The plastic pin in the back plugs into the ground hole in the bottom outlet for stability. I would recommend using this unit on an outlet that does not have the test/reset as those outlets types are for use around water to prevent electrical surges. I don't recommend using this product in areas where water would be present (i.e. bathroom, kitchen, etc).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I thought it was back there to keep it sturdy in the socket. Sometimes things get to heavy and the plug falls out of the socket I guess it’s just a little added protection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sounds like you have a gfi you are plugging it in. You might try a regular receptacle
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it stabilizes the unit in an outlet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your wall socket is a GFCI outlet which provides protection from electrocution. You cannot use a wall mount surge protector because it defeats the GFCI protection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Can't use this on a GFCI outlet.
