Q: I have stacks of paper to scan, some 8 1/2 by 11 and others legal --- will the scanner adjust and scan the legal pages correctly as it cycles through the stack of papers? Thanks

A: Thank you for your interest in our Fujitsu product. Yes, the scanner can take different size documents at the same time. It will scan as they are stacked in the input chute.

Q: is it difficult to set up scanner on Window 10 PC?

A: Hi. The scanner comes with an installation disc that automates the installation process. The installation files can also be downloaded from our website. Once the scanner driver and scanning software are installed there are a few preset scan profiles that you can use to get you started scanning. You can customize the profiles according to your preference and workflow. Hope that helps.

Q: I'm thinking of renting the fi-7160 model When it scans the documents where do they go?? Do I need to buy software?? Flash drive?? Kindly advise

A: Thank you for your interest in our products. The fi-7160 was recently discontinued and replaced by the fi-8170. Some fi-7160 may still be available at some resellers. We provide an enhanced feature rich scanning software called PaperStream Capture. We also provide an easy to use software called PaperStream ClickScan. Both software editions are free with the scanner and run with Windows software. The software can be setup to save on a pc folder, network folder, FTP/SFTP, and Sharepoint/Sharepoint Online or attached USB external disk, including flash drive.

Q: Does id come with some kind of PDF Software?

A: Thank you for contacting PFU Canada support. The fi-series scanners come with PaperStream Capture Basic, capable of doing many file outputs, including PDF. Please see our datasheet for PaperStream Capture for the other file outputs available. https://www.fujitsu.com/us/imagesgig5/PSC_Datasheet_9-1-20.pdf

Q: Does this scan for OCR? How many pages per minute will be scanned in OCR?

A: Hi Bob, the fi-7160 can scan to searchable PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The time it takes to OCR a page depends on many factors including the quality of the text on the image, font size, and number of characters on a page, and the speed of your computer. In most cases the OCR will take longer than physically scanning the pages.
