Also known as first-person view (FPV) drones, racing drones offer an immersive flying experience. Operators can wear goggles that allow them to see from the drone’s perspective. All drones weighing more than 0.55 pounds (250 grams) must be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Further, every drone used in racing competitions, regardless of weight, must be registered by the FAA.
