A:AnswerThere are different levels of noise cancelling. double-tap the left ear bud and it can change from ambient to quiet, and if you install the app on your device you can setup other profiles with levels of noise cancelling. I have tried several headphones specifically for noise cancelling, and these have been the best, even better that my set of 'over the ears' headphones.

A:AnswerI was left impressed by the sound quality and dynamic range of these true wireless earbuds. Regarding distortion, there is very little in my experience. I have $2500 UE IEMs, and $400 Master & Dynamic IEMs, and these astonishingly are not that far behind. In fact I have ended up wearing them more than I typically wear earbuds for convenience sake; and they’re enjoyable. They are not as loud as my other options so I end up nearly maxing the volume, and again, I’m impressed. The EQ in the app is a must. Bass is bigger than it should be in a $219 earbud, with a natural rumble - not a manufactured boom. The highs are good, not IEM good, but good. Mids, Vocals shine with these and are stage forward. You do have to be conscious of how you position them in your ears, but it’s easier than most to find the sweet spot. Long term wear exposes some discomfort, but that’s hours. Unfortunately, phone only happens with the R unit. Touch controls aren’t great, but do the trick. The charging case is big! But, the batteries last forever! Where I would have charged my iPod pros twice, I’m at 60% with these. Call voice is clear and loud. No one has complained about my voice in loud airport environments and outdoor wind. Overall, highly impressed!
