This E-Scooter is a great little commuter to go around town. This scooter has the best led headlights and taillights in the market as they are super bright along with turn signals integrated into the handlebar. The app provides great information regarding your scooter and it's very easy to use. The ride is so smooth and you don't feel any bumps while riding it over bumpy roads. I recommend everyone to buy this E-Scooter.

I absolutely love this scooter. I had to buy a new one so I bought this. I got a defective piece but Best buy replaced it without question. It runs smooth and fast. And lasts for about 24 miles on a full charge. The suspension makes all the difference. Amazing

Honest Review for the KQi 300P

This is a pretty cool scooter! I like that the top speed is 20mph. I’m not one to go too fast or be crazy while riding this, but I’m happy with this maximum speed. Another thing I like is the range at 30 miles. That being said, it’s a great urban riding scooter and great for commuters looking for a change. Like someone else, I too mentioned a slight jolt upon start up. Not going to lie, it certainly spoked me the first time I turned it on. I felt like the 450W motor gave some power in the acceleration and was a smoothish ride. I haven’t really been on many electric scooters, so I can’t tell if it was smooth enough. I got really use to this though after the 3rd time riding it. So I can barely tell and even take it into consideration while accelerating to make it a smooth transition. Safety Features From my deep research, it seems that safety is a top priority with the KQi 300P. The scooter is equipped with a triple-braking system, including front and rear disc brakes and a rear electric brake, ensuring reliable stopping power. Friendly tip, it’s like a bicycle so make sure you figure out which hand stops the front or rear brake. The last thing you want to do is go fast and use the front wheel brake and risk going over your scooter. I tried the high-powered Halo headlight the other night and it was great! I was able to really see in front. Now, I don’t condone scooter riding at night, but it’s nice to know I can head tot he grocery store down the road from me on this and be safe. Another safety feature I like is that this includes braking lights and turn signals. I don’t know if the turning signals will be super helpful, but it’s a great feature if you’re in the street to let cars know what you intend to do. The scooter’s design emphasizes user comfort and control. I appreciated the wider deck for my feet and body. I’m not the smallest in weight, and I felt like I had enough room. I also felt very stable on this going from slow to fast snd then fast to slow. Another cool thing is that there’s an app. The app allows riders to lock the scooter, customize speed settings, monitor ride statistics, and enable cruise control. The smart battery management system also helps extend the battery’s lifespan. Value for Money I really think this is fair price. You can always upgrade to the better model if you’re no stranger to scooters. Also if you need a little more speed. The inclusion of advanced safety features, robust performance, and user-friendly design elements make it worthwhile for those seeking a reliable and efficient electric scooter. Pros: Smooth ride Safety features Blinkers 3 brake options Good acceleration with motor Powerful top speed is 20mph Headlight Supported app and Bluetooth Battery life Wide riding base Sturdy feel Cons: Heavy Jolt in acceleration Price might deter people Battery charging Might be a hard ride for vertically challenged Final Thoughts It offers a nice blend of power, comfort, safety, and smart features making a great electric scooter option! Whether you’re commuting to work or exploring your city, the KQi 300P can be a fun, pleasure and great experience. For those in the market for an electric scooter, I highly recommended. It offers a well-rounded package that caters to a wide range of riding needs, ensuring you can ride with confidence and ease.

