A: I have a multitude of Apple devices. I back up everything to iCloud. When I add or replace a device, I setup my iCloud account on the new device and sync the new device with iCloud. You can’t get messages that way, but make sure your current iPad has Photos in the cloud and those should end up putting the images on the new iPad.

Q: WHAT GENERATION IS THIS ONE?
A: This is the iPad I purchased some months ago. It is the first generation silicon M1 model. Not sure what iPad Pro generation it is. The current model uses the M2 silicon chip (processor). Once you want the 1 tb model, you get the higher amount of RAM, that is 26 gb. The less expensive iPad Pro with up to 512 gb of space as well as those with 256 gb and 128 gb of space all come with 8 gb RAM.

Great product
I love this product. I use it for all of my work. Battery can have more juice but charges fast.

A Fabulous Tablet
I started using Apple tech in the mid 1990s while I was the IT Director for an international executive search firm based in Switzerland. I traveled around North America for work, but found shlepping around a heavy laptop and accessories did not make my travel easy. I started with the first Apple Message Pad and said “Goodbye” to the laptop! Years later I adopted iPods, iPhones, iPads, MacBook Pros…I’m writing this review on my 12.9 inch iPad Pro first generation regarding the 11 inch iPad Pro M1 with 16 go ram and 1 tb. That is at my sometimes home and allows me to travel there and tech is there for me. Truth be told, I did sheep that ipad back home right after I bought it and used it daily before traveling home with it. What a delight that tablet is to use! Its screen is wonderful to view images, documents and the web. As I am a photographer the iPad is a powerful but small piece of configurable tech that can enhance your life. As I’m writing this review, I’m struggling with replacing my 12.9 inch iPad Pro with the smaller version. These tablets allow you to extend your laptop’s desktop onto the iPad, listen to music, watch videos, have FaceTime meetings as well as video meetings on a variety of platforms including Zoom, Teams, etc. and even let’s you control other computers! I may just purchase the 11 inch iPad Pro, M2 Silicon to replace my old 12.9 inch iPad, as the superior experience I have using the M1 Silicon tablet gives me a happy feeling as I think about all the great times I have had editing images with Adobe Lightroom, Creative Cloud, ON1, and others. Now that these devices use USB-C instead of lightning cables, they are easier for me to charge as I have charging setup for 14 inch Mackbook Pro M1, and can use the same charger/cable combo for both. I highly recommend you consider this “Fablet” - Fabulous Tablet - for yourself so you can have the same enhanced user experience as I.
