Wonderful wireless earbuds for gaming.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own the arctis nova pro wireless for my pc and after getting these i barely use them. Yes, the audio quality isnt as good as the nova pros but im not expecting them to be as good as those for a much lower price tag and smaller drivers. What I like the most about them is that they're lightweight and my ears dont feel fatigued after wearing them for hours. Sonar or the mobile app is the most important thing about these earbuds. You install the app on your pc or mobile device and you can create EQs as well as use premade EQs for specific games. My only issue with them is every now and then the earbuds will disconnect from the dongle for a few seconds then reconnect. I'm sure software updates will help in the future.

Worth Checking Out, Tarkov Here I Come!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I quite like these. I will be using them anytime I play Tarkov. Or just in general want something that is comfortable that I can wear for a long time and don’t want to mess up my hair. Or want some OK noise cancelling to get work done. SOUND 9/10: Sound to me is the most important part of any headset/earbud. These are incredibly sensitive to EQ where it is make or break for these guys. It comes with 100+ premade EQ’s. Which work great. You can make your own EQ but you have to do it through the Steelseries GG Desktop App and then import it in to the App. Which is cumbersome. If what I was playing had a preset EQ these sounded great. If not, it was hit or miss. I would classify them more as surgical immersive. Where I can easily tell everything apart and location over it all blending together. Which is exactly what I like. But for others comes across as a bit too clinical. I mostly tested them on Escape From Tarkov and I’ve never heard the game sound so good before. I was able to have pinpoint accuracy of where people were at, was hearing things I’ve never heard before, and weapons sounded great. Music was solid on “Movie: Immersive” mode. Where I really have no complaints. Bass isn’t as impactful as I think most are used to. More mid and treble focused. But again, could pull apart the different parts of songs, location of instruments, etc. Movies followed a similar trend. Again, “Movie: Immersive” preset. I could hear all the different parts. Bass was present and satisfying enough but wasn’t jaw dropping. Directional audio was superb. Vocals were clear making it easy to hear people. I could pull apart all the different sounds during action. And in general constantly felt quite immersed in all there categories. I do not recommend using “Volume Limited” as it dramatically changes the sound by limiting dynamics. Meaning if there is a loud explosion vs a quiet brush of leaves both will be similar in sound. Making everything sound a bit cloudy. Also, made adjustments in volume less impactful. But does help in competitive situations. TLDR: In general had great imaging (could hear how close/far a sound was), layering (pick apart a bunch of different sounds), and directional (pinpoint accuracy where a sound was coming from). Good dynamics. Fantastic for competitive gaming, great for immersion/causal gaming, music, and movies. But more surgical/clinical in sound. CONNECTION 5/10: Connection results were all over the place for me. 1. Triple pressing the right earcup will switch between Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.4 GHz mode. Appreciated. Would have preferred to see dual mode where I could get audio from both at the same time. 2. Hit and miss where sometimes both earbuds wouldn’t connect correctly making me have to put one or both back into the case for them to pair correctly. Often would hear one connect followed by 1 – 3 seconds for the second to connect. 3. Often on my iPhone 14 Pro Max they would not play, despite being connected via Bluetooth, on Bluetooth, and connected in the Steelseries App. 4. When connected to a laptop/PC via 2.4 GHz it wouldn’t always play like my iPhone but happened a lot less often. But often did require manually going into sound settings to switch them to the correct device (would not happen automatically). 5. Did have several occasions of drop outs. My environment is saturated. But clear line of site. Milage will vary here. 6. They do connect to the dongle/Bluetooth quickly when you first take them out of the case. With the exception of left/right pairing separately. Which I haven’t seen in wireless earbuds since they originally came out. 7. Latency is solid with 2.4 GHz where you can easily play games with it. Much faster than Bluetooth. Even Bluetooth didn’t have issues when watching media on Bluetooth mode. 8. 2.4 Wireless dongle can cover up other USB ports. COMFORT/CONTROLS 9/10: 1. Excellent fit and comfort. Can wear for long periods of time without any issues. Very similar to the shape/design/comfort as Jabra’s. 2. Physical buttons for control. Left earbud you have your transparency, off, and noise cancelling via single press. On the right play/pause single press, double press for skip forward, triple press for 2.4/Bluetooth mode. Quite responsive with minimal delay (maybe 200 – 500 ms). ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLING/TRANSPARENCY 7/10: 1. It’s solid. You get some passive noise isolation from them being earbuds. Then the active part helps eliminate say fan noise from a PC or air conditioner or any other similar sound which is constant. Along with lowering the overall noise floor of an environment. It isn’t the best I’ve heard and doesn’t compete with say dedicated noise cancelling earbuds. But is great for a gaming environment where you just want to focus on the game/media/music. 2. Transparency mode is similar. Solid. I can hear a lot more of what is going on around me. But isn’t to the same level as AirPods Pro. But equal to other companies that aren’t Apple. 3. Did not notice a difference in sound with it on/off. 4. Like how it announces the setting to you so you know exactly what it is. Voice sounds pretty good but still slightly robotic. CASE 8/10: 1. Is on the larger end but not terrible. Can easily fit in pocket. 2. Houses the earbuds that are held in via magnets. Along with housing the 2.4 GHz dongle. Also, magnetic shutting cover. 3. Plastic top with plastic hinge. Which feels cheap and not very satisfying to open/close. As there is a lip that you have to force past to get it to stay open. 4. USB-C Charging. 15 minute quite charge for 3 hours of gameplay. 5. Also supports qi-charging. 6. LED light on the front to notify you of stuff. Such as current battery level. 7. Comes with a nice USB-A to USB-C connector. Steelseries Phone App 10/10: 1. Used on iPhone 14 Pro Max. Basic utility that is easy to navigate. Similar to any other Steelseries software. 2. From top to bottom. Shows the earbuds, left, right, and case battery percentage left. Then you can select audio modes. What equalizer. The noise control and strength of said noise control. Microphone volume, and sidetone. Which I didn’t notice much of a difference with. And last volume limiter. 3. I has wear sense which worked alright. With about a second or two delay. 4. Do have some controls of what the buttons do (mute/unmute mic, volume down, volume up, cycle noise control, toggle audio mode, mobile voice assistant, play/pause, next tract, previous track).