The NIU - KQi 300P is an amazing machine. Having tooled around on a couple of 'hard mount' scooters that rely on the tires for road compliance I can confidently state that the 300P, with its front suspension and hard tail design is an amazing step up in ride comfort & assurance. The overall build quality, out-of-the-box is solid, and the inclusion of turn signals is a great safety promoter. With this scooter, like most other Niu models, you get an adequate mechanical bell, lighting for dusk or night cruises - as well as daytime running lights - and good overall balance - in a package that is just this side of not being portable due to the weight. It does fold up easy & compact, but it is far from light weight. So be aware... Getting it all setup requires creating an account thru the Niu App and pairing with the machine. That entire process was quick & painless. Next, getting directed through a series of intro screens prepares any new owner to the safety & operational features. Nice touch Niu! The overall assembly and App configuration process is pretty easy & slick! Here's a few of the facets of the NIU - KQi 300P I don't particularly enjoy but might be able to be improved upon: The twist-grip accelerator takes some getting used to and even with some decent ride time under one's belt, that control feels a little too course for me and not smooth in commutation. The encoder inside that assembly feels like it lacks some "resolution" resulting in less-than-optimal speed control. In other words, it feels like it could be smoother through the entire range. I got used to it fairly quickly, but the position & motion of the acceleration grip-control can get a little tiring with prolonged rides and with sweaty hands, it becomes a little more xtra annoying. Not a horrible experience but it seems like an area that could be improved upon in future models. I totally understand the reasoning behind not having an entire twist-grip to control the speed but on this NIU - KQi 300P it seems a touch clunky. Now to help mitigate this issue, the App customization allows the rider to enable an automatic Cruise Control which dramatically reduces physical effort - so there's at least that. Another quirk on this scooter's App is the custom ride mode. Intuitively is seems backwards vs. the instructions. For me, enabling a Dynamic, custom config kicked the scooter into Eco mode thereby capping the max speed @ 9 MPH. This is even after I drilled down deeper into the settings and set the top speed capability to Maximum. A warning popped up about safety & whatnot, but the performance remained capped. Doesn't make sense to me. When I went back to normal mode, I was able to get this scooter buzzing at the full 20 MPH. I also wish the App had a function to allow the rider/owner to adjust the sound of the confirmation beeps. Work on that Niu! It doesn't need to be as loud as it is in its defined unchangeable mode. I always scrutinize these App-based products and it boggles my mind why so many electronic 'toys' have such cumbersome Apps that present themselves as not being all that well thought through. Let's Make Apps Great Again! The regenerative brake setting is a nice touch and doesn't mess with the responsiveness of the scooter overall & the brakes feel nice & balanced, front to back. The 300P has some the best braking I've experienced. Our neighborhood and nearby apartment complex are just a bit hilly and the NIU - KQi 300P maintained constant speed in Chill mode on moderate grades, so this machine lives up to the specs nicely. The center display on the handlebar assembly is bright, clear and informative. Overall, I think the 300P is a fantastic scooter for its price-point. If it holds up for several years without prematurely requiring servicing or rebuilding under proper use conditions, I think it is a solid value and the build quality is top shelf. All personal preferences aside, I can still recommend the NIU - KQi 300P because of the feature set and the front suspension. Pros: Solid build quality Nice & wide standing platform Excellent lighting and the turn signals are easy to use & a welcomed addition Awesome and convenient cruise control function Great, balanced braking Hits top speed - per spec The E-Saver/ECO which caps the top speed to 9 MPH looks to be a real energy conservation mode for the longer outings or treks Nits Loud confirmation beeps with no way to change the volume Confusing custom/dynamic mode configuration via the App The App is laid out kind of strangely but does its job nonetheless Cons: Less than optimally smooth acceleration control that could benefit from a higher resolution internal encoder and a better design, rotating grip arrangement/configuration

Upon opening the box I found there is very little assembly required. Actually, it’s just installing six screws with the provided tool to attach the handlebar after connecting one electrical plug and it’s ready to be charged for the first ride. Once it was fully charged and the NIU e-scooter app was installed on my phone, it was a simple matter of pairing the scooter via Bluetooth. A tutorial follows to explain the controls and then you are ready to go for a ride. At first, the speed is limited to about 9 mph for the first 200 meters unless you activate it through the app. Once you’ve activated the scooter or rode it 200m, a single tap on the power button switches from e-save mode to sport mode with a maximum speed of 20 mph. Through the app you can switch between standard mode and chill mode. It feels like it accelerates a bit slower in chill mode. You can also set a maximum top speed of less than 20 mph if you’d like for less experienced riders. You can select how much regenerative braking you’d like, the higher you set that the quicker the scooter will slow when you roll off the throttle. I was initially concerned that there was no key switch to power off the scooter to deter theft but I found that through the app you can lock the scooter so if anyone attempts to power it up, it will start beeping loudly and flash the lights. I think between that and buying a cable lock to secure it to a bike rack it should stay put. It’s fairly light at around 46 lbs so it could be carried off even if locked through the app so cabling it to a rack is a good idea. We did try to set it up for multiple riders but we found it only accepts one login. Not a problem, everyone just has to use the same login and multiple people can share the scooter. I was curious what would happen if one person locked the scooter through the app and another tried to unlock it and it worked fine. I was also curious what would happen if an unauthorized user downloaded the app and tried to connect so we had another person try it while the scooter was locked and they were unable to connect. They were also unable to connect with it unlocked without my login info so I feel pretty safe that unauthorized people won’t be poaching my scooter. I’d still cable lock it also though. The scooter is equipped with a front safety light and well as a taillight. There is also a headlight and they built in turn signals to the ends of the handlebars. They’re quite bright and make an audible beep when on which is good to alert pedestrians that may not hear the scooter coming up. It has a safety bell on the handlebars also. The front and rear disc brakes activate stop lights when used. Take note that the brake levers are oriented like a motorcycle not a bicycle, the brake lever on the left is the rear brake and the right lever is for the front brake, the reverse of most bicycles. They’re very capable and can easily stop the scooter. The scooter has an intrusion protection rating of IP55 so it’s protected from dust and water splash but it’s not recommended to ride in rain or splash through puddles deeper than 1”. The tires are slick like sport bike tires and the motor is powerful enough that slick roads may be dangerous. Wet weather may increase your stopping distance. Wear your safety gear and use good judgment. The scooter comes with a kickstand and with the handlebar folded down it occupies a space approximately 46” long by 21” by 21”. The frame and head tube appears to be welded aluminum (magnet doesn’t stick so I assume it’s aluminum) and the fork has suspension to help smooth the ride. The tires are pneumatic and run at 50 psi max. The fam is having fun cruising the neighborhood on this scooter!

