The POWER 500W inverter allows you to charge and power your devices by either utilizing the 12V adapter (that plugs into your CLA/car accessory port) or you can have it permanently installed directly to your battery (we recommend you take it to a professional installer for this application). Its Its purpose is to power/charge your devices while driving. The POWER 500W inverter cannot jump start your car. If you are looking for a jump starting solution, Cobra has a few options - Models CPP8500 or CPP15000. This is an inverter used to convert 12 volt battery power to regular household 110 volt power outlets, used for powering small onboard items such as cell phone chargers, tablets, laptops, GPS devices, USB speakers, etc. It doesn't have a battery inside of it - on the contrary, it requires your car battery to be fully charged so that it can operate properly. Definitely will not help jump start a vehicle.
