) there's a few minor things that I think LG could still improve upon. I do wish that this stick vac was outfitted with an oversized dustbin. Due to the extremely powerful motor, the stick vac captures a ton of dust and debris very quickly. And although the Kompressor lever helps with compacting the debris, I still found myself having to empty the dust bin after finishing my downstairs before moving onto my upstairs. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. I would have also liked to have seen the addition of either some type of LED or laser guided light that could help illuminate my surfaces when vacuuming in more more dimly lit areas. The only other minor con I can think of is that sometimes debris can get stuck behind the Kompressor ring which will prevent the lever from going all the way up again (this was somewhat self-inflicted as I allowed the dustbin to get too full). If this happens, you simply have to manually remove the cyclonic mesh filter by using the crevice tool (the notches on the crevice tool will line right up with the notches on the bottom of the cyclonic mesh filter) and then turn the crevice tool counter clockwise. The mesh filter will come right off allowing you to freely reach in or shake out the debris. This is very easy to do and only happened once during my use. I highly recommend preventing the dustbin to get filled to the brim with debris in order to prevent this from happening. Overall, I'm very impressed with the performance of the CordZero and the amazing convenience factor that the tower offers. It's also gorgeous enough to look like a center piece in my living room. If you're looking for one of the best stick vacs currently on the market, the LG CordZero and it's all-in-one tower delivers a premium experience that is really difficult to beat.

Great cordless stick vac
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There’re a lot of components when first unpacking, but don’t let it overwhelm you. It took about 20 minutes to differentiate where the pieces connect and read the manual. There’s a lot and I was a bit surprised since this is a vacuum. I do like how it comes with a base and slip pads under it to give a nice grip to the floor. I admit, I wasn’t sure how powerful this was going to be when I first powered it on. It was very quiet compared to my other vacuums. The normal setting seemed to do really well on my vinyl flooring. I used my other vacuum earlier in the week and was surprised with the amount of debris this picked up. I know this is going to do a great job keeping my house clean. I did try the turbo cleaning feature, but noticed the battery drained very quickly. It feels great in the hand and takes minimal effort to push on the vinyl floor. I was able to vacuum the stairs in my house with ease. Something I normally fear (of falling), doesn’t bother me anymore. Its ability to pivot and turn help significantly. I didn’t notice some resistance when I vacuumed the carpet areas upstairs. Not sure if it’s suppose to be like this, but time will tell. What I really like is that it can extend if you’re a taller person. Love the sleek and modern look. I like how you can open up the side panels to store the attachments. It’s a nice touch and shows the designers tried to make this top notch. Pros: Lightweight Powerful Quick charge Long battery Clean modern look Very quite 2 rechargeable batteries included Can hold all the attachments hidden away Wall anchor options Cons: Have to purchase replaceable waste bags Can suction a little better under normal setting Overall: I highly recommend this LG cordless vacuum. It’s a tad on the pricey side, but how often do you purchase vacuums? It’s super quiet, so I’ve been able to use it while the kiddos are sleeping. This should last a few years!

Convenient all in one, but not Perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing has a certain aesthetic, either it will fit in with your modern décor or be a great talking point next to the pantry. The LG Cord Zero Cordless Stick Vacuum with All-in-One Tower is an amazing idea, that almost lands a perfect score in my mind, but a few of the design decisions make it not so. Overall, it’s on par with other stick vacuums I’ve used but the tower is a great addition to the overall design. Pro's • Tower keeps everything organized and ready to go. • Easy to use and maintain. • Light weight. • Removeable batteries. Con's • Vacuum power is low, even on turbo. • Tower Bags are added expense. • Lots of Tool heads, only use 2. My favorite feature about the LG Cord Zero is the rechargeable batteries, and the fact you get two of them is fantastic. There is rarely a need to swap batteries, as the All-in-One Tower charges both batteries while not in use, so even when one runs out, the 2nd battery is fully charged and ready to go. No down time waiting to charge a battery or finding out the battery is dead when you need to clean up a mess. Additionally, if you setup the ThinQ app, it will notify you once the battery is fully charged or if the tower needs an action such as the tower bag is full. Pretty much no down time or guess work with this vacuum. The Auto Empty feature is amazing, why don’t more stick vacuums have a feature like this? But the biggest downside of this feature is the non-reusable tower bag design, a convenient yet added expense to an already high-end product. If the tower had a bin or reusable bag, this would be an almost perfect design. As the alternative is just manually emptying the stick vacuums bin into the garbage, which is easy to do, this required cost to use a time saving feature takes a star away for me. Others may find this time savings worth it, but I prefer products that are designed to waste less over being convenient. The Kompressor, which is just a lever on the side to help press down the debris that has been collected, is a genius addition to a stick vacuum. It keeps everything compacted together so you can fit more in one go and when emptying it manually, the compacted junk stays together for a quick empty. The filters on this catch most, if not all, of the dust and particles picked up by the vacuum. The stick vacuum itself has a 5-stage filtration system, with two of the filters being washable as well as the fine metal filter in the bin. If that’s not enough, the tower also has a 3-stage filter for when using the Auto Empty feature, that keeps the dust sealed away and not back in the room. The filtering on this vacuum is very well thought out. This was the first stick vacuum I have owned; I’ve only lightly used other stick vacuum models before but never owned one. So, I was a bit underwhelmed by the performance of this type of vacuum. It is good for light messes such as dust, dirt, and pet hair. But it struggles with the bigger pieces of junk on the floor like pebbles or sticks. I won’t be throwing out my old, corded vacuum any time soon due to the LG Cord Zero, but I’ll be vacuuming a whole lot more often due to how easy it is now. Overall, the LG Cord Zero with the All-In-One Tower is a great stick vacuum combo, with a lot of thought and effort put into the design to be as convenient and easy to use as possible. But I am still going to keep around my old vacuum due to the mediocre power of the stick vacuum and will keep an eye out for a reusable tower bag as I want to be more economic and environmental. Would recommend it if you need an easy to use, convenient, and light duty vacuum.

