A:AnswerYes, by default Echo uses google maps on an android or apple maps on an iphone. However, under settings there is a traffic section and you can change it to waze. If you have gas buddy, you can even ask 'Alexa ask gasbuddy for the nearest gas station' or 'Alexa ask gas buddy for the lowest gas price near me'. There is also an app it works with for parking, 'ParkWhiz' and I think one other, but I'm not sure.
Sometimes, she doesn't understand my request and it takes a while to get it right. My dad lives on a numbered street, and what happens is it combines the house and street number. (ex. 'Alexa I would like directions to 4 7th street becomes 47th street.) So in that case, I have to drop the house number.
You can ask things like, where is the nearest grocery store (or any other type of business). There is a way to add a stop to the navigation, however, I don't remember it right now. I use my echo for the radio tuner now. The easiest way to have a radio station is to know it's call sign. 'Alexa, I want to listen to KOSF radio'.
You can also use it to open the navigation app, then issue a 'Alexa, cancel navigation' and that will leave waze (or apple/google) up. I like that for having a speed limit indicator available.
A:AnswerMuch more intuitive you can control many more things and it work through my existing non bluetooth stereo system my aux cord connects to it very discreetly. Without aux jack would probably need to use an fm transmitter
A:AnswerThis device basically uses your mobile phone to do all the work, so you will need either an aux or a bluetooth in. It doesn't have its own speakers and is completely dependent on your car stereo.
A:AnswerHello,
Yes, the mount and the connections come with this device in the box. It will connect via Bluetooth to your phone and cars radio, but it comes with a 3.5 MM cable as well as a power cord. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
A:AnswerHi Zand, The Echo Auto works with Android and Apple phones. To setup the Echo Auto, download, install, and sign-in to the Alexa app.
Grant the Alexa app the permissions it needs.
Connect your Echo Auto to the 12V power supply using the cable and adapter in the box, or plug into a USB socket.
The Echo Auto will have an orange light on the front when it is ready to connect.
In the Alexa app in your phone go to devices > add, tapping the icon in the top left corner.
From the menu select Add Device > Amazon Echo > Echo Auto.
Follow the instructions in the app that will guide you through mounting and connecting your Echo Auto. Thank you!
A:AnswerI'm still in research mode myself, so if you read this, please know these are my guestimations based on
the standards of BT technology, as well as being a current in-house echo user.
Since the auto echo connects to your phone's service (through it's own echo app), it should then broadcast/connect to any and all bluetooth sources that your phone is connected to. In other words it kinda just piggy backs to your phone (thru the app), so your phone is still primary device for bluetooth selection. Once you have set up the echo and it is connected to your phone, proceed by selecting your portable speaker from your phone's list of available bluetooths, just like you do otherwise. Actually, you might just be able to request for Alexa to do it ... Also, you would have the option of hardwiring, as aux cord comes included.
The echo basically integrates all your connected smart tools through this one hub, hands-free (verbal commands) while also offering Alexa's full access personal assistance, as well as entertainment services like all request playlists, books on audio, sports and current events -- limitless internet sourced information on verbal demand.
Much safer
Pretty cool
A:AnswerThe Echo Auto will not show any video on the screen of your car. It connects to your car via Bluetooth or 3.5mm jack. It will then connect to your phone and use the data and information from your phone to control GPS. The idea behind Echo Auto is voice only and hands free operation. It will give you your GPS via voice through your cars stereo.
Hope that answers your questions, have a great day!
A:AnswerThe Echo Auto connects to your car stereo via Bluetooth or an aux cable. If your car does not offer these connection type the Echo Auto may not work properly in your car.
A:AnswerEcho Auto serves as a bridge linking Alexa to your car audio from your phone. Unlike home-focused Echo products, the Echo Auto depends on your phone for data. Its built-in mic can transmit audio to and from your phone with Bluetooth or the 3.5mm audio jack, but no computing is done on the device. It can be brought indoors but as I said above it depends on your phone.
