Fantastic upgrade and replacement for Roku
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Apple TV HD replaces out decade old Roku box. We liked the Roku box for what it did all those years, but this last year, with Roku boxes we had, just had too many issues and both are dead. So when it came time to replace them, we looked hard at both the highest end Roku boxes, the Apple TV options, we even thought about just replacing the TV with a Smart TV that already had the apps we wanted. In short, we absolutely made the best decision with the Apple TV HD. We would have gone with the 4K model except that the TV this was attached to is 720p and won't be upgraded anytime soon. Because we are already in the Apple Ecosystem, this fit in quite well, and even made things like separating family member accounts, and who sees what, very seamless and handy. Its also great if you have Apple Fitness! Being able to see the workouts on a larger screen is a HUGE plus. Let's talk about searching apps. Roku's remote sucks. the Apple TV Remote with the Siri Button is beyond awesome. Just press the button, tell Siri what you are looking for, release the button, and Viola! Its like Magic! We will never go back to the single letter typing of the Roku. If that's not enough, if you have an iPhone or iPad, you can use those as remotes as well, with the same functionality as the Siri Remote. Very well thought out! And then there's Apple Homekit! We are just getting started with Homekit, but we see serious potential as we continue to build on it. Overall, I'd give this 7 out of 10 stars if I could since we ended up getting much more than expected out of it.

Great Apple TV for HD TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Get rid of the cable box and get the Apple TV. This works great with HD TVs (not 4k). The interface and the remote are awesome. You will need to purchase an HDMI cable separately.

Apple TV HD 32GB
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Apple TV HD 32GB is a solid streaming device for those who enjoy Apple’s ecosystem and want access to premium content in a well-integrated manner. Released as a more affordable option compared to the 4K version, it remains a competent option for users who do not require 4K resolution and are satisfied with HD quality. Design and Build The Apple TV HD looks sleek and minimalistic. It comes in the signature glossy black box that is compact enough to blend seamlessly with most entertainment setups. The included Siri Remote, though compact, offers a comfortable feel with an intuitive touchpad for navigation and a dedicated Siri button for voice control. Performance and Features Running on Apple’s tvOS, the Apple TV HD offers a smooth and fluid user interface. It provides access to a wide range of apps from the App Store, covering popular streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and more. AirPlay functionality works seamlessly, making it easy to mirror content from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to your TV. Siri integration is efficient, allowing you to search for content using voice commands, control smart home devices, or get updates on the weather. However, the A8 chip powering the device is aging, and while it handles streaming content without major hiccups, some newer games or demanding apps may feel a bit sluggish. Audio and Picture Quality While it does not support 4K resolution, the Apple TV HD delivers sharp 1080p HD quality with vibrant colors and decent contrast. For those without 4K TVs or who primarily stream HD content, the viewing experience is still quite enjoyable. Audio support includes Dolby Digital Plus, which provides immersive sound on supported systems. Storage and Content With 32GB of storage, there’s ample space for apps and media, though power users who download a lot of apps or games may find it limiting. It integrates well with other Apple services, such as Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and Apple Fitness+, making it a good choice for those already invested in the Apple ecosystem. Pros • Smooth user interface and excellent app ecosystem • Siri voice commands and HomeKit integration • Seamless AirPlay and screen mirroring • Compact and sleek design Cons • No 4K support, limited to 1080p HD • Aging A8 processor may struggle with newer apps or games • Expensive compared to some newer, budget streaming devices Verdict The Apple TV HD 32GB is best suited for users who are deeply invested in Apple’s ecosystem and are fine with HD resolution. While it provides a premium streaming experience with Apple’s signature polish, it may feel underwhelming for those looking for cutting-edge features or 4K support. Nonetheless, it remains a dependable and user-friendly streaming device.

Q: QuestionI have Spectrum TV. Will this device receive Spectrum. Is 32GB Apple device adequate
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yeah, you can download the spectrum app on the app store. 32 gb has been good for me, its enough for all the streaming apps you need, what I've heard is the only reason to buy the 64 is if your wanting to download lots of games from the app store

Q: QuestionWhat is the life of an apple tv box device and when do you know it should be changed? I bought mine around five years ago and sometimes it seems to disconnect from the Internet. I checked with my Internet provider-Comcast and that box is working fine.
Asked by Ali.
- A:Answer I have an old 1st hen Apple TV in the spare bedroom that is still going strong & don’t have any disconnect issues. I recently moved & the Apple TV was packed away for four months. No issues setting it up in the new location either; with Xfinity Wifi. It was seamless reconnect in a new State; new WiFi account. Remote still works too. Maybe your wire/cable is loose or it’s a bad Apple (hehe) device. Sure I’d love an upgrade to 4K but as long as this keeps working (even mirroring works I’m a happy camper. . Good luck.

Q: QuestionWhy would I need to purchase this product if I can stream Apple TV ?
Asked by Ricco.
- A:Answer From my experience, it gives you access to Apple's gaming and fitness services (Apple Arcade and Fitness+). It allows you to use your HomePod(s) or HomePod mini(s) as TV speakers for a good surround sound system. Apple TV 4K (2021) comes with redesigned 'Siri Command Remote' also. But most importantly, 'Privacy'. Apple takes the protection of your person information very sincerely, which is a big reason to use Apple's streaming hardware over just using its services on a third-party TV,Smart TV or dongle. If you don't have an Apple TV streaming box, then your streaming activity and account information isn't monitored by Apple, but by the hardware companies that are running its software — and they likely don't have the same rigorous standards of protecting your information as Apple. You can also connect your 'AirPods, AirPods Pro or AirPods Max' for private listening on your TV. Apple TV HD runs more smoothly which a Stronger Processor than a Smart TV which lags for better streaming. It also connects to your 'Smart Home Hub'. Last, you can put your own 'Personal Screensavers' on your TV when you're away. It was a great choice for me to purchase.

Q: QuestionCan you down load new apps on this device?
Asked by Hillbilly.
- A:Answer Yes. There's tons of apps in the app store. Not sure if it's exactly the same as iPhone app store but very similar. If you also have an iPhone the Apple TV can be set up to look like your phone.
