• Nope but I highly recommend purchasing one. You can get nice ones at really good prices. Just make sure the case you order is for the version you have i.e Paperwhite vs Fire

• No. There are several very nice cases at around $15. Amazons case is WAY overpriced in my opinion. It seems to be pretty durable;I've occasionally put it in my back pocket when walking to the park to read.

• No, you have to buy one for it. This is something I would highly recommend to do, since I managed to crack the screen on my first , unprotected, Kindle.