Fantastic choice for Gaming Earbuds!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, I've been beyond impressed. That battery life has been decent. The weight is light enough to help keep them seated. The sound is great once you get it setup. That is the tricky part of their whole setup. It does take time to get things dialed in to your liking. I've found that the sound has a great range. The bass is adequate without being overbearing. The only issue I had was it was turning off after awhile in bluetooth mode. I found that it was simply a setting in the app, and I turned it off. Overall, I can't recommend these enough.

Decent gaming buds
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd go with 4.5 but it's not an option. Noise cancelling works well and the 2.4 mode gives pretty decent sound with very little latency. Connection seemed a little wonky at first but after doing it a few time,s no issues. Wireless charging is nice too

Good for what they are
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Portability is excellent as compared to my wireless Astro a50 headset. After a 7hr session, the Astro a50 headset does feel more comfortable as these in ear buds start to feel big in my ear canal. Overall, sound is good for what it is, not as good as the a50 headset, but worth the trade off for me to not have headset hair. Mic quality in these earbuds is poor compared to the Astro a50 and I’ve experienced sporadic mic issues and connectivity issues.

Great except 2 things
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great earbuds. I would say they are like the airpods pro gen 1 and the galaxy pro 2 for a good example in normal audiences. Its super great in every aspect except 2 things 1 is connection. For whatever reason steel series is kinda hit or miss in this the adapter they use doesnt sometimes like 10% of the time connect when getting on from a off console it connects but in a party you are hearing everone but it says connect mic. The fix is just disconnect the adapter and plug it back in. The number 2 is the mic is kinda bad. I mean its like the galaxy pro 2 mic its not bad but its like your far away from the microphone which you definitely are since this sits in your ear with no stem or blade coming out facing your mouth

I really wanted to like these GameBuds!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really really wanted to like these GameBuds. I have had a SteelSeries Arctis 9 headset for nearly 2 years and loved it. It gave out on me today sadly. I purchased these GameBuds because I really really wanted them to work and work well. Unfortunately, I will be returning them tomorrow and getting a proper headset. Like I said, I really wanted to like these earbuds. They sound amazing for earbuds and honestly if I hadn't run into the issues that I did I would have considered getting them as backup at a later date. The first issue I had was the buds didn't have separate channels like my Arctis 9 headset did. With my headset, I was able to separate chat (discord), game sound, and even other media if I decided to. This way I could change the volume levels of one without messing with the other. The buds don't have this feature. The second issue came after using them for roughly an hour and a half. The left ear randomly started losing connection. That alone makes me very hesitant to use these for gaming especially streaming. I hate having to troubleshoot on stream and if my earbuds kept losing connection I would get very frustrated very fast. Now the right one started losing connection. I AM LITERALLY SITTING NEXT TO THE WIRELESS DONGLE! Unless it's just a weird issue I was having I would consider these a waste of money (and time).

Posted .Hello Nathan - Thank you for reaching out through this platform. We are sorry to hear about the challenges with your GameBuds! In future, we suggest reaching out to the SteelSeries Support Team, who would be more than willing to help with troubleshooting your gear.
Regarding your different channels, this is something that is still possible, but through Sonar on the SteelSeries App, GG. We want to make sure that you are having a great experience with your SteelSeries device. Thanks again!