Nice vacuum, but missing some features.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG CordZero A9 Compressor Cordless Stick Vacuum is an impressive looking product as you pull it out of the box. It doesn't look much like anything else out there in the market in the vacuuming space. Set up was pretty easy, out of the box, the main tower is all put together, you just need to assemble the vacuum cleaner and place the accessories into the tower. It even comes with a vacuum bag pre installed in the tower. The LG CordZero comes with two batteries, they are bright yellow and don't aesthetically go that well with the vacuum, but they are also very small. That is a concern for battery life. LG claims up to 120 mins run time (60 mins per battery), but in my experience, I felt that I needed to press the 'TURBO' button to get suction that is comparable with my current cordless stick vacuum. To that end, I found that the battery drained quite a lot quicker. I have a 4000sqft home and it was a struggle for the vacuum to be able to run over the course of a single battery for a full home clean (one hour of power), on a variety of hard wood and carpeted areas. My current stick vacuum runs 45 mins and keeps power for the whole home. And talking of transitions, at this price point, I would expect some features, like floor sensing, so that the vacuum knows if it is on hardwood or carpet, and adjust suction automatically, but instead, you have + and - buttons on the handle to turn on or off 'TURBO' mode, so you have to do that manually as you transition between floor types. I know, I know, first world problems, but that is a feature I am used to on my current stick vac. Another feature that would be nice to see at this level are LEDs integrated into the cleaning head, for when you are vacuuming under chairs, tables etc. Something that sets this vacuum apart tho, is the A9 Kompressor feature which has a lever that allows you to compress the dust and dirt in the chamber to increase vacuuming volume without having to go back to the tower. Another nice feature is it's wifi connectivity that allows you to monitor the vacuums status and it sends you a notification when the battery is fully charged. That is definitely a nice feature. The tower is nicely designed, it's sleek and minimalistic. You can open it up - the instructional literature shows the doors opening a full 90 degrees, but the doors on ours do not open up that far, which actually impeded trying to mount a couple of accessories in the storage area, especially the pet head roller. You can set the tower to automatically empty the vacuum when you place the vacuum back in the cradle. It is a little too musical before it empties the vacuum, there are a lot of sounds and tunes that play, but it does a great job of emptying the vacuum, something that my current stick vacuum does not do. The emptying process is quite loud, but it doesn't last long. As I mentioned, there is a bag inside the tower that will need to be emptied from time to time. Thankfully there are several filtration methods on the vacuum, so odors shouldn't be an issue with the dirt and dust sitting in the tower. The tower not only charges the vacuum battery, but also the spare battery at the same time, so you have instant access to more power should you need it. As for the stick vacuum itself, it is very compact, lightweight, but there are a couple of things I would change. The vacuum head is really quite small, I am used to a larger cleaning head, so it takes less passes to clean an area. This is important with large open areas of hard wood floors or carpet. The length of the vacuum hose has to be opened up every single time I use the vacuum, it is far too short for me, as you pull it off of the tower. And being as you have to do this every single time you use it, I am concerned about the longevity of the mechanism. And there is a protrusion which is supposed to be a finger rest/grip, but for me, it is a little obtrusive for any length of time. Overall, this is a solid machine, with some great innovation, but I feel it's also lacking some features that would make it truly great. This vacuum will become the 'upstairs' vacuum in my home, as a convenient alternative to taking my current stick vacuum with me around the home. It's a nice piece of design, convenient and does have some great features. It is not a bad vacuum at all, and I would recommend it to friends and family.

