Flawless
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely gorgeous keyboard the overall build is the best you could get for the price as opposed to some Logitech keyboards that cost a lot more. A few key features of the roccat vulcan is the size, aluminum frame, detachable USB C cable, low profile keys, and how comfortable the keys are in addition to the responsiveness of the keys while gaming. There's plenty of space for mouse movement as opposed to using the full sized keyboard. It's got volume control with a mute button plus a few RGB features without having to use any software and also a lot of shortcut functions like disabling the windows key while gaming. The only downside to this keyboard is that it doesn't have macros keys. Overall this is a good keyboard and it would look incredibly appealing on any desk, it's a gem.

Best Keyboard I’ve Owned
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Light weight, ergonomic, and sturdily built keyboard. USB-A to USB-C is a nice feature. Love the RGB customization options, you can make some pretty sick lighting designs. Would buy again.

Colorful customization
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm in love with this keyboard, it's smaller yes, but I dig that, it has raised keys and is super responsive, plus the added knob for turning volume up and down is great! I also love that it's easy to take with me being it has a detachable usb cable , the customization is amazing when you download roccats drivers, as you can see in the pictures! All in all I highly recommend this keyboard!

A Good Purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am pleased with the Roccat Vulcan TKL compact PC Gaming Keyboard. This KB is well build, and heavy enough to stay in place. Most of all, the keys are spaced well and concave to allow accurate placement. I do not miss the number keypad, however, if you work with numbers, you may want a bigger KB.

A best in class compact, mechanical keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This keyboard represents one of the better gaming keyboards in this form factor on the market right now. For a compact, high quality, excellent performing keyboard, you cannot go wrong with this keyboard. Here are the pros and cons of my experience thus far. Pros: -The keys themselves, as red linear switches, are absolutely stunning in their feel, look, and function. They have low profile keycaps that seem to curve inward--cradling your fingertips with every key stroke. Roccat claims that these have some sort of reinforcement in them to reduce side-to-side play and I can absolutely attest to that being true. I have had no less than 4 red linear switch mechanical keyboards, and these keys are the first among them to feel this strong and resistant to side to side play. -Low profile, compact footprint. If you are looking for a small, easily portable keyboard for competitive gameplay or precise typing on the go, this is an amazing option. It is so low profile in fact, that even with my bad wrists, I do not feel that a wrist rest is necessitated to type with this for extended periods of time. The fact that it is detachable from its USB-C cord too makes it easy to clear space off my desk if I need it, which leads us into the next pro…: -It is compatible with any USB-C cord!!! I tested this, and the keyboard worked with any USB-C to USB-A cable I had. That means, that if you are running a clean home desktop setup and you don’t want to be unplugging your cords from the computer itself all the time, you can leave the cord plugged in to the desktop and easily pack up this keyboard with any other USB-C cord that is compatible with the device you want to hook it up to. I am half-tempted to take this keyboard between work and home as it is so much nicer to type on than the awful membrane keyboards there. With how easy this is to plug and unplug, that is a distinct possibility! -The AIMO lighting option is super cool. I actually don’t even know where to begin to explain it better than Roccat’s website can, but I am really enjoying it as part of my rainbow vomit computing setup! For the other lighting options though, I have explored the Roccat Swarm lighting software, and I cannot seem to find any evidence that this has individual RGB programming for each key. It seems to be relegated to pre-programmed lighting zones. This is not a huge deal to me, but something that I want others to be aware of. -High quality materials. Roccat cut no corners here. The brushed aluminum top of this keyboard is gorgeous. The plastics of the keyboard are not flimsy at all and are a silky, matte finish--befitting a more grown up gaming keyboard. The hinges of the feet of the keyboard are firm and snappy, something I noticed when I first messed with them. All in all, the build quality of this keyboard is outstanding. -Unlike some manufacturers, I appreciate the placement ROCCAT chose to put some of the FN secondary options on various keys. For example, on this truncated keyboard, I find that I appreciated the choice of turning the Windows shortcut key on the left into an FN key, making it easier with my natural typing position to navigate some of the FN media keys. This was done by the way by selecting FN and END together. Cons: -Only the most sensitive ears will notice (the same ones that noticed the mosquito ring tone back in like 2005-2008 that all the kids would play during classes), but there is a very high pitched low-buzzing noise that my specific keyboard is emitting, similar to coil whine. I have tested it, and the source seems to be from the LED lighting of the keyboard. When I turn off the LED lighting, the noise disappears. The brighter the LED lighting, the louder it is. I was able to get down the brightness to a certain level where the noise was no longer emitting. This could be unique to my unit and I am sure that if it is something that bothered me enough, Roccat would stand behind there warranty and replace it. Frankly, I do not think most people will notice this and the issue is eliminated altogether with a headset while computing or gaming. -The space bar on my unit does have a distinct metallic ping on the rebound from its pressed in position. This may reduce with break-in time, but it is worth mentioning. Overall, pros and cons placed into consideration. I will give this keyboard a huge thumbs up. I am thrilled to have it as part of my gaming arsenal, and it is further evidence that Roccat knows what they are doing in the gaming industry!

