No you don’t need any subscription for the basic functions. You can get motion alerts and save them, watch live video for 3 minutes, and it has night vision

You can continue to keep live view limited after the 30-day subscription ends. But then you no longer have saved videos or anything like that to the cloud. So basically you just wind up with a check-in cam with no storage

No, but if you want to record clips you do need a subscription.

There is a subscription for our cloud storage, but customers are not required to use it. Another storage option is local storage, activated by plugging a USB flash drive into a Sync Module 2. Local storage has no recurring fee to use the feature. Either of these storage options will let you view clips remotely from your phone.