Lots of innovation and smart design
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initial Impressions: The LG CordZero Cordless Stick Vacuum with All-in-One tower is unique from other stick vacuums in several ways. First, the wand is telescopic. Second, the LG CordZero comes with two battery packs. Think electric drill type battery packs. Third, the inclusion of a multi-function, free standing tower. Fourth, disposable vacuum bags. fifth, dust cup auto clean. There is no longer a need for you to stand over the garbage pail and drop your flap! Not unless you want to. And Sixth, homework, uh, very thick User’s Guides. There are a lot of great things to like about the LG CordZero. There are also a few not so fun things that I will discuss under the “Not so Fun Things” section. Overall, I think this is a very solid product that is well designed and full of useful innovations. Unpacking and Setup: First, about 80% of the packing material is cardboard. The remainder is a combination of Styrofoam (for the Tower), Styrofoam bags, and a few plastic bags. The LG CordZero also ships with two large User’s Manuals that I recommend you read before using either the LG CordZero or the Tower, a few quick start guides, a warranty-ish kind of sheet, and a few other documents. The LG CordZero ships in a single box with three smaller boxes inside: one for the tower, one for the motor and telescoping wand, and one for the accessories. Unpacking and setup took about an hour. I spent another hour looking through the manuals and quick setup guides. The LG CordZero is a bit more sophisticated than your regular, run of the mill stick vacuum. For example, the vacuum needs to be loaded into the tower, a bell indicates that the vacuum has been loaded properly so battery charging and dust cup cleaning can take place, and then removal lift first then extract. For my wife, the dust cup popped off the vacuum the first time she extracted the vacuum. More on the dust cup incident in the “Not so Fun Things” section. The Tower has indicator lights and touch settings that are only described in the manual. The good news is LG auto loaded the filters in the LG CordZero and in the tower. They also pre-loaded a dust bag in the Tower and provided two additional dust bags and an additional yellow filter. The tower has a storage compartment on either side of the unit. All the accessories that ship with the LG CordZero have a hanger location. Which is nice considering most other stick vacuums include a bag that you fill and throw in your bottomless basement for safe keeping… One word of warning, the Tower is not easy to move. The sides are too smooth to get a good grip. To help, LG located carry handles on either side of the Tower hidden behind both doors. If you need to move the unit then open each door, grab the handles, and then lift to move. The tower has an attachable foot with stick on grip pads to add stability to the tower. LG also includes some wall anchors and nylon rope to secure the tower to the wall. This way, the tower is less likely to fall over. The tower is heavy, stable, but there is always the possibility that someone could knock it down and cause injury. Finally, the two batteries for my unit arrived fully charged. Loading and unloading batteries into the stick vacuum and the tower are just as easy as loading and unloading the batteries in your wireless drill. Cleaning Power: The LG CordZero has three power modes. Wimpy (my term), Medium, and Turbo. I used the universal nozzle to clean my basement floor for my first cleaning. My basement is semi-finished having a combination of vinyl tiles, low pile rugs, concrete, and soft foam tiles. The floor space is about 1000 sq feet. I started with Wimpy power and quickly moved to medium power once I saw that wimpy power was doing a terrible job of cleaning up stray kitty litter around my cat box. I switched to Turbo power because medium power was having a difficult time picking up little bits of paper scattered around my wife’s craft area. Turbo did a fantastic job of picking up almost everything on the floor. Overall, I was able to fill the dust cup with hair, dirt, kitty litter, and other loose debris. See photo. On turbo mode, I got about 10 to 15 minutes run time out of each battery. It took both batteries to clean my basement. The cement and vinyl tiles were the easiest surfaces to clean. The low pile rug was more of a challenge. More on that in the next section. The foam tiles were impossible using medium or turbo power. Switching to wimpy mode made the foam tiles vacuumable. And did a pretty good job on wimpy. The manual recommends one of the cleaning wands for a foam tile surface. Which I ignored. The dirt collection is significant. One of the unique features of the LG CordZero’s dust cup is a lever that allows me to compress the dirt and hair captured into the dust cup to the bottom of the dust cup. This can extend the use time of the vacuum during longer, heavier cleaning sessions. It is also an important part of the tower’s cleaning cycle. Cleaning the dust cup, regardless of how it is cleaned, is made much easier with the inclusion of the lever. Other features: The included pet tool does a good job of removing pet hair. I have a Jersey Wooly rabbit which leaves fine, whisper thin hair everywhere he goes. He loves hanging out with me in my home office during the day and leaves a mess of white hair all over the rug and floor. I used the pet tool on the rug. See included before and after photo. The pet tool did a good job of cleaning up the pet hair but did a terrible job at everything else. I needed to use the universal nozzle to finish the rug cleaning job. I also found a wad of hair caught in the pet tool that I had to manually remove when I swapped out the nozzles. I also used the pet tool on my exercise mat which was also covered in rabbit hair. It did a good job. It is also small enough that I could get into the tight spaces around my exercise bike and along the walls. The different nozzles that ship with the LG CordZero easily store inside of the Tower. However, there is no space in the tower to store extra filters or dust bags. It would have been a bonus if there was a small shelf in the tower for additional storage but not a deal breaker. The telescoping wand is one of my favorite features. LG included a slider switch on the wand that depresses in the direction you want to expand or contract the wand. The switch and the telescoping movement is effortless. The telescoping wand also brings more flexibility from a usability perspective. Some jobs require a three-foot wand. Some jobs, like tight cleaning spaces, can benefit from a wand half the length. For example, the telescoping wand allows me to work easier in the tight space behind my entertainment center. Normally, I bump up against my speakers, TV, photos, and subwoofers. A shorter stick length has an easier time allowing me into these tight spaces. Along this line, the motor is also much smaller and lighter than a plug-in stick vacuum. This also increases cleaning flexibility in tight spaces as mentioned above. I no longer need to worry about managing a cable while trying to not scratch my speakers or subs. Finally, the other nozzle attachments are nothing special. The crevice tool and brush tool are like every other modern vacuum I have used. They can be used at the end of the wand or directly connected to the handle. They do a good job. The different vacuum power modes will obviously impact performance for each nozzle. Not so Fun Things: The dust cup came off the LG CordZero the first time my wife removed it from the tower. One of the two hinge pins holding the dust cup door to the dust cup fell into the dust bag located inside the Tower. The two coil springs that wrap around the hinge pins dropped to the floor. Re-attaching the door took a considerable amount of force. I needed a small vice to squeeze the dust cup enough to allow the pins to be reinstalled. See included photo. Since reassembly, I now need to manually close the dust cover every time I remove the vacuum from the tower. I have no idea if this is normal behavior because the door broke off the very first time it was removed from the tower. The second not so fun thing is the mobility of the Universal Nozzle. As mentioned above, the vacuum does a good job. But the universal nozzle is very difficult to push across a rug of any thickness. My first rug was an extremely low pile rug. I was surprised by the overall resistance pushing the universal nozzle across the rug. A rug with a slightly thicker pile was higher resistance. I could still clean the rug, but it took additional force than a hardwood, tile, or concrete floor. And much more force than I must apply with other stick vacuums I have used. Ease of mobility on a rug also seems proportional to the vacuum power being applied. I think the LG CordZero will have an issue with any rug ticker than a low pile rug. Final Thoughts: The LG CordZero is feature rich and does require the review of LG’s provided manuals before you will be able to fully realize the benefits of this vacuum. There is a lot of intelligent design here including the dust cup auto cleaning, telescoping wand mechanism, and swappable batteries. The tower is sturdy, very useful, and refreshing after owning several stick vacuums with either a cheap wall hanging gimmick or no storage mechanism at all. There are additional nozzles available separately for the LG CordZero such as a mop nozzle, bedding nozzle, and flexible hose extension to name a few. Another feature I do not have room to address is the LG app which connects to the vacuum. The app reports on Cleaning mode, performs Smart Diagnostics, and issues Filter Alarms that will let me know when it is time to maintenance the filters. Overall, I think LGs direction is refreshing and adds a level of flexibility that is not readily available

