It seems to work fine , only problem I have with this unit is that it doesn’t have a lot of Bass . My speakers could be part of the problem. Definitely a great size. Fits well in stand .

Hi StephenA, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your STRDH190. While we're glad it works fine, we regret to hear you're having some low bass level issue with the speakers connected. I would recommend adjusting the bass level using the supplied remote control of the receiver.

Whether you choose to enjoy the warm sound of vinyl via the phono input, or stream music from your digital music collection, you’ve found a perfect match. Don’t forget the receiver’s A=B function lets you connect two pairs of speakers. You can easily switch between A or B or use them all together at the same time. When you factor in the low-profile design, we’re sure you’ve found the flexibility and performance you’ve been looking for! Thanks for choosing Sony. -Sam Sony_US

Paired these with a set of Sony core series 5" bookshelf speakers and the sound was fantastic. The receiver itself is sturdy, heavy, easy to set up, bluetooth pairs very well and very little delay in latency. Occasional connection hiccups. The phono amp outputs a very clean and powerful sound when hooked up to a record player. They can get plenty loud too, with not much distortion. Pure direct function sounds cleaner than normal as if by removing muddled bass or low ends. Some songs sound better with pure direct off, so it depends. Overall, great entry level receiver for music enthusiasts.

For the price, you can't beat this receiver. It has what you need for a basic 2-channel stereo system. I bought this to power a basic second system in another room. I like that it has a phono circuit and built-in Bluetooth for easy streaming from my phone. The sound quality is good, not great. The sound is somewhat flat/sterile without a lot of dynamics, and the bass/treble controls don't have much impact. To be fair though, I'm comparing it to the other high-end equipment I own. For such a low entry price, this is still a good receiver. Just don't expect audiophile quality.

Great basic amp, especially if your e using a turntable. Pairs well with a decent set of bookshelf speakers. You get great separation; however, if you desire bass, you’ll have to get a sub. Overall, a great second system or basic system for vinyl.

Plenty of power. Bluetooth picks up all around the floor it's on. It's a pity the unit doesn't also have bass and treble knobs. That's only on the remote. The biggest shame is that it doesn't have an AM radio which I would use for sports games. I'll have to buy an AM radio and send the output to the unit.

Much better than I anticipated. I ran this receiver through my tv and Bose 901 speakers which require huge power. I am under powering it with this 2 channel receiver. Nevertheless the sound is still incredible. My only wish is that this receiver had a loudness switch to hit the strong bass. It’s the best for the price and features

Overall, this is a good receiver to "get the job done". I have had a few difficulties with it, however, that have irritated me. One is that when I am connected to some bluetooth devices, there is a loud static noise when playing songs or videos. I love the bluetooth feature, so I have been using it, only to have my ears hurt from this sound at the beginning of songs. All that beings, said, this receiver does seem to produce a clear reproduction and has an easy to use remote. My Klipsch reference speakers sound great through it when I have the bass turned up a bit on the receiver. As others have mentioned, the EQ options are just bass and treble, and the bass tuning is frustrating as it seems low and when I cut bass up it starts to get muddy (tuning too much into the mids/bass).

I bought a Yamaha 100 watt reciever and was very disappointed in it's sound and output level. Gave it away and bought the Sony. Its basically the same as the Yamaha. If you just want to make noise, this is the unit for you. It is gutless until you crank it almost wide open and doesn't produce much bass at all at lower volume levels. When your almost maxed on volume the bass does somewhat come alive. Feautures work as they should and it hasnt blown up in a month of torture in my garage. It's tough replacing old school recievers because non of this new stuff measures up.

I returned his receiver because the only way to adjust treble and bass was through the remote control. Needless to say if the remote broke then it’s just a hassle. Returned it and bought the Yamaha at the same price - which by the way is pretty good. What I was looking for in a cheaper receiver.

The bass is not very good and the adjustment makes little or no difference. This Sony was a replacement for an old school Kenwood which drove my Bose speakers well with excellent bass. You get what you pay for. Not a fan of the remote either. Bass is better with vinyl but the Kenwood was way better. Probably won’t buy more Sony products.