Design-wise, I think the NIU KQi 300p is a handsome scooter. It looks both attractive and sturdy in every way. The foot deck is rubber, which I prefer over some commuter scooters because it is easier to clean. The battery is under the foot deck. Most importantly, the charge port is atop the foot deck, which I prefer. This not only helps with access but also with waterproofing. The lighting features of the scooter are very nice. The daytime running headlight is very nice with a halo appearance that apparently is characteristic of NIU. It's bright and unique. When the headlight is actually turned on, it is fairly bright. One nice thing about the headlight is that it is not in a fixed position, so you can adjust it higher or lower to illuminate the road ahead to your liking. There are amber turn signals on both sides of the handlebars. Control buttons are on the right handle. They flash when activated or in a hazard/warning fashion if you double-tap one of the buttons. There is a beeping sound when activated, but you can control that from the NIU app. Lastly, the brake light at the bottom of the scooter, just above the back tire, is large and bright. It illuminates brighter when the brakes are activated, which is nice. The twist grip acceleration takes some getting used to. I'm not a fan of it, as there is little grip. I prefer scooters with a thumbknob. Regardless, the NIU KQI 300P has quite the acceleration once you unlock its full power. Front and rear disc breaks can be activated via both handlebars. One of them handles regenerative braking, which you can also control through the NIU app. I'm not really sure how I feel about this, as it's a bit distracting between the throttle and break on the right handle, but it is what it is. Despite having front suspension, the ride was rougher than I expected. It felt about as average as a typical scooter, in my opinion. I wouldn't say it's any different from other scooters that I've ridden, but it's okay. A cool little security feature lets you "lock" the scooter using the NIU app. When activated and the scooter is off, if it is moved (as in the tires detect movement), the scooter will begin to flash and make a beeping sound. Because the tires are locked, they won't really turn. While it will not prevent someone from picking the scooter up and hauling it away, it is a nice little deterrent. You will need to unlock the scooter from the app to use it again, by the way. I've mention the NIU app several times. I have to say that I am a bit impressed with it as my other scooter does not have an app. The NIU app is easy to setup and connects to your scooter via Bluetooth. It controls various features such as the name of your scooter, its last known location, KPM vs MPH, among other key features. I would say that it is an important feature to have and set up as an owner. Overall, as someone who is new or is an intermediate owner of electric scooters, the NIU KQi 300p is something worth considering. I think it looks nice, is relatively easy to carry, and has an app for supplementary features. If you want something for supreme commuting, then you probably want to spend more and have to look for more premium features.

Note: need to charge 100% out of box.battery first start safety feature. Wont let you do a first start without charging If it dosent turn on "ITS NOT BROKEN YET. Before screwing in handle bar ; make sure the cable; theres a tucked cable inside the tube needs to be plugged in before connecting handle bar to the shaft . This is not noted in instructions . Niu brand lives up to its expectations and this scooter is a great build quality. Other options if this seems premium would be niu kqi3 pro or kqi3 max but the suspension in this does payoff. Don’t get tempted by lesser expensive scooters from other manufacturers out there as either with warranty or build it is not the same and anyone looking for long term should choose NIU.

I’ve put about 65mi on it so far. I’m 5’6 and got this so that I can scoot around with my 13 yr old, I cycle but my knees sometimes need a break and this is a fun way to spend time with my daughter while letting my knees take a break and still enjoy the outdoors. It’s a lot of fun even for a 49 yr old. Take your time to familiarize yourself with the acceleration, braking and turning/corning. Just like driving, make sure you reduce speed for a safe smooth turn. It maxes out at 20mph, cruise control works well and brakes smooth. Small bumps jostling your grip a bit but once you adjust your grip to counter that, it’s a fun ride. My 13 yr old has tried it (mine is faster than hers) but she handles mine just fine. So far I don’t regret this purchase at all. To maintain the quality of the scooter charge thoughtfully and follow the charging recommendations and be mindful of temperature and humidity for storing purposes.