Great vacuum with smart innovations and features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This CordZero with Tower brings plenty of smart innovations and a few misses. The clear innovation here is the auto-emptying feature. It works well, emptying the vacuum into the tower collection bag like a an interesting robot, with various moving parts that seem well-designed and reliable. No gripes or issues here, it's a bit mesmerizing to watch. I’ve been a stick vacuum owner for a long time, usually buying top-tier models, so I’m a bit spoiled by available power/suction and design. This vacuum goes beyond the rest with this feature. When you don’t have a kitchen (or large) trashcan nearby for emptying these vacuums, you run the risk of making a big mess. I keep this vacuum in a lower floor, without said large-trashcan, so this tower is incredibly handy and preventing mess and providing convenience. Another feature I’m happy about is the ‘Kompressor’ lever that allows you to press debris inside downward from and exterior lever. This prevents build up of pet fur that’s usually hard to remove when emptying. Beyond those, other quality of life inclusions are the second battery that charges within the stand, a single button to press on/off to control the vacuum (in lieu of continuously-pressing a trigger), and attachments that have a home within the stand, out of view. The quality of the design and aesthetics are all great. This looks good, and a step up from their prior stands and vacuums. Interaction points within the tower are a nice yellow-green to attract your attention to their function, including the bag release and filter. Everything feels solid, with robustness I haven’t seen in a while. That robustness continues to the disposable tower collection bags, which almost seems like a shame that you’re meant to discard them. That gets me to a few gripes… First, in it’s normal suction level, it’s quiet, but not at powerful as my other stick vacuums. You can increase this speed, but there isn’t any apparent auto-power adjustment, so you may have to think about it. This power-nozzle is also fairly difficult to push on modern carpet flooring. There aren’t adjustable airflow channels on the bottom to reduce drag on the floor, but real issue may be that the design itself may simply get more stuck on such floors. Pushing forward on carpet takes more effort than my other stick vacuums. Despite all of the features you get for the price, I still feel like the vacuum is missing a hard-floor specific power nozzle (i.e. fluffy bar) The bristles on the included one seem too stiff to safely use on my LVT (vinyl) floors in some spaces. LG sells one as an optional accessory, but had they included it here, the package would be feel properly complete. Comfort could also be a bit better. The stick is aligned with your grip and possibly as a result, the vacuum feels a bit less balanced in the hand. The curved finger notch may also be part of this lack of stability at times. None of these gripes are deal breakers though, the vacuum remains a great choice and you certainly get a lot of conveniences for buying this package. LG did a lot of good with this one! In summary, Pros: - Self emptying is very convenient, more clean when a large trash bin isn’t located nearby. - Single button operation. - Kompressor bin compression feature. - Extra battery in standby and charging. - Clean, minimal stand design that hides attachments. - Telescoping stick with smooth operation. Cons: - Suction not super powerful, but quiet. - Takes more effort to push forward on modern, textured carpet. - Stick must be collapsed every time for docking. - Included power brush bar seems too stiff for LVT floors. - Canister aligned with hose, slightly awkward/unbalanced. - Animal fur will likely fill the tower bag quickly.

