Versatile and works like a chime
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the exciting world of racing simulators and gaming, the pursuit of realism and total immersion is unending. Precision and performance execution are paramount, and every detail carries weight in capturing the essence of the racetrack. In this context, I integrated my Thrustmaster TH8S shifter with my Logitech G923 Racing Wheel for PC, and the results were impressive. Within a matter of moments, my PC recognized the shifter plugged in via USB, and it was ready for action without the need for extensive driver searches or additional software installations. This shifter operates seamlessly via a hassle-free Plug and Play method. It's important to note that my assessment of this manual shifter is rooted in my personal experience and is not intended for direct comparison with other brands. I opted for the TH8S shifter due to its exceptional versatility and wide compatibility across various racing wheel brands. Design: The H-pattern shift plate with 7 gears in addition to reverse gear execute well and make no miss except when I first used it. It is mostly made of plastic, making me feel like this is cheap. However, it feels sturdy and has a fabric protector around the shifter lever to protect the interior mechanism from any potential debris. The shift lever is made of steel which is expected from such a well-known company for making high and premium gaming peripherals and accessories. It Has a clamp that allows it to be securely mounted to a table or racing wheel seat. Very secure and stay attached with no issue. Compatibility: Compatibility is indeed one of the key attributes that sets Thrustmaster's racing peripherals apart from other brands. Thrustmaster has designed its products to offer extensive compatibility with various gaming platforms via dual connectors. It is widely compatible with a PC via USB cable (any racing wheel), PS, and Xbox via DIN (which require the use of Thrustmaster-brand racing wheels). Functionality and execution: One of the distinguished features of the Thrustmaster shifter is its ability to adjust the shifter resistance, which allows me to fine-tune the gear lever's resistance feel to suit my preference. I’m blessed with it and it complements my racing rig. It is durable and sturdy despite being made mostly of plastic. For a price point, it sets it as a great competitor!!!!

Great shift stick for your simulator!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've submitted photos that I currently run the Logitech G923 wheel paired with the Logitech Driving Force Shifter. I play Forza 5, and Assetto Corsa. This does run on your consoles, but I play on my ultrawide monitor pc monitor. Just for context. Installation , same as the logitech, clamp clamp, fine, not a big deal. Works as intended. It is slightly different than the Logitech, not better, not worse. Some reviewers felt it was more loose when compared to Logitech, I have tried various iterations and I could not reproduce the same result. It was very sturdy and reliable. Any racing fan will know there is actually an older brother shifter from Thrustmaster, more for the core sim fans. This product is more for the casual sim fan and is a direct competitor to the Logitech shifter, which I have sitting right next to the Thrustmaster stick. Similar price range, similar build quality, so it comes down to how the stick feels and compatibility. Set up is easy. As anyone who plays racing sims, the dread comes from running the wires, and drivers setting up, and hoping things are compatible and run smoothly without stutters or glitches/mismapped buttons etc. Being a new product, I was a little worried the software/compatibility would be a problem, but as you can see from the pictures my game fired up perfectly fine, all gears were correctly assigned, responsive, tight, no drift. No issues in both games I play, compatibility, check. Works with the clutch from the G923. Check check check. Finally the feel, the simulation. I felt like it was definitely a different feel when compared to the logitech. The logitech clicks, while thrustmaster drifts to neutral. It's alot smoother, which some people like, some people don't. For everyday drivers that like to "wiggle" to neutral check, this does it naturally, unlike the Logitech. The logitech is more sim-like short stick without that same wiggle for the neutral check. Otherwise, everything else, getting into the right gears felt very smooth, very clean. I think it runs neck and neck with the competitor, but I found myself coming back to the Thrustmaster more now that I've been playing with it for over a week. It felt a little more natural, a little more "street racing", and less "grand prix" racing, which is all I want in a video game. Highly recommended!

Great Shifter Add-On!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TH8S Shifter Add-on is a great addition to my racing wheel. It works with my wheel on two major gaming consoles and my PC. Setup is pretty easy too. There are two different ways to set this up. One way is to connect it from the shifter to the PC. The other way is to connect it from the shifter to the wheel. I will say that I had more success connecting to my PC from the shifter than anything. Once it was installed and hooked up, the fun began. I his shifter is like driving for real. The racing games that I play are both racetrack racing games and off road racing games and events. It’s so much fun and way more realistic than just using a controller, keyboard or wheel. This combination of wheel and shifter is the best way to race in gaming. It has 7 speeds and reverse. It’s frictionless and its very responsive. It’s a sports style like knob. It all makes your gaming experience better and comfortable. This shifter hooks onto the table or desk, and is very sturdy. It didn’t come loose at all, until I took it off.

