Sony Dropped the Ball on These SR5's
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony really dropped the ball on this one. You can barely here anything coming out of these speakers when watching a 4k movie with atmos, even on a disc player. They feel very hefty and and good quality, and they seem like they have the potential to put out some good sound but totally not worth the $600 asking price. I wouldn't waste any amount of money on a speaker that doesn't produce sound. Sony nneds to come out with a version 2.0 of this speaker so we can enjoy the full effect. I tried them for a week and returned them for a refund.

Super disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was super excited I should not have had my expectations very high. I’m very let down from the product cutting in and out very scattered, when it actually worked It sounded amazing. The problem is when you’re watching a movie and it cuts in and out at very annoying when you’re trying to focus and enjoy what you’re watching for the price should’ve been a lot better. I don’t know if there’s needs to be a patch, a new software or some type of update. I realize at the end of the day hard wiring is the best thing to do, so for now we have the sound bar with a subwoofer. Are there a 7000 and that is great it’s still as well disconnect to connect from the subwoofer, but that is a much rare occasion all I know for the price to the quality I’m very very unhappy and if they change that and they get a lot better with it I deff go back to it but for now that’s what we’re gonna stick with and if we’re gonna do a surround sound , it’s going to be all wired

Total disappointment
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had these speakers set up for a few weeks and had non stop sound issues. Every few minutes the speaker would disconnect and reconnect making the sound completely distorted. Returned and got a new pair and same thing. When they worked, they were great but just too much inconsistency with the bluetooth connection.

Bricked
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rear right speaker was unplugged by a family member and I didnt know. Battery drained. When I plugged it back in, it wont sync to the bar, wont reset, and Sony had me try everything I already tried and it's bricked (flashing green light 3 times). Sony finally told me to take it to a 3rd party local company for repair. Waste of money.

Premium price, Subpar quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked fine for a day, but then the rear right speaker wouldn't connect anymore. Good luck with the support offered and a 2 week replacement. Save yourself time and money. Don't bother with these.

$600.00 for this?!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Speakers constantly dropping in and out. When they worked, which was super rare, they were amazing, but it was far too often they didn’t and for the price, wow…I went with Sonos and have had a MUCH better experience.

barely audible sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was wanting to like them, but I could not hear anything out of them unless I had my ear directly at the speaker. The demo's gave off an incredible, audible sound; however, I could get no audible sound when watching movies. The soundbar seemed to output all the sound. I will be returning.

No Quality Control at Best Buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was supposed to be a open box subwoofer in excellent condition. However the subwoofer was DOA because whoever at Best Buy, was too lazy to plug it in to an electrical outlet to see if it actually turned on. Which it did not. Sadly I can not give zero stars.

RS5 Rear Speakers
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed the rear speakers, was able to link to the a5000 soundbar…once. Was able to optimize the speakers…once. Shut the system off over night. Lost linking on both speakers, was finally able to sync speakers, now the system will not optimize. Went through the troubleshooting, no help there. Waste of time and money.

It could have been better
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a proud perennial Sony customer. Sony made it, I purchased it and had both family and friends purchase it. However, with this unit Sony , have, alas, come up short.