Great features and integrated storage
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good stick vac. the storage tower that self empties the canister is the winning feature. Worth the extra cost. Comes with attachments I actually use. Extra battery with onboard charging gives me more than enough runtime to vac my lower rec level of about 1400 sq ft and a large sectional needing constant hair clearing because of 2 cats. The vac for upstairs is another brand and works well but I avoid it and the dusty mess it makes when emptying the canister

The charge does not last very long on the highest power setting. However, it’s easy to use and not heavy, which encourages quick cleanups here and there.

Add LED lights!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love everything about this vacuum and want to give it 5 stars but the fact that they didn’t add LED lights on the vacuum head will always bewilder me. Every stick vacuum should have them. This vacuum is great but I have NO idea what I am missing because I can’t see anything without lights on the front. Any and every vacuum should have LED lights, regardless.

Average vacuum with an excellent docking station
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I struggled with how to review this product because for me this is actually 2 products. The cordless vacuum and the well-designed docking station. Let’s start with the vacuum. I have a number of well-known cordless vacuums that range in price from $300 to $700 so I have a good point of reference when it comes to vacuum cleaners. The LG is an attractive vacuum that performs fairly well. It can be connected to their LG ThinQ app. I first attempted to connect to the app in the bedroom where I have the vacuum but found it was too far away from the router to connect so I moved it to my office and it quickly connected. The app can show you usage data as well as allow you to start the emptying function. The app will also alert you when the vacuum is fully charged when connected to the docking station and can run diagnostics to let you know if there are any issues with the vacuum. The vacuum comes with 2 batteries that can be charged through the docking station. Battery charging time is fairly quick and the battery lasts fairly long as long as you don’t use the vacuum in turbo mode for any length of time. The vacuum was easy to assemble. The wand is adjustable and must be in the shortest position in order to insert into the docking station. It has a decent size dust bin that can be emptied either in the docking station or into a trash can. It also has a slide that allows you to condense down the dirt so you can use less space in the collection bag in the docking station. Performance wise the vacuum does a reasonably good job of cleaning carpet and hard floors. The brush head only has a small wheel on the bottom of the back of the head and 2 smaller wheels on the front. This configuration does not make for a very comfortable feel when trying to maneuver the brush head on carpet. It feels stiff. The vacuum has 3 levels of suction including turbo mode and a single on/off switch on the handle so you don’t have to constantly hold down a trigger to keep the vacuum operating. This is a nice feature. The vacuum comes with 3 attachments including a dusting brush, small powered brush head and crevice tool all of which can be stored in the docking station. The one feature that I have grown a custom to is lights on the brush head. To me this is a major fail on LG’s part to not include. If I were only reviewing the vacuum, I would give it a 3 as there are in my opinion better $400 vacuums available that offer more features and better and easier cleaning. As for the docking station. This feature is awesome. When I first got the product delivered, I immediately noticed how heavy the package was. Far heavier than the vacuum itself. There was not much assembly required for the docking station other than setting it on its base and installing 4 rubber feet on the bottom of the base for stability. There is an opening on the front of the station for inserting the vacuum and 2 side doors that open to store the tools and give access to the collection bag and filters. There is a digital readout on top of the unit that lets you know the second battery is charging, allows you to set the station to automatically empty the vacuum when inserted or manually start this function and lets you know when it is in empty mode. There is also an indicator to let you know when to change the filter. When you insert the vacuum, a melody plays to let you know it is going in to the empty mode and starts. It sounds like a high-powered vacuum when it is emptying the vacuum and then plays a melody to let you know it is finished. This feature is awesome and it really works very well. My dust bin has been completely clean when this function is completed. There is a replaceable dust bag and the unit comes with 3 additional bags when you need to replace them. Both the vacuum and the docking station do a great job at filtering the air and the various filters can be washed and reused. The rating I would give the docking station if a solid 5 for its appearance and functionality. I am rating the combination as a 4 due to the lesser performance and features of the vacuum itself. If you really have to have a self-emptying system and are willing to pay the price then this is a nice product. If vacuum performance is at the top of your list than consider other vacuum only options. This is a decent $400 vacuum with an excellent $400 self-emptying docking station. I would only recommend this LG vacuum if self-emptying is a priority.