Such an eyepiece for the man cave!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The pictures online just don't do the ROCCAT keyboard any justice --- this item is simply stunning in person. The options on this piece of machinery just make it really a full-on smart keyboard which will make a more than perfect must-have addition to your gaming setup. Here are some basic pros and cons: PROS - It has a volume control on the keyboard itself so it doesn't interrupt the game flow - The material doesn't feel cheap; has a slightly brushed aluminum top with a smooth finish --- feels solid - The AIMO lighting option is amazing!! Serious eye candy!! - Easily compatible with USB-C to make for a smooth, clean inclusion in your existing gaming setup - The keys are intentionally built to complement the game play setup; this is obviously noticeable against my other gaming keyboard Cons: - The keyboard did seem to get a bit warm after a while of game play; I understand that it is doing a lot, but my other keyboard didn't get as warm as fast. All in all, this keyboard is a MUST HAVE for your gaming arsenal --- even if just to impress company or film a cool gaming video online!

Premium Feel, Compact, Well Thought out Design
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've tested a lot of keyboards in the last year and I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for mechanical keyboards. In my opinion they're the best keyboards for gaming and typing. This week I tested the new ROCCAT Vulcan TKL wired mechanical keyboard. Out of the box I could immediately tell this keyboard was well thought out. The top of the keyboard base has a nice brushed aluminum plate with polished edges. The switches are exposed and have thin keycaps, which allow for maximum lighting beneath them. There are media controls which allow me to quickly adjust volume or mute my computer and best of all there is no number pad or extra extra media keys. This is especially nice because it keeps the keyboard size compact. While using this keyboard to game the keyboard was very responsive. One thing I liked about it was the feel of the keys. I noticed that I didn't have to bottom out the keys to get a response. a half press would register as key press. Another thing I liked was that the lighting profiles are static. Other keyboards would lose their lighting profiles as soon as the software was shut down. Which brings me to the topic of software. This keyboard uses a software called Swarm to control lighting profiles, remap keys and load custom gaming profiles. The Swarm software was easy to install, easy to use and worked well with other ROCCAT products. Overall in my opinion, this is a good keyboard that will fit most people's needs for work and play and it has my recommendation.

Solid build, great for gaming, good for typing
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pleasantly surprised by this board. Compared to a Razer Blackwidow, which is what I was previously using, the build quality is solid with virtually no rattle thanks largely to the excellent key stabilizers. The key caps themselves are great: large, easy to read typeface, bright RGB and the linear switches have smooth actuation. I like the RGB presets, only a couple of which were preloaded on the board - for the others you need to download Roccats Swarm software which is whatever. I don’t really care that much about super customizable rgb, I just like that some of the presets look great and are easy to change w fb+arrow keys. Again the linear switches are great for gaming, and it’s pretty quiet (more noticeable if you are coming from clicky switches like me). USB-C connectivity is great too. The only drawbacks are that they tend to show smudges/fingerprints easily, and the secondary functions are not illuminated. Another potential drawback is perhaps they are not the best for typing; I think the keys are a little smaller and I feel like I make more typos then usual. But this probably my fingers just learning the board.

