They're basically the same but the Echo Plus has a built-in smart home hub to easily control your smart lights, thermostat, fans, plugs and other smart devices all without the need for an additional smart home hub.

The Echo Plus has a built in Home Automation Hub. The Echo 2nd generation still works with home automation, but the Plus has more advanced home automation capabilities.

The plus has a hub built in. You don’t have to buy a separate one.

Nothing, except a better speaker if you want it for music. Can be connected to Bluetooth speaker.
