I have had this happen once, and I reached out to Best Buy customer service for gift cards. They had to manually fix it because the code would not work when I tried to redeem in Itunes. Call 1.888.716.7994, press 1 for English and then it will ask you to enter the gift card number... listen to the prompt in order to speak to someone.

Apple told me they changed their gift card numbering system after some time. Apple requested verification of receipt, phone, address, picture, etc. which I provided. They stole my gift card balance and claimed someone used it. They sent massive radiation rendering my phone unusable and for what reason? I did nothing wrong.