Gaming Keyboard that takes you to the Next Level!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ROCCAT - ROCCAT® Vulcan TKL Compact Mechanical RGB Gaming Keyboard - Black is the new standard in gaming keyboard. Style, Class, functionality, tactile responsiveness, visually stunning yet simplistic; everything you need to take your game to the next level. Crush your opponents with the advantages you will gain with the ROCCAT Vulcan TKL! I have tested several keyboards over the past few years and I have to say this one impressed me. Definitely in my top 3 recommended gaming keyboards. I loved the sleek style this keyboard brought to my desktop. The LED backlighting is awesome, yet not too bright to distract from your game. The mechanical keys are different than the tactile keys, but exceptionally responsive, fast, and accurate. I wasn't sure I would like the know-style volume control on the physical keyboard, but found I used it often and it was quick and effective at changing volume when needed or when the sound of the game was too loud or quiet. I even tested this keyboard with a MacBook Pro for comparison with the PC and PC Laptops. Surprisingly, while specifically designed for Windows OS, it performed flawlessly, except where the "Command" key was necessary such as copy and pasting from the keyboard. I did find that you must used the provided cable or the keyboard will not respond or register with the computer (Tried an Apple Branded USB C to USB C with not luck) PROS - ROCCAT Scores big with design, style, and funcationality - Solid build using real metal giving it sturdiness and reliability for years to come - Excellent layout - Mechanical Keys boasting over 50 million keystroke life - Responsive in both Windows and Mac OS - Effortless setup, plug and play - Physical knob for volume was actually useful CONS - Not having a full keyboard with 10-key pad is a bit of a downside if you were to use this keyboard beyond gaming - Must use the provided braided USB A to USB C cable

Great Keyboard!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was really surprised by the quality of this keyboard. Really responsive and the keys have a really satisfying feel. It's well built and the brushed aluminum deck is really nice. Color is vibrant and the entire thing is really customizable. The Swarm software that allows for the customization isn't bad, but it can be a bit unintuitive. There's not much in the way of documentation on the website or within the software to explain some of the features, so you'll be searching Google, Reddit, or (more often) just playing around with it. Not really an issue, more of something to keep in mind. All around a great entry level mechanical keyboard at a really reasonable price!

Unique, great for gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Interesting keyboard and very unique look. The switches are very smooth and responsive great for gaming, pretty good for typing. This mainly a gaming keyboard, not really meant for long bouts of typing. The key caps are unique, the key caps are a bit smaller than standard key caps you find on other gaming keyboards but it took very little time for me to get used to it. For some reason they paired a wrist rest with the larger version, I only bring this up because my typing is a lot faster with a wrist rest than without. As for quality and specs the keyboard is great, however I can't really see myself fully committing to this keyboard, if they came out with a version with a tactile switch I would be all over that. The linear switches are great super smooth but even the slightest compression of the key will register an input, which is great for gaming so that you can immediate react within game, but for typing it can increase the mistakes made when typing. The key caps are the standard cherry mx stems with side stabilizers for extra stability, however I don't really see anyone using custom keycaps because A. that kind of defeats the purpose, since these key are unique already, second the space bar stabilizers along with the other keys that require stabilizers may not be compatible with other cherry mx keycaps. The contoured key caps are nice and make it easier to type given their unique shape. Cooler master and logitech have similar keyboards with the same style keycaps however they are both completely flat making it a bit harder to type and making easier to type the wrong letter. Another nice touch is that there is notch on the W key making it easy to set you fingers on the WASD position quickly. I gave this 5 stars because its great build quality unique lighting and keys and the switches are very smooth. For me personally I would give it more of a 3.5, but that might change as I spend more time with this keyboard and get used to very linear responsive switches. One of other mechanical keyboards, is a custom keyboard with holy panda switches, double shot key caps, and aluminum housing. One main reason I am switched for the time being is that with the custom keyboard typing was great but it was not the best to game with the massive weight of made it difficult to get the keyboard in that "gaming position" and the custom software for that keyboard was not the greatest, very customizable but mainly for typing, that is something I might reserve for the office rather than gaming.

Everything about this keyboard sceams Quility
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually own the Roccat TKL Pro but they are basically the same. I do more typing then gaming but got this because I love the feel and look of Mechanical Keyboards. The build of this keyboard is Solid with it's brushed aluminum finish. The key strokes are buttery smooth along with the Best RGB lighting I've ever had. I also like the mute button and volume wheel placed in the perfect spot. My only very small complaint and not enough to deduct any stars is the Swarm Software. It was a headache just to get it downloaded, And then applying the features took a very long time to figure out. But after a while you'll get the hang of it.