Great Vacuum Cleaner but the App is Broken
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review was a little tough because I wanted to review just the vacuum cleaner itself, but it is marketed as being a wi-fi product that interfaces with its own LG ThinQ app, so the fact that I cannot get the LG ThinQ app to work at all is a source of frustration that reduced my review from 5 to 4 stars. As far as the vacuum cleaner itself is concerned, it is very lightweight (compared to a couple cordless vacuum cleaners that I already have) and seems to have very good suction. Another really nice thing is that the vacuum cleaner does a very good job with bare floors. With some other vacuum cleaners, the rollers will "kick out" particles and dirt before it is actually sucked up, which means going back-and-forth with the vacuum cleaner until the debris is actually picked up. That is not a problem with this vacuum cleaner. I wasn't sure how I would feel about it at first, but I really like the stand that it comes with. Other cordless vacuum cleaners require some type of wall mounting or the cord just dangles from the wall to the vacuum cleaner when charging. In this unit, everything is self-contained within the cabinet, making it look much nicer. I had to hide my other cordless vacuum cleaners in closets because they are unsightly when stored (and when charging). This unit sits right in the room in which I use it the most and actually looks pretty good. Another really nice thing about the cabinet is that it has doors on both sides that are used for storing the accessories. No more having to hide the accessories in a cabinet (or losing them as a result). Very well implemented! Kudos on that design! Another really cool thing that I did not even realize was a feature is that the vacuum cleaner itself empties itself when docked in the storage/charging station and is collected in a bag with in the storage/charging unit itself. The bag is not huge, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes to fill up. The vacuum can be manually "dumped" before putting it back in the storage/charging station, though, which can minimize the number of times the bag in the storage/charging station needs to be replaced. The unit is shipped with two batteries, which is awesome. Furthermore, the storage/charging station accommodates and charges both batteries (one on its own and the other while it is inside the vacuum cleaner itself). I have no idea how long the battery lasts on its own during use as I have never come close to fully discharging it while vacuuming before plugging it back in to the storage/charging station. The main attachment (rigid tube with the cleaning head attached) was designed to adjust to different lengths, which is really nice as I am rather tall, yet my wife is not. I fully extend the tube and she keeps it shorter. Having used other cordless vacuum cleaners with a tube that is a fixed length, I cannot state how nice this is. Lastly, this is indeed a vacuum cleaner and all those features would be useless if the vacuum cleaner is ineffective and vacuuming. In this regard, I am very happy as well. While I pretty much always switch the unit over to "turbo" mode to increase suction power (I have never even come close to draining the battery while vacuuming my house, so it almost seems like that should be a default setting), the amount of dirt, pet hair, etc. picked up by the vacuum cleaner rivals that of my plug-in vacuum cleaner. The unit also includes a pet attachment that has a rubber roller that can be easily removed to clean. Again, the only thing that I found very annoying was that I have yet to be able to get the LG ThinQ application to work on my iPhone. I downloaded the app, installed it, and whenever I go to login using my LG username and password, the login information is deleted and it just sits at the login screen. (Sometimes I receive the error "oauth: signature fail", whatever that means.) Despite numerous attempts to uninstall and reinstall the app, along with trying different methods to login (besides using my LG information), I have yet to be able to login. Therefore, I cannot review the app and how it works with this vacuum cleaner, which is a bummer because I was looking forward to seeing the features within the app and seeing how it helps with maintenance of the unit. If the application actually worked, I would probably rate this vacuum cleaner with 5 stars. After spending time texting back-and-forth with LG technical support on the issue without any resolution, I finally gave up and have resigned myself to not being able to use the app with the unit. I suppose the app really does not matter all that much as it appears to be designed to interface with all types of LG appliance, not just the vacuum cleaner. Still... Very frustrating experience. So, in summary, the vacuum cleaner is great and the storage/charging stand really is well designed. I already have two cordless vacuum cleaners at home and this one will be replacing both of those. I am very happy with this vacuum cleaner and would recommend it to anyone, just as long as you do not plan on using the wi-fi feature in conjunction with their broken ThinQ app.

