What is the purpose of the ability to flip the waffle over? I don’t understand the benefit of this feature. Does the waffle somehow cook differently? null

When you flip it over it allows to waffle maker to get more dough into the other side of the waffle to make a good waffle but you don't have to flip it if you don't want to it's just a lot better if you do

I pour the batter in the waffke iron and flip it over to obtain even browning  on both sdes.

My guess is that flipping the waffles helps distribute the waffle batter. With just a bit of practice, it's not difficult with this unit to get perfect waffles that fill the entire cooking area.
