Simple yet impressive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Polk Audio - Dual 6.5" 2-Way Floorstanding Loudspeaker - Black My system has experienced another upgrade and the sound clarity is incredible. I was very surprised as to how much of a difference they made and it's hard to believe this is an entry-level setup. I would recommend these speakers to someone with an average size room such as mine that is looking to stay within a safe budget. I got two to add to a 7.2 surround sound system.

Polk speakers equal best bang for the buck
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price these speakers are hard to beat. I was looking at pair of Sony speakers since I have a Sony receiver, but went with these based on the sales person's recommendation and my previous experience with Polk speakers. Sound quality is great and they look good too.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced 2 satellite speakers with these they do a great job but I now need replace the center b/c they drown it out. Buy these! To hell with tiny shelf speakers!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great value! Awesome sound quality, and yes they even go with my/ our family room decor! With these, I brought the movie theater sound to my couch! Plus, I can crank up my Jimmy Buffett and feel like I’m at a concert! Now my neighbors really have a good reason to hate me! Ha!

A quality speaker well worth the cost.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As one who has the entire T-Series Home Theater Speaker system from Polk Audio I feel more than qualified to write the following review. T50 Loud Speaker. The speaker is surprisingly well built, it's obvious Polk takes the design of their cabinets seriously. The speakers have rich bass that isn't overwhelming when used for movies and general TV watching, the Treble is vibrant and airy without being tinny sounding of full of hissing. All in all I'd have to say buy a pair of T50's and prepare to be impressed with the sound quality that Polk Audio has instilled in a pair of budget entry level Home Audio Speakers.

Q: QuestionCan I mix 6 ohm speakers with 8 ohm equipment ?
Asked by william.
- A:Answer Typically when you use a speaker with a lower rating than your equipment supports you lower the life of the equipment. The reason is that your equipment will get hotter the lower you go. That being said, check your equipments spec to see if it supports a 6 ohm load as most will. Even if it doesn't say so going from 8 to 6 isn't that bad unless you already have heat issues. If your equipment has protection circuitry you will notice that it cuts off during heavy use at high volumes if heat is a problem. With light use at lower volumes you may never see a problem. I say go for it, I would....I have been a home and car audio enthusiast since 1974.

Q: QuestionConnectityDoes this speaker connect to the standard audio jack?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Im not sure what you mean by standard audio jack. On the back of the speaker there are two posts (positive/red and negative/black) that you twist up to expose a hole in the middle. You thread a good sized gauge speaker wire through the hole and then twist the posts down to crimp the connection. They are not RCA type plugs. I hope this answers your question.

Q: QuestionHi, I need to replace the two rear side speakers in my 7.1 sound system. Will these work for that purpose?
Asked by mythreesons.
- A:Answer yes, these can be used as surround/rear speakers. Their proportions mean they are designed to sit on the floor, but, if you have space to do that, they will likely sound as good or better than most "surround" speakers that are smaller and designed for wall or shelf placement....and these smaller speakers are often lacking in bass. With more and more bass being recorded in the surround channels of movies and TV shows, I say you can't go wrong with the largest speaker you can fit into the rear speaker location, provided it is of good quality. These are a steal for the price, and, require very little amp power for clean sound.
