It just crapped out on him. Prior to that, the sound was also not very good from the built in speakers. Do not waste your money!

The sound is solid for the price of the player. The look is perfect. Almost to perfect because I lost it in my office last week and it was sitting right in front of me. The play looks good to, but I haven't used any of my older records yet because I want to see if any groves get cut from the needle. But so far so good.

Great turntable product

I bought a Crossley brand and it lasted only a month and then no sound -- the volume went completly dead -- a complete waste of money since my warranty had expired.
