Types of headphones.

Earphones can be split into two categories. In-ear monitors fit snuggly inside each ear canal and the majority of sports headphones fall under this category. Earbuds feature small drivers that rest on the ridge of your outer ear and usually deliver lower fidelity and isolation than other types of headphones, but they are inexpensive. Over-ear headphones, also known as "around-ear" or "full-size" headphones have cushioned earcups that enclose the ears, while on-ear headphones have cushions that sit on the outer ear.
