• Yes, we use it for video editing and architectural design, my 8gb was slow compared to this.

• There aren't alot of 3d modeling apps for ipad. Solidworks doesn't have one. There are 3d modeling viewers for ipad. Its not only about ram but the graphics for 3d modeling. You might lookinto a mac laptop.