Awesome Concept
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very compact and appealing. Extended wear was uncomfortable. Sometimes to get them to connect I had to open and close the case 10 times. On discord they worked great or other times people couldnt hear me at all. Hopefully they make a second version and correct the flaws because I would try again

A great thought but terrible execution!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried these out for 2 weeks and they are terrible if you plan to use them on Xbox. Constant issues with connection. They also increase latency (ping) if you play on wifi. I ran 3 different tests to see what the issue was. The dongle broadcasts a 2.4 GHz signal right next to the Xbox which causes congestion. The mic is hit or miss. People tell me they cant hear me very well or not at all. I did hook them up to my pc to use the steel series app to adjust all the settings and nothing really improved. I searched online to see if I just had a defective pair but I saw other people saying similar things. Save your money and buy a regular Xbox headset. Maybe next version that comes out will improve.

Not Steelseries’s best product
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had/still have many Steelseries products and have been pleased with them until these ear buds. I had non stop connection issues mainly in one ear bud, even with my pc only 3 feet away. Literally every 5 minutes one bud would completely cut out for about 20 seconds until it reconnected, then rinse and repeat. It made them just unusable and i was forced to return them. I also wasn’t impressed with the sound quality overall especially from a Steelseries product.

Disappointing…
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I attempted to use these primarily for gaming on my PlayStation 5 but the microphone volume was low per my group, the audio volume was inconsistent(verified that the volume limter was off), and the earbuds would randomly disconnect. On a postitive, they are pretty nice for everyday use when they do connect.

Good Choice if Earbuds are a must
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best thing I can say about the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds is that they are gaming earbuds, which is not extremely common. The sound is good for earbuds and you get some directional audio, although this is much better with an on or over ear set of gaming headphones. These are very convenient, and are easy to carry along for a game night with friends which is a huge plus. The microphone quality is also decent, it definitely works for a casual game night. The pairing process is great using the USB C dongle, and they GameBuds connected right away. I did experience a decent amount of connection loss to one side that would only be remedied by placing the single GameBud back into the case and then putting it back in my ear. After doing this the issue would be resolved for that gaming session. Pairing this to my iPhone was no problem either, but connectivity to my Android tablet was hit or miss. The ANC on this set is mid tier, defnintely not going to match what you may be used to with a high end set of ANC headphones. The GameBuds are fairly comfortable for shorter sessions, but I did experience some decent ear fatigue after around an hour. Overall I would recommend these if you are looking for a earbud style gaming setup, but you will have shortcomings that you would not experience with an on or over ear set.

Not recommended
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want overpriced mediocre earbuds to listen to music on your phone, these are it. I've had nothing but issues and frustration trying to get these set up. First the good- Paired easily by Bluetooth to my phone (Pixel 6 Pro) Sound quality is ok, nothing special. ANC sort of works. The bad- There are no instructions or tutorials on how to use these Artis Gamebuds. Just basic generic instructions. I really wanted these to be used with my Xbox One X for gaming and had high hopes. These do not work with my Xbox. The dongle won't connect at all. The app is no help. It states there is a firmware update, that can only be done on PC. If you don't have a PC, you're out of luck. What is the point of having a phone app, if you're going to require a PC to make any updates? I downloaded SteelSeries GG on my PC, created a SteelSeries account, Earbuds wont connect. The instructions on the SteelSeries website are for headphones, not earbuds. Plugging the case into my PC, with and without the earbuds, yields no results. I can connect the earbuds to my PC via bluetooth, but the GG app still says not connected. Tried connecting to the dongle on my PC. That connection stays connected for PC audio, but the PC SteelSeries GG app Still shows nothing connected. I've tried every manner of connection, restarting, unpairing, etc without success This has been an exercise in frustration and futility, along with precious time (hours at this point) wasted. No reply to email sent to SteelSeries. Cannot recommend at this time.

High priced dissapointing item
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these earbuds from the Steelseries website, and they were already linked to my xbox series x when I plugged in the dongle to my xbox console, but after that it was a complicated process to use these gamebuds. The gamebuds don't always respond when trying to program them, along with an unresponsive connection issue with my cellphone to attempt to connect to the steelseries app. The process of wirelessly connecting to my laptop was another issue. It took me all day to find a way to connect the gamebuds back to my xbox, and the sound is either too loud or just too low, there should be an option to adjust the volume levels at a gradual level. I had to return these gamebuds even though steelseries originally didn't want to give me an option on their website to return this item for a refund. Not necessarily a bad item, but not as receptive as expected for the price they're charging along with limited onnection and volume options.
