Freezes Up / Sony support is terrible!

Randomly this tv freezes up and the only way to get it to respond is to unplug it. This happens every time we use the ESPN app. After a few hours…..frozen. Recently we noticed a dead pixel causing a vertical blue line down the screen. Sent tons of photos to Sony. They said it was damaged, but it was not damaged. Refused to help me and cared not that it freezes randomly on multiple apps. This is a well documented issue with this tv, but Sony don’t care! STAY AWAY!!! Wished I’d never purchased this tv.

Garbage.

Hdmi ports 3 and 4 started malfunctioning almost immediately. Doesn't matter if its a blu-ray player, xbox series x or playstation 5, ive tried six different hdmi cords in every combination possible and the results are the same. Bestbuy has been impossible to get a hold of for service. Absolute junk.

HORRIBLE.

I was told by Sony this is ‘normal’ because of how many pixels the TV has. They also stated this defect is ‘determined to be within specifications and as designed’ So only purchase this TV if you are okay with defects, bc that’s their standard.

Speakers quit, Sony replaced lesser quality TV

However, three months in and the speakers completely quit. There was no sound whatsoever. After contacting Sony customer support, a third party came to replace the motherboard. That did not fix the issue. To compound the problem, the third party damaged the side of the television housing. After many many emails and calls, Sony agreed to replace the television, supposedly with the same television. However, the replacement television picture is not quite the same quality and sharpness as the original one. Sony refuses to take this television back and refund our money.

Disappointment AND Frustration!!!

This tv does not have the anti-glare that our 95J had which was crucial for our room - a well-lit living room with 20 foot ceilings. Yes, unpopular but we did not want to buy an OLED tv, but were forced to take this tv after returning our X95J which kept freezing. Best Buy literally replaced us with a tv LOWER than the one we initially purchased. Now, we have this X90L which is continually requiring a re-boot almost daily. It freezes doing the simplest of tasks, like streaming a movie. We have to get on a ladder and unplug it! Though we have spoken with Best Buy representatives, no one has been any help. We will only buy Sony, but have been terribly disappointed after two lemons - and we miss our 95J! Sony - you can do better!

Don't buy a large TV from Best Buy!!

Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The first TV delivered had operational issues, and there was a significant mix-up with the service teams. Instead of the installation team, a delivery team was dispatched who left the TV uninstalled in the middle of my living room. After contacting Best Buy, their solution was to send another delivery team, but only a week later. Due to these complications and the lack of prompt, professional service, I have decided to return the TV and opt for a more reliable retailer. Based on my experience, I advise potential customers to be cautious when considering large TV purchases from Best Buy.

Small Icons - Sound Variations

Tried Something New…Don’t work!

VERY BAD INSTALLATION SERVICE

I ordered this TV, a stand and their set up service. The 1st delivery/install notice said they"d be here today between 7AM and 7PM, but they would call me last night with a 4-hour widow, They didn't and this A.M. only person I could contact was in a foreign country and he couldn't help. I then used their chat with agent text service. It said an agent would be with me shortly. The agent responded 14 hours later, but not with a time. The installers arrived at 6:15 tonight, but NOT with the TV. Their work order did not include my phone number and just said to put the stand on my old TV. Seriously? I waited around 11 hours for nothing. BUYER BEWARE: AVOID GEEK SQUAD OR THEIR DELIVERY SSERVICE.SERVICES.

The panel needs to be replaced and Sony does not sell the panel. Geek squad just left my house and said they’ve seen this issue often with the Sony TV’s and they don’t recommend buying them. If you purchased a Samsung or LG they do sell the panel but Sony does not.
