The echo has a fairly good speaker built in suitable for listening to music - given its size. The dot has a small utility speaker and is designed for providing responses to your questions/commands. The dot is designed to be hooked up to external speakers via Bluetooth or rca type adaptor. The dot is very small relative to the Echo.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The echo has more microphones making it more than a one room item, it stretches through your whole floor. The dot only can hear you through a few rooms.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The amazon echo is larger and has a built in high def speaker. The dot does not however it does have a small built in speaker so it can work on it's own. The built in speaker for the dot is actually pretty decent but if you want higher quality sound for music you are definitely going to want to pair it with a nice bluetooth speaker or even connect it via aux to speaker.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.$130 dollars cheaper. Far better hardware performance. It has a Smaller speaker, but you can hook it up to an external speaker to get great sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Feature-wise, they are basically identical. The major difference between the two is the Echo is larger and that's because it has a larger and more substantial speaker built in. The Dot still has a speaker but doesn't have the sound quality like it's larger cousin. You can get a Dot and pair it up to a nice Bluetooth speaker or plug it into your home stereo and achieve the same or better results. Even if you didn't use an additional speaker with the Dot, volume is not an issue. Alexa's responses are still easily heard with it's out-of-box configuration.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sound quality. And some what the quality of microphones. I have both and the echo has a lot better sound. But for voice (weather, news, etc) the dot is fine and half the price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.speaker quality from what I can tell.a friend has the echo and that's all I can see that is different
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Size
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.THE DOT DOES NOT HAVE A HIGH QUALITY SOUND AND SPEAKER SYSTEM BUT IT HAS BLUETOOTH AND HEADPHONE OUTPUTS. THE ECHO HAS A NICE SOUNDING MONO SOUND SYSTEM BUT NO BLUETOOTH AND HEADPHONE STEREO OUTPUTS
