Customers are saying
Customers are pleased with the sound quality, ease of use, and the numerous HDMI inputs of the AVENTAGE RX-A2A receiver. Many also appreciate the powerful performance and relatively easy setup process. However, some users found the online manual difficult to navigate and the remote control less than ideal. The MusicCast feature and other advanced options were also highlighted as positive aspects.

Awesome update from a non-hdmi Onkyo
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound and relatively easy hook-up. Annoying pdf user manual. Bought for price for up-to-date tech and reputation for reliability. Time will tell after I figure out how to use the eARC. Also, the center knob looks good but pushes the display to the right and is hard to read from any distance. It should be larger and under the knob. Decent remote, haven't tried the mic for sound since I won't be setting up HT until we finish the basement.

Display button on remote does not display anythin.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver sounds really good and construction quality seems excellent. I personally feel the price should be $699 instead of $799. Maybe it will go on sale later this year. I do have a couple of items which concern me. After calibration, when playing movies, we noticed the center channel dialogue was low and needed to be boosted about 8 db. Second, when I pressed the display button on my old Yamaha TSR-3850 remote (same remote), the TV screen would show several screens with information about sound parameters, video, network, system etc. On the new TX-A2A the display button doesn’t do anything. Did Yamaha disabled this feature? I did go by my local Magnolia store and the salesman I spoke had no knowledge about Yamaha receivers, kept googling for information on the receiver and could not answer any questions. Sad he didn’t ask to see if any of his peers were familiar with Yamaha receivers. One last item, as others have stated, there are so many features, yet there is no information on screen about what the various features do (Sony menus show a brief description of what each option does). I fond the online manual lacked information and is poorly designed. This makes the receiver difficult to use for those without advanced technical knowledge.

Good unit. Skip the manual and hit setup on remote
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The receiver has eARC and several HDMI inputs, as well as a digital coaxial and a few analog RCA audio inputs and a phono input. HDMI control is nice because if you turn on your TV, it will turn on the receiver, and also turning on an HDMI connected device will switch to that input. The room and speakers have more influence on the sound, but for what it’s worth, this sounds good and has enough channels for Dolby Atmos/5.1 setups. The only things that frustrate me about this unit are the manual (which was pretty useless), the apps (which do not work the way they are advertised in a video I saw), and the fact that it sometimes takes a while to connect to my TCL TV, though that may not be Yamaha’s fault.

Yamaha RX-A2A Reciever
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unit is very high quality but has so many features that it can be complicated. Only reason for 4 stars instead of five is that you have to find the manual online. If you have a question, customer support takes hours if you can wait that long. Once you figure out the features, it works great.

Good unit but needs better user guide
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would rate it excellent if the online guide wasn't so poorly organize and confusing. This unit has a lot of good features and it sounds and works great, but without a decent user manual, it's hard to know wha they all do or how to use them.

Yamaha receiver
