    I had purchased this to upgrade from my older pioneer deck. I was pretty confident about my purchase and when I got it I had it installed. Shortly after the deck started to experience Bluetooth loss. The same effect when you get too far from your Bluetooth speaker. Happened several times after and I decided to invest in a different brand. I purchased the Kenwood deck from Best Buy last month and I enjoy it. Thank you.

    Worked for a few weeks. Disconnects all the time, goes to a black screen and then a white screen with colored vertical lines. Disconnects from my battery overnight. I was warned by the Best Buy installer of the problems and didn't listen. Not even the regular radio will stay on.

    Got this unit after my factory head unit began to fail. Wanted something with CarPlay that wasn't going to destroy my wallet. Install was fairly straight forward. Touch screen was very responsive and worked well at first. Wired CarPlay and Android Auto only (not the end of the world), this head unit was showing promise.....until recently. Bluetooth connectivity is fine. Microphone that comes with this stereo isn't worth the time to install. Unfortunately, this unit only worked properly for a little over a year. The past 6 months of owning it have been hit or miss whether or not I'm going to get the white screen of death or a functional stereo. The volume buttons are touch screen, non haptic style. So it's easy to miss the buttons sometimes for volume adjust. The radio presets are finicky and easy to accidentally reset to factory. Most recently, the radio will briefly work as soon as I turn my car on, but simple tasks like adjusting the volume too quickly causes the screen/entire radio to die. I paid $375 for this head unit and now I'm seeing the quality that this amount of money buys. The only reason I'm rating this as fair is because it lasted for a year before dying.

    Salesman did not know much about it, bought it because it carplay. Unfortunately, I have sxm radio and was told it would be the same and it was not. Have to have carplay in order to use when before I could get it through antenna. Install was fine however they duped and left all my stuff on the floor they had to move. Disappointing for the$$

      I am sorry to hear you are not happy with the DMH-1770NEX.
      This model cannot work with the factory SiriusXM tuner. You would need to get the SXV300 tuner from SiriusXM. Or, as you did, use their application through Apple CarPlay. PUSATechAnswers

    It was a good radio for the most part of a year after purchase, then screen started to randomly be stuck in a white screen and there would be no audio or touch function to the screen, radio would need to be reseted (button on top left corner) for it to work again, eventually it stopped working completely, came to found out this was a common manufacturer issue with this radio sucks to suck should’ve done my research first.

    I like it. Nice sounds. I love the mic on the stereo. You can "text" with your voice. Nice EQ setting. What I don't like about it is you have to plug in your phone every time. It is Sirius XM ready, but if you have to listen to the music, you have to play it thru your phone. You I recommend this product, no I would not.

      For Wireless Android Auto or Wireless Apple CarPlay, you might consider the DMH-W3000NEX.
      The DMH-1770NEX is SiriusXM Ready. If you purchase their SXV300 tuner, you can select SiriusXM as a source, without connecting your phone. PUSATechAnswers

    Hopefully the 2nd stereo isn't an issue. 1st went out in 2 years I was glad I had geek squad protection. Getting the runaround from The geek squad guys with the car stereo isn't helping matter.... I rebought the pioneer in-dash stereo and was told they had a problem in the early 2000s but after 2024 they fixed it. So I'm just awaiting my reinstall coming up soon.... Hard to get an appointment and having a couple issues hopefully they work out smoothly.

    Purchased Head unit for my Prius, for the first 7 months it was excellent, Then, closer towards the 9 th month the Android auto GPS started to flicker on and off while driving. A repair was needed and the cost to remove the unit from the car was 3X more than just purchasing an after market GPS unit.

    The receiver worked fine for a year and a half. There were times when the system had to be reset. Around a year and a half to two years in and the screen is completely white and will not work.

    Bad product that only passes because of AA/Carplay

    The Pioneer 1700/1770 will be the downfall of Pioneer as a car audio brand. The failure rate is extremely high. Sadly, this is the new Pioneer after they got bought out by private equity in 2019. Then after the pandemic, and their key supplier factory burned down, they were forced to redesign their units to use inferior quality components simply so they could put a product to market. It's why I no longer recommend Pioneer, although if you can get a hold of product from prior to 2019 it's still good. and USB -A in 2024? yikes, it can't even fast charge my phone in use, and of course it's wired

    It disconnects while driving this happens a lot more often when your on a call I can be in the middle of a call and it disconnects. It disconnects when the camera is in use

    I bought this radio with it being Sirius xm ready and Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay last July. I bought this radio because my Bluetooth gave out in the factory radio that was originally in the car. Seriously this past July, the radio doesn’t work including everything that’s included. I have Bluetooth for a reason so if I need to talk to someone while I drive then I can. Everything all together including the radio costs almost $700 because I had to buy the steering wheel controls, harness, etc. I am having such a hard time getting Best Buy to fix it and getting someone on the phone with geek squad to see if they can troubleshoot the radio! DONT BUY THIS RADIO! Unless you want it to give out within a year. It’s just a white screen with red lines and I can’t do anything

    This beeps loudly several times when you first turn on the car. It also changed the sound of the blinker and it is also very annoying. We have found no way to turn these sounds off or down.

      This would be an issue with the factory interface module. If you used iDatalink, look for OEM Settings in the System Menu. Here you can adjust the beep volume. PUSATechAnswers

    It was a decent radio. Radio worked for about a year and 3 months. And then stopped working. Didn’t have very good settings for tuning and what not and felt very out dated

    I want to like this, I really do. BUT there are so many bugs and cons to this. First off, the screen is not bright enough in sunlight. Second and probably the most annoying is that I have to factory reset this thing once or twice a week because it freezes and becomes unresponsive. Then all of my settings are lost! Finally, there is a weird bug with CarPlay and iMessage voice messages. I send a lot of voice messages and this makes my voice sound like I am screaming at the top of my lungs right into the mic and makes all of my messages distorted and inaudible. I have a couple weeks left before my return window close and if there isn't an update soon then this is for sure going back. I would not recommend this to anyone. Just get something else that has been around a little longer.