Homerun Swing
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is plastic. Plastic as plastic. However Thrustmaster hit a homerun with. This thing is durable and well made. It may be plastic but it can take a beating. Feels great and responds well. I use it a lot and it still looks and operates like new. DO NOT expect to mount this to your sim rig unless you plan on using a clamp. Great product.

Fun addition to racing games
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many others, during the lockdown I took up sim racing as a way to trick myself into thinking I was getting out of the house. As part of this new hobby I picked up a Logitech racing wheel with pedals which has served me well. But let's face it - as efficient as they are, the flappy paddle gear shifters lack something compared to the more traditional stick shifter. So when the opportunity to add this to my rig came along, I was more than happy to try it out. In my experience, Thrustmaster has always been the brand to go to for unassuming but very durable flight sticks. I'd never tried any of their driving accessories before though, and when I first took the shifter out of the box I'll admit I was a little worried. When you play in VR it's very easy to get caught up in the moment - which is why it's very important that any sim hardware be built to be able to take all of the abuse the real thing might in case someone uses more force than they really should. And I'll admit that my first impression was not great. Pretty much all the visible parts save for the stalk itself are plastic, and only a single screw clamp was provided for mounting. It was also very lightweight compared to the wheel and pedals I had, making me wonder how long it could possibly stand up to abuse. But after spending a few days with it, I've realized these fears were unfounded. While the case may be plastic there's a very solid frame underneath it, and it is very satisfyingly tactile as you slam the shifter home in each gear as you move through the progression. Thrustmaster has clearly done what they always do and invested everything into making the internals as reliable as possible. What's more setup worked great with no effort at all from me. Since I wasn't pairing it with a Thrustmaster wheel I simply attached the provided USB cable to use it as a standard input device and it was immediately recognized and configured in two of the three racing games I tried it out on. The fact that you don't have to pair it with another Thrustmaster device is a huge plus IMO, and something other companies should be learning from. There are, however, a few downsides that should be mentioned. The biggest is the mounting solution. If you have a racing stand with a dedicated tray for you to permanently mount your shifter, you are going to be out of luck here. For some reason they did not include any mounting lugs, meaning you're stuck with the screw clamp and rubber friction pads to keep it in place on your stand or desk. Admittedly this does work well enough - I didn't have any issues with it sliding around once I got it clamped down, but rubber pads do eventually wear down and need to be replaced. Bolts really don't. And it's also hard to beat the cleaner look of a permanent mount. It would have been very nice to at least have the option.

Good Value Shifter and Versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary ------- A good value shifter for use with a variety of devices - PC, PS5, XBOX etc. The shifter can be attached to a table for grip and works pretty good. The plastic feels a little cheap but it is a functional shifter and a good one for the price Pros ---- 1. Cheaper than many other shifters in market 2. Supports type c and DIN , which means it can be compatible with many devices 3. Can be adjusted for tightness of shifting Cons ---- 1. feels a bit cheap 2. Would have preferred a better knob Ful Review ---------- basically this shifter is a plug and play. THe shifter knob can be replaced by popping the cap on top and unscrewing the knob but for this price i really wont bother doing anything like that. I played with GT7 , and works only with cars with a stick shifter. There are 7 gears and a reverse. Overall i found the shifter to be very responsive. I used this by connecting this shifter to my wheelbase and the combination works perfectly You can also use the USB type c connector to connect to a PC which iw as not able to test. Overall i think its a great purchase for the price

Great budget friendly shifter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those who enjoy racing simulation, and are in need of a shifter for your gaming rig, look no further. The TH8S shifter is a great budget friendly shifter. Thrustmaster products have been around the racing simulator world for some time now. I’ve been using their gaming products for a while, and they never disappoint. The TH8S shifter has worked flawlessly with my computer and PS5. From looks to function, the TH8S has been great. I love the gated shifter design and feel. It reminds me of a Ferrari, especially with the black and red color. The shifter feels great around my hand and has been very responsive thought game play. I’ve paired it with Thrustmaster’s very own T300 RA steering wheel and pedal combination and they’ve been working flawlessly together. The TH8S shifter really compliments my racing simulator setup and makes the game/driving experience so much better. For the price, the Thrustmaster TH8S shifter is really hard to beat. The quality and feel are great. The responsiveness is very impressive. I would highly review it.