A quiet powerhouse
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first concern when getting the LG CordZero vacuum was the size of the base station. The concern was real (mostly). The base station, where you hang the vacuum to charge is rather large. Not a lot larger than a full-size vacuum to be fair. Unlike a vacuum though, you have to plug it in, it has to have a couple of inches clearance behind it and about 8 inches of clearance on each side to open the attachment doors. If that wasn't enough, they recommend for it to not be placed on carpet because it might fall over. Now I don't have any hard floors near an outlet so I've put it on my low level carpet and it's fine. Just be aware that this is not recommended. One other item of note is that wherever you place the base station it is designed to not move around a lot. The station is heavy, about 25lbs. Pick a spot and leave it there. I've opened my review with this downer information because it may be a deal-breaker for you. I have had a variety of vacuums and it seems like anything made in this century is good so I didn't know why this would be any different. Here comes the laundry list of why it's different. This is my first cordless vacuum and I have to say, I'm immediately hooked. I can go anyplace in the house without being tethered and it feels good. Once you feel the freedom of no cord, you realize this vacuum isn't loud. Other than a little high pitched shreaking noise that doesn't seem to go away, it is amazingly quiet. To be specific, I registered it at 70db. If I went to the other side of a wall it was only 55db. I could watch TV while someone else was vacuuming the house. Compare that to a cyclone type vacuum that runs about 90db. I'm free to move about and I'm not killing my ears. The next cool thing is its suction. It's like magic. It had no problem picking up everything on my carpet. I have several additional floor rugs in the carpeted and uncarpeted locations in the house. The suction is so gentle that I can run the vacuum over the carpets without them getting sucked up and bent out of shape. Yet it picks up the dirt and dust. Magic! Now we get to the reason that we got this vacuum. We are old school folks and my wife hates the dust bins in all the vacuums. Opening it up to empty means getting a trash bag, putting the device inside and letting it drain so the dust cloud stays in the bag, not the air. The base station of the LG CordZero will automatically suck the contents of the cannister into a bag. No airborne particles to worry about. It is so cool! Yes, we'll have on-going maintenance costs to keep buying bags but for us its worth it. The battery life is good if you run it in normal mode. They estimate 40 minutes or so. It comes with 2 batteries so you'll always have a backup. If you run it in Turbo mode then it will drain in about 6 minutes. I haven't had to put it in Turbo for normal vacuuming but I did have to do it to cut my hair (I have a vacuum based hair cutting device). Because of it's small size (height) , you can get underneath a bed. Something only the robot vacuums could do. Also because of its small size, it doesn't generate a lot of heat in the exhaust. The attachments that come with the unit are sufficient but I wish it included a flexible hose. The attachments are all about a foot long or so. That means you have to hold the base unit where you want to use it. The base unit is pretty small so its easy'ish to hold but it would be nicer to have a flexible hose so I could set it down while dusting and such. You can purchase the hose separately though. Speaking of attachments, that brings me to something that bothers me a lot in the base station. The doors don't open all the way, 90 degrees. They open about 70 degrees so it makes it a bit odd to get to the attachments that are stored in the base. I'm looking at the hinges and unless those doors snap open, they don't feel right. Until I see that this is true, I'm not pushing my luck and having them snap off. In the end, the LG CordZero turns out to be quite a different vacuum. The pros way outweigh cons. My cyclone cleaner may be gifted to a friend. This vacuum is light, quiet, picks up the dirt, doesn't heat the room when doing hand vacuuming, and is gentle at the same time.

Great Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned many of the big brand vacuums and this one is up to par with the rest with a few things I don’t like, I’ll get to that later. First, the box is very big however packed very nice. After unpacking, there are several guides you have to figure out which one you need to get started. Once you figure that out you’ll be ready to go once you collect all the accessories and put everything together. Not that there is much assembly but there is a bunch of extra parts and filters etc. I did hook to Wi-Fi and once I noticed both batteries were fully charged I tried it out. First thing I noticed was my kids had left some Cheerios on the hardwood and the vacuum sits to low to pick them up. I had to pick up and put the vacuum on the cereal to suck it up. I also noticed this with cat food. Moving to the carpet if you switch to turbo I felt it did as well as my upright corded vacuum. I did notice I only got about 20 minutes on one battery, you get two, on turbo. There is a slow speed which is good for dust and hair, medium is good for crumbs, and turbo to get the carpet clean. Besides the beater bar not being tall enough to roll over bigger items the suction is on par with other high priced vacuums. The charger / auto empty bin is (in my opinion) a waste. It costs more money, it cleans out your vacuum, it’s big, and you have to change out the bags. To me, emptying out the bin is very easy so the auto emptying bin is not needed. Overall, the vacuum is great but I wouldn’t pay for the fancy stand. I give it 4 stars for the suction and build but deduct for the stand, height of the beater bar, and price.

Great Dyson high end alternative
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG Cord Zero line has been an impressive set of vacuums that LG has introduced and improved upon since it's induction. LG has a wide array of stick vacuum that fits your liking. This one is model is for its ability to semi self-clean and empty itself which could be rather useful if you're vacuuming often and want an empty and ready to vacuum. One of the greatest selling points of this LG stick vacuum is the fact that it can be a part of or the centerpiece of the room with its sleek docking station hiding the battery charger and accessories inside. With minimal noise when the self-emptying occurs, it'll definitely be a talking point among visitors and will look amazing in the room. Performance on hard wood floors and low-profile carpet and rugs has been very impressive but seems to perform a bit lower on high profile carpets. Luckily, I only have one high profile rug, I guess. Battery life has been as good as advertised and it's very comfortable to hold while using as well. My only ripe about this model is the fact that you'll have to buy the tower bags often if you're a heavy user and they're not exactly cheap for a expensive stick vac. All in all, this is a very stylish stick vac with a lot to offer, but it is not a cheap one to own. Thanks.

Convenient and Versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG - CordZero Cordless Stick Vacuum with Auto Empty and Kompressor - Sand Beige is a very convenient cordless stick vacuum system with an auto empty function. When fully charged, the system lasts long enough to clean my entire house which is approximately 2000 square feet. Two batteries are included. The auto empty function works as designed and is a great convenience. The vacuum works on both hardwood floors and on rugs but I found that it performed better on my rugs, especially the stairs. Stairs and furniture can be cleaned by simply detaching the hand vacuum. The vacuum also comes with an app that allows you to see the charging status, vacuum history, and other useful information. Although the cordless vacuum is typical of LG's great quality and has better suction power than other battery vacuums, such as the Dyson, that I have used, I would probably recommend it as a supplement to a full powered vacuum for an entire home. Yes, it is convenient and well made, but it does not quite have the suction power required for difficult areas. I didn’t get a chance to try it, but the vacuum comes with a Power Mop attachment for hard floors that doesn’t require harmful chemicals. Simply fill the reservoir with water, snap on the attachment and start mopping.

Portable, Powerful, Smart, But Not Perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me get the elephant in the room out there first: the charging/unloading dock is massive! You will not tuck this onto the side of a wall somewhere and have it go unnoticed. However, it is black and smooth, and can be put into a corner (assuming you have a power outlet close by) and if there's other furniture or decor around it can be minimized. I put it next to a tv stand and it kind of looks like a speaker so isn't glaringly different. The Wi-Fi connection is through the base/tower as well. The vacuum itself is very nice. It has good suction, runs on batteries so no unwieldy cable, and breaks down into several configurations that are very useful. It has a full length mode with the telescoping portion extended to comfortably use while standing (like a traditional vacuum). The head can be pulled off to use on corners and baseboards. The telescoping portion can be retracted to do furniture or similar height cleaning and it can be completely removed to get into cupboards, stairs, and the like. The suction remains constant through all those modes. We particularly like it for area rugs, baseboards, and our carpeted stairs. So much easier than pulling a traditional vacuum around and works just as well. The convenience of it all even has us pulling it out more often even for small jobs. It comes with 2 batteries and the tower holds the spare battery while the primary is in the vacuum itself. It'll continuously charge the spare and will charge the primary while the vacuum is docked. Incredibly well thought out and always leaves you with power - a big pet peeve of mine with battery devices. When you dock the vacuum, it will run through a sequence that clears out the vacuum bin and puts it into the tower. How long you get between emptying the tower will depend on use obviously, but we've had it for several weeks with daily usage and haven't emptied the tower yet. The tower is also Wi-Fi connected and goes to the LG app we have for other LG products so there was no need to install something new, which was nice. However, there's not a lot of use (to me anyway) for Wi-Fi on a vacuum. It tells you when it's charging, emptying, charged, etc, but really it just does everything automatically so I don't pay much attention to it. One other note is it is pretty quiet for a vacuum. We've kind of become accustomed to appliances getting quieter with technology, but it's still worth mentioning because it is better than a traditional vacuum in that regard as well. Overall, it's incredibly handy and useful, full portable and has enough power to do everyday cleaning or to suck up a little mess. It's quiet and light making it more likely you'll use it on a whim instead of needing a specific reason. The self-unloading tower is great so you don't have to empty the local bin manually. The tower is sleek and smooth in an effort to try to blend it into the decor, but it is still huge and limited in position by it's power needs. An offset to the negative of the size of the tower is that they encompassed as much as possible into it: charging of the vacuum and spare battery, storage of the vacuum itself, and WiFi connectivity. All in all, it's an impressive piece of machinery that is incredible useful to have in the house.
